Toasts evenly on both sides!

I purchased 5 toasters in 30 days and returned 4. This is my 5th and finally! The toaster works wonderfully. It toasts evenly and on both sides at the same time! The others would only heat on one side at a time. This one looks great, it feels sturdy and well made. The handle is tight and smooth and it toasts both sides of the bread evenly! I’m so happy. Thank you for another great product GE! I should have went with GE the first and saved myself a lot of frustration.

Our old GE toaster gave out after 20 years. Unfortunately we purchased a competitor brand as a replacement since it was cheaper and in stock locally, big mistake. Uneven toasting, burnt on level two, hot exterior. Ordered this GE toaster to replace the replacement and love it! Toasts even, the shade settings actually provide different levels of toasting, and it looks nice. Big win is the shade knobs click for each setting, other toaster did not and was definitely a feature we missed from our original GE toaster!

[Rewarded Review] Expensive yet doesn't function well

In short, pick another toaster. I'm not sure what is uses to decide it's done toasting. With no changes to the doneness setting, some days it toasts more, some days less. The bagel setting does nothing, or at least, so close to nothing it might as well not be there at all. It should reduce the heat on the crust side of the bagel, but the toaster burns that side just as much on bagel setting as it does on no-frills regular toasting setting. On the plus side, the latches latch the toast down, the slots are fairly wide (but not quite wide enough for a brioche hamburger but without some mangling/damage), and the cancel button does pop things up. Overall, I think I need to fix the toast-down latches on my old toaster -- that toaster actually knew how to toast a bagel.

The GE -4 slice toaster is the best I have ever owned. It fits and toasts every type of bread we enjoy. Bagels, English Muffins, multi-grain breads, and frozen leftover waffles. The settings make it adjust to exaclty how you want your bread toasted. My old toaster only toasted the bread on one side...very annoying wasted too much time. I highly recommend this GE, it is really a toaster that will do what it is meant to do. Enjoy what you toast YOUR WAY.

It's a toaster. Plug and play, but it's a 'nice' toaster. Wider openings than old school toasters have, more settings than lesser toasters have as well as being very nice looking. The crumb groove around the periphery of the openings....the jury is still out as to the advantages of those. Yeah they capture the crumbs and drop them down inside the unit but what if I want to clean the top and don't want them going in there? It does make it hard to clean in my opinion. Anyway, it's still a great....toaster.

I ordered this toaster because of all the 5 star reviews and it was such a good looking toaster. I also liked that you can wrap the cord around around the bottom and leave just enough cord to reach the plug.

GE Not-A--Toaster

We had high hopes for this toaster based on some of the 5* reviews, but were also concerned about the comments that it took 2 or 3 plunges to get bread toasted. Unfortunately the latter was our experience. We tried different types of bread and different settings, and it took the highest setting to even get the bread partly brown. What a waste of money, so we took it back.
