The photograph of the barrel is misleading. There is no appearance of stone granularity. It looks like what it is, a piece of plastic. The unit does not have a very flat bottom and rocks a little on the flat surface I prepared for it. Someone made the bad decision to glue the shipping label directly onto the barrel. Thanks to that poor judgment, I spent 15 minutes with a hair dryer to soften the label glue, a razor blade, and isopropyl alcohol to try to remove that big, white shipping label.

[Rewarded Review] Great Rain Barrel

I bought this rain barrel and it arrived bent and unusable. I immediately got a return label and exchanged it. I am very pleased with the product and it will be a great benefit for my garden.

Terrible business practice

Delivered in a plastic bag missing the bug screen. Trying to return the barrel and Customer Service said they won't accept it unless it is in a box. Should have been shipped in a box. Now trying to call my local store and no one answers the phone.

Spigot does not work!

Too bad because I love the look. I have two and can’t use the collected water from either because the spigot is so slow and the pressure is so week it won’t run through a hose to my gardens. Bummer!

Love every thing about it.

I did my home work and found it cheaper price than any other on line store. It was so easy to set up, light weight but sturdy. I attached a garden hose to spout and turn on and off to water my plants. True to color. Rain chain fit inside perfectly. Love it.

Glad i got this

Got this to collect rainwater for my indoor plants. Its much larger than i expected but its heavy duty and works well without a downspout on top of it. Id buy again for sure.

Doubtful of capacity.

I doubt this holds 50 gallons, compared to my other 50 gallon barrels. It does look great. The plastic screen on top is warped but still manages to keep out debris.

It just drips out literally a drop at a time. I use the drain valve instead, which has a great flow. But the threading on that is useless - can't attach a hose to it. Have to fight with it to even get its own cap back on it. And I have to store my barrel sideways, so that valve is exposed for use. Still giving it 3 stars because it is usable, and the rest of the design seems good quality. Oh and the overflow valve should come with a hose. Or at least something in the instructions that says which diameter to buy. I had to try a few before I found one that fit, which was 1 3/4 vinyl braided tubing (another reviewer said to try dishwasher hose, but that didn't work).

Functional and attractive. My layout didn’t allow for mounting the barrel under the downspout, so we used a downspout divert from Earthminded. The flexible diverter tube hooked up perfectly to the overflow fitting. When mounted at the correct height, the Earthmind diverter provides its own overflow protection. I bought mine from Rain Brothers online. Now we keep a plant on the top. Also, we really like the bottom drain feature. Let’s us use all the water in the barrel.

The Koolscapes 50 gal. Sandstone-Look Decorative Rain Barrel is a great buy. We purchased one and we were impressed with the look. My husband built a stand for it, so it would have the pressure on the water to use the water hose with it to water the plants on our deck. The day after it was installed, it rained really hard and filled it up!

Works perfect. We have it next to our garden to water in the summer when it gets dry.

Nice looking rain barrel

We have been using it for three years now and even moved it with us when we moved the end of last year. It looks much nicer than any other rain barrel.
