Napoleon cast iron charcoal tray

I have only used this tray once so far. It was simple and straight forward putting it into the grill to use. During the first use, the tray cracked along the right hand side from the edge to a quarter away along the bottom. I noticed this next day when I was cleaning off the ash from the tray to remove it. It is still functional, but I would not think a cast iron tray would crack after the first use.

Love having charcoal grilling abilities with my napoleon

I have every type of grill you can think of, charcoal, griddle, smoker, gas etc. I bought this to see if I could simplify my grilling life by getting rid of my charcoal grill. Truth be known I didn’t get rid of my charcoal grill but I absolutely love this addition to my napoleon grill. I can have the charcoal flavor sere and cook other things all while just using one grill. Can get a little messy to clean but what charcoal grill isn’t.

Works great

A great addition to my Napoleon grill. Fits perfectly as expected. I just put in a bit of charcoal without overfilling it, and I filled the corner box with soaked apple chips. This was perfect and made for some great smoked wings.

Flawed Design

I thought this would've been better when I'd purchased it. The main issue is having ash fall through the holes onto the gas burner assembly and tray. Might be better sealed and started from the top like a regular charcoal grill.

Cracked 1st use

Purchased ours in 2021 just after purchasing a new Prestige Just used it for the first time now and “boom” cracked just after lightning !!! Very disappointing!

Good stuff

It burn in my gas BBQ, but it no gas. It charcoal

It cracked with heat

It's the second time it just cracked while lighting the charcoal. Any one have a solution for how to avoid?

Heavy duty worked as advertised

Very poor quality

First tray cracked after 5-6 uses and continued to crack with further use. Second tray cracked 6 inches on first use. There is no return or warranty for the tray. Napoleon never responded to email queries.

needs to go back to R&D

I like the concept of this product, actually have used quite a bit. That said, mine is coming up on a year old and it is rusting some fierce. The small triangle portion that is for the smoking wood chips doesnt ignite the chips well, in turn wasting most of my chips I purchased through here. All in all its a great idea, and I would also like to see it where you can reinstall the grate over the top.

Bought this product - second time I used it as charcoal - big crack thru whole assembly - can't use safely now

Nice flavour big mess

Nothing wrong with the quality but ashes from the charcoal get everywhere. A pain to cleanup the grill afterwards

Waste of money

Bought this a year ago and never used till this weekend. Tray broke on first use. Zero support.

Purchased this when I purchased my grill absolutely one of the best purchases I’ve made I do not have a smoker, but this ad such a great taste and flavor of smoke that you would think I cook my meats on a smoker I did not know that I could add photos, so I apologize I do not have any but next time I use it, I will post them

Adds great versitility!

This is a great option to allow you to cook with charcoal without requiring a 2nd appliance. Sometimes it is nice to have that charcoal flavour

Awesome flavour addition

I bought this a few years ago to be able to add an additional option outside of propane. Super convenient to use and definitely adds to the flavour of my food. Also super handy when you accidentally run out of propane in the middle of a cook out!

Cast Iron Charcoal Smoker Tray

This is by far the best invention ever. Thank you Napoloen for giving us a product that we can have the best of both worlds. Charcoal bbq one week and gas the next. Great product and easy to clean and cook on.
