lovely lamp, but super focused reading light
If a reading light is what you are looking for, this is a marvelous lamp. I was looking for something to illuminate my room. Clearly I could've seen from the picture of the small hanging shade that the light wouldn't get directed up. It doesn't support more than a 40 or 60 watt (?) bulb.

Base is too small - not stable on carpet. Shade does not fit snugly without scratching the metal work. Will have to find a black filler pad.
