Beautiful Kitchen Sink

You really can't go wrong with the Kohler sink. This one from the Strive line is really heavy duty. So far it has not been scratched. Had another one from a previous line and this one is much more heavy duty. It is expensive but happy with the purchase.

Scratches Terribly

I selected this sink based on the Kohler salesperson's recommendation. I have two young children and wanted something durable. This sink started scratching terribly on first use. I contacted the showroom within three days of having the sink and they said the scratches would blend over time but I have not seen that happen yet. The scratches are stark and extremely noticeable (not tiny scruff marks or anything that can be buffed out - we have tried every product possible). Our previous sink was also stainless steel and it was from 2008 and looked beautiful compared to our current situation with the Kohler sink. Our sink is scratched terribly everywhere. Kohler did offer me credits (equal to the cost of sink) toward other Kohler products which I used. Replacing the sink was unfortunately not an option because it would have been another $1000 just in labor to remove and reinstall a new sink (Kohler would not cover this) so unfortunately we just have to live with this sink in our newly renovated kitchen. I really wish I would have read reviews ahead of time as I am very disappointed in the quality of this sink. Another thing to note is that Customer Service said they had no record of this sink being faulty but there are several reviews on this topic. I'm not sure why this hasn't been investigated and discontinued and/or remedied. Very disappointing.

Kohler never disappoints. Great quality and product. Looks fantastic in the new kitchen. It is nice having the basin rack so the sink finish doesn't get scratched.

Same sink you can buy anywhere else, but at overstock i was able to get ***% off. Great Deal. Have not taken it out the box yet, will be delivering it to the counter install people tomorrow.

Great upgrade!

This sink is quite improved over the same one from several years ago. The gently curved corners make it easier to keep it clean, without mildew setting in. High quality stainless steel, and the "indentions" in the bowl allow for food particles to be efficiently rinsed down the drain.

Poor quality

We've had this sink for a year. The quality of the steel is poor. You have to use an annoying metal grid on the bottom so that it doesn't get damaged. We have used the metal grid faithfully but still somehow have scratches in the sink. How can a sink be scratched after one year of careful use? And food gets caught under the grid and gets stuck in the corners of the sink. We love Kohler products but this one is not up to their usual standards.

Strive Sink

This sink was installed several months ago and I should have seen the reviews first. There are rust spots all over and even the Kohler stainless steel cleaner sent to me by customer service does not work!

I wish I could uninstall it.

The reason for my disappointment is the flat bottom. It takes way too much effort to get the sink cleaned of food particles. Even with a sprayer the food just sprays to the other side of the drain. Major disappointment.

beautiful sink-- only complaint is it is so flat on the bottom, that. you have to lift up the metal grid that protects the surface in order to make sure all bits of food make their way down the disposal.

We love it!!

This sink is everything we wanted. The stainless grate in the bottom is extremely convenient. No more chasing food scraps under pots and pans. We also bought the Kohler faucet which is perfect for this sink which is deep enough that the spray doesn’t splatter at all. The review that says the sink doesn’t drain is not what we’ve experienced. I mentioned the issue to our plumber and he believes the sink was not properly connected to the drain and could be easily changed to work properly. Beware your countertop contractor however. Ours cut the stone top using the sink and their standard overlap as a guide, not the Kohler template. As a consequence the drying rack and cutting board don’t fit; the opening is 1/4” too small. The wood cutting board was easy enough to fix; the rack won’t work at all. We love the sink, faucet and cutting board so much we’re not lamenting the rack. If you want a sink that is professional quality and style, this is it!

Worth the money

Beautiful, deep, and does not sound like a tin can. Includes grill for the bottom.

Strive Sink & Rack

We bought this sink for our renovated kitchen 7 years ago. As other reviews state, I spend a lot of time and excess water herding food particles to the drain due to the flat bottom design. Further, the stainless steel rack has white feet that are now dirty and blackened despite soaking them often in bleach. They should be manufactured in black. Also the grate should be a crisscross design so that silverware doesn't fall through the open slots. Guess I am stuck with this less than satisfactory sink, a replacement is too expensive.
