Pieces didn't fit

The quality of the wood was good but the pieces did not fit together. The bottom dividers (G) were too long so we could not fully attach the bottom piece.

Quality good-directions and size of dividers were inaccurate

The bookcase is heavy and good quality but the pieces did not fit together properly so when we finished assembly, the bottom base did not connect to the rest of the book case. The G dividers in between on the bottom were too long yet the dividers on the top were too short even though they were supposed to be the same size. It was really disappointing yet we did not want to dissemble and return so we were sort of stuck with it. They should redo the directions and check the pieces.

Very strudy. Looks expensive.

I'm using it to store my sewing items.

I assembled this by myself, I am 65 years old. It took just under 3 hours. Directions were clear and assembly was easy for as large as it is! It looks amazing!

A Second Review- Egg on My Face

Please remove my former one star review and photos. After consulting with a very kind Sauder Employee, Sally, I'm embarrassed to say my bookcase had been assembled by my friend and I incorrectly. Sauder & HD, I apologize. A tear down and rebuild will solve the uneven shelves, as we had flipped a horizontal piece that threw the entire unit off. Lesson: Pay close attention to the top and bottom of each item.

Holes Drilled In Wrong Places

The unit has holes drilled 1\2" to 3/4" off in several areas. The entire unit looks off balance. The shelves don't meet evenly horizontally, and the shelf dividers are too short or too high in three areas. This makes this shelf unstable and it could collapse. Would have been a nice piece. Look elsewhere. It weighs 80 pounds, and impossible for me to return. $ lost.

Good value

We have several Sauder bookcases. This one is good quality and was easy to put together. Definitely a good value.

Sturdy once built, but poor hole alignment when assembling.

Assembling the unit was a pain. Found holes that were not done in the right spot, about 1 inch off. Disassembled the unit a couple of times to verify each part to make sure it wasn't my mistake, before doing my own holes in the right place. Didn't have a drill bit large enough for the holes required so it took a long time to make the holes with a smaller bit. Overall it took me more than double the time to finish the unit and made the experience unpleasant, to say the least! I have assembled many similar pieces of furniture in the past, including 4 or 5 units made by Sauder so I a familiar with how to assemble them. This is the first one that had issues with... Finished product is sturdy and looks good, other than the extra holes...

Looks okay from a distance.

I ordered two of these units to go on either side of my fireplace. Installing the first unit took way longer than it should have. Once assembled, we noticed several flaws: Shelf dividers not the same size so aren't all flush with the front edge; A factory flaw in the front edge of one shelf that we will have to fill and paint so it doesn't draw the eye right to it; The slots cut into the backing panels that are visible from the front; The dark brown colored safety strap that is visible from the front. Why not make a WHITE strap to go with the WHITE unit??? We haven't put the other unit together yet and we aren't looking forward to it. Major sad face here.

A little tricky putting it together but once done, it looks great. Was the perfect addition for my little office niche. Love it.

Not a good product

First of all it's a lot of pieces and heavy otherwise I would have return it! The pieces didn't fit together. We kept trying so by the time we figured out one of the pieces was the wrong length (even though it was marked correctly) the fasteners had pulled out and broke. We had to use a saw to cut one of the J parts to get it to fit together. Because of this in the end it didn't come together properly. It looks bad and was Very frustrating.

Beautiful addition in my office!

A great bookcase that doesn't take up an entire wall! Large cubes are used for books and smaller cubes are used for family photos.

wrong measurements!

This is an amazing bookcase and I absolutely love it, but the measurements were wrong. the width should be 60 inches but is labelled as the height which is 44 inches. luckily I had space for it still but be aware of this when thinking about purchasing this item.

Ease in Assembly

This was the easiest piece of furniture for a mature adult to assemble. It did not take too much strength to put together and it looks beautiful.
