[Rewarded Review] Simple elegant salt and pepper grinders

I have tried all the salt and pepper grinder sets throughout the years, but this is the most elegant and useful salt and pepper grinder on the market. I could use these for company or just for cooking. I couldn't see using anything else.

Why aren't all grinders like this?

I bought this after having bought the pepper version. The brilliant thing about these grinders is that the grinding mechanism is at the top. That means that when you're done, it sits on a solid base and no little grains of salt or pepper leak out. These are the grinders that I keep on my dining table, and I am happy to not have the constant mess to clean up! And importantly, they grind well, too.

The quality of these are just terrible First month working OK after that they degenerate for about the next 11 and after a year, they’re no good. The grind no longer grind fine. The plastic bottom starts falling out.

The best grinder we have every purchased. We have wasted money of grinders over the years. They would not work after only months of use. The OXO brand is reliable and the company stands behind all their products. This grinder was well worth the money spent.

Functional and looks good

Grinder has different settings for level of coarseness. I like the fine setting, spouse likes the coarse setting. Easy to change between settings. Easy to use. Just the right size. Not small, and not overwhelmingly big.

Love your salt and pepper

Love your salt and pepper grinders. When the salt shaker started leaking salt out of the bottom and making a mess I called and you replaced it with a new one.

Great Product!

This salt grinder is the best! I've tried many others that are touted as 'the best', but ultimately they leak and or break. This unit has multiple grind setting and is built to last!

Quality Grinder

OXO products are the best. When you purchase from OXO you know the company stands behind their products. Recently, I had an issue with a product I had purchased over 2 years ago. I was pleasantly surprised, when I contacted OXO that they quickly replaced the product. They just agreed with me that their products should last longer than 2 years. I will always buy OXO….great products from a reputable company!

Works well

The company replaced a defective salt grinder with a new one. It was a pleasant experience and they were very helpful. I received the grinder within the week. I am impressed with the company replacement policy. Thank you very much.

My Favorite Salt Grinder

The Salt and Pepper Grinder set are not only attractive, but they function beautifully. The salt grinder works with a variety of lump salt sizes and the grinder handles them all. And OXO stands behinds their products and have wonderful customer service.

a good design for a salt grinder

We had the same model for some years and like the design very much because the normal ones always leave a trail of salt (or pepper). When the base fell off a couple of times we got another, but the base has already fallen off once, which is a bit worrying. Hopefully it won't happen again because they're really nice to use and beautiful too. I made sure the thread was clean when I put it back together in case salt gets stuck there in a way that pepper can't.

Great Salt & Pepper Grinders

Very happy with the OXO Good Grips salt and pepper mills. Do the job really well, easy to adjust the size of grind, work very effectively and don’t leave any residue on the worktop/dinning table.

Firstly, let me say that I own numerous Oxo Good Grips products and absolutely love every one of them. Price and quality is superb. This was bought, as an addition, to use solely for smoked sea salt. Really impressed with the quality and also the fineness of the grind. Normally grinders, although adjustable, will still sometimes produce a coarse grind even on the lowest setting.

Great size and works well

I saw a few reviews about this salt grinder being too big. I disagree. This is a perfect size if you cook and put salt in your food, regularly. You don't want to be refilling it all the time, and you won't have to with this shaker.

Disappointed

Maybe I have just been unlucky, but this is the worst grinder I have ever owned! Ok, so it is easy to handle, it doesn’t spill etc, but it also doesn’t grind! No matter whether it is on the fine or coarse setting, I have to stop and shake it, clear the mechanism, shake again, have another go - eventually I manage a fine sprinkle of pepper. Definitely a case of style over substance.

Great grinder!

At last! I’ve struggled to find a pair of salt and pepper grinders for kitchen use that work for more than a year! Both salt and pepper grinders are a sensible weight which make you think quality; pleasing design; comfortable to hold; easy to refill (previous grinders had curved tops so when inverted to fill.... would topple over); wide opening makes refilling easy; smooth adjustable grind and no mess left on surfaces/table after use. And to back it up a lifetime manufacturer’s guarantee. What’s not to like?!

Fabulous product

Recently upgraded my salt/pepper grinder from Oxo Soft Grip. Love this product and absolutely rate the designer! Unlike other grinders the fact you have to turn these upside down to grind means no "bits" are left on your worksurfaces. Also the fact you can see the content ensures you know when it's time to refill, and the bonus is they arrive with full content. As the name implies they are easy to hold, and come with a range of settings that allow you to change the size of grind. Definitely recommend.

Great buy!

My mom has this salt shaker and I loved it so much I had to get some too. When I bought them my husband didn't understand why we needed new grinders when the cheap disposable shakers from king soopers were just fine. But now he love them too and said it was a good investment. They are really smooth and easy to use, one grind yields a lot of salt and pepper but it doesn't leak extra salt or pepper all over. You can also change the coarseness to meet your cooking needs. Highly recommend!

Great Salt Grinder

This was a replacement for my old Oxo salt grinder. The mechanism on salt grinders wear out after a while. This grinder is great. It's handsome in the kitchen or on the dining table. It grinds perfectly and lets you easily set the size of grind. It even comes filled with salt. Although I prefer Himalayan salt as it has a less salty flavor, the salt this is packaged with is quite good.

well balanced

I was worried about the grinder being on the top but I am overjoyed with this set up. The sleeker look (old ones were wooden) blends perfectly with the stainless and losing the mandatory plate underneath to catch residue is a big plus. The lower profile means I'm not constantly knocking over the pepper while grabbing for the salt. Grinding is easy and feels more comfortable grasping the wider middle area. I didn't give it 5 stars as I haven't had them long enough to judge how they'll hold up. It seem like this won't be a problem though. Wish I would have gotten these a lot sooner!
