Reviews

Bought this to use as extra searing when I expand my round table into an oval and matches well with the dining chairs we also purchased through birch lane. Such a sweet addition to our home. Used as searing under our dining room window when not needed for dining seating

One leg of the bench is about 2 inches short so the bench wobbles. Really annoying considering the price paid.

This bench is not as pictured. We ordered it thinking it would look like maple with black legs and spindles. We thought it would be shiny, a varnished finish. We were wrong all around. The look is more rough hewn wood. It’s a patina finish, but without a gloss. The grain of the wood is obvious and it’s not one color. There are streaks of yellowed wood — looks like pine — in the seat. As luck would have it, the bench works for us, but there was a moment or two when we seriously continued returning it. Plus,it is a little pricier than Overstock’s merchandise usually is. It’s no “bargain buy”, so if that’s what you’re looking for, this isn’t it. The good news — the proportions are good. The back has a nice curve. The spindle look substantial, not thin. The legs are sturdy without being heavy and bulky. It’s a graceful looking piece of furniture and it will mesh with modern, mid-century or farmhouse.
