This was purchased to take on a camping trip. AstroAI Tire Inflator takes about 5 minutes to fill my tire from 30 to 34 psi. My 10 gallon air compressor at home does 30 to 34 in about 30 seconds. The 2023 Muse design award was for their other compressor. The cord is shorter than advertised. Luckily my truck has a 12 volt outlet in the back seat, or I would not have been able to fill the rear tires. Overall this is about what I expected for the price.
Overall I'm happy with this air compressor, but there are a couple of things I would improve.
This is the second tire inflator I have purchased. The first was made by VacLife. The pump worked fine but the pressure reading shown in the display was consistently 2 psi less than shown on three different manual gauges. I was able to accommodate this error by simply adding 2 to whatever the VacLife device showed. I contacted VacLife to ask if there was an adjustment I could make so the device would show the correct psi. They quickly responded that I should return the product. I did so, and was about to write a review only to discover that the product has been discontinued. Consequently, I purchased the AstroAI inflator. It has exactly the same problem. Its pressure reading is 2.5 psi below that of manual gauges (including one made by AstroAI). Since, once again, the pump works fine and I can accommodate the discrepancy in psi reading, I will keep the product. It has the advantage of a longer power cord than the VacLife device, and it has a built-in space to store the cables.
This is very easy to use. I'm a senior widow with little experience putting air in my tires. This is easier than going to a gas station. I put my car in my driveway and was able to fill all my tires without any problem. This machine is a little noisy. The whole thing fit right back in the box, or not, and can stay in my trunk for future use. It gives me a sense of security that I can address a low tire pressure warning without depending on anyone else. Works as described and is the price is reasonable.
Picked up a large self-tapping bolt on my Rav4. The tire went flat overnight. I used the AstroAI Tire Inflator Air Compressor 12V DC Portable Air Compressor to pump up the flat with enough pressure to drive about a mile to the tire store. They fixed my tire with a patch (see picture) for a cost of $25. I'm a happy camper. It is a bit difficult to re-pack the wires and air hose on my model, but I think the new ones don't have long wires to the lighter socket. They have a battery to be charged with a short wire to a charger.
So I’m amending a review I did earlier this week. After contacting customer support and explaining what happened with their product. The product I had less than 2 months and it had stopped working properly. Customer support reached out and sent me a brand new unit replacing the damaged product. I have to say the new one works better and faster than the old one. I have a slow leaking front driver’s tire that I’m filling with air once in the morning and then in the evening when I leave work. When I get the replacement product I went home for lunch and got it. When I left work I used it and it took less than 3 minutes to go from 27psi to 35psi on my 370z. Thank you for standing by your product!!
Impressive inflator that works like a charm! Purchased for a new young driver in the house as peace of mind on the road. Was impressed enough to immediately purchase two more for all our vehicles. Plug it in to the vehicle cigarette lighter, set the desired PSI on the display using the + and - buttons, connect the hose to your tyre valve and turn on the power switch. The product inflates the tyre to the set pressure you chose and stops / powers off. I checked the newly inflated tyre pressure with a separate pressure gauge and they both read within 0.5 psi so can attest that it is accurate. The power cord length is more than ample to reach the rear tyres. The power cord and hose store neatly into the back of the product.
I have a 2005 Ford Expedition with a tire size of 305/50/R20. Somewhere along the line, it developed a slow leak. I got tired of going to the gas station twice a month. So, I decided to buy this item. I just used it. It worked! In about 10 - 15 minutes, forgot to time it, the tire pressure went from 15psi to 50psi!
We just received this. It worked fine on the first try. The cords just barely reached to the spare tire in the trunk because we threaded the cord through the folded down seats of the hatchback. Wouldn't reach in a sedan. Cord length was fine for the four main tires. It isn't fast, but it worked fine. We are glad to have a portable unit like this and feel like we got value for the price. We left the light unrated because we have only used in the daylight so far. We suppose it will help at night.
This portable compressor has a nice compact form factor. Everything attached, tucks away nicely on the underside. Found it not to be overly loud, like other compressors tend to be. You can use it in a underground parking lot and not feel like you're causing much of a neighbourly disruption. Really like the accuracy of the PSI. You can set the PSI rating and walk away or wait in the car until it engages the auto shutoff (when the rating is reached). You won't end up with over inflated tires with this. Overall, happy with my purchase and would recommend this for anyone looking for a portable on-the-road compressor solution.
So far, so good. I purchased this after several issues with a nail in my tire. Tire kept losing air pressure. Eventually bought new tires. Even though I probably won't need this right now, but it's good to have just in case. I don't like having to pay to put air in my tires or driving around trying to find a free air pump that may or may not work. This unit was quick and efficient. I used it to inflate my spare tire to 60psi and it only took about 5min. It was almost 0 air. I recommend having one of these for each of your vehicles. You'll be glad you have it.
I don’t know much about cars but lately my tire pressure light keeps going on each month- I’ve determined one of my tires has a leak. Instead of getting it fixed I decided it would be easier to just fill the tire up whenever the light comes on now. My tire pressure was at 19.5 when I attached the nozzle- within 90 seconds it was at the desired 30. SO easy! I’m not sure what the other attachments included do, but this worked great.
I keep this in the trunk of my car and use it to inflate the tires whenever I get an alert that the air is low. I love that you can set the inflator to your desired pressure setting and then just turn on the inflator, and it will inflate until it reaches the desired setting, and then shut itself off.
This is the first tire air compressor I've owned, and I am very happy with its performance. Because of colder weather the low tire air pressure indicator came on on my 2014 Toyota Sienna. I checked the tire pressure; each tire had dropped to about 29#. So, after receiving this compressor, I plugged it in, turned it on, and I believe in less than a minute for each tire the pressure went up to 34#, which I had set it to. I verified this pressure with a tire gauge. I would recommend this compressor to other customers - its compact, pumps the air quickly, is easy to use, and was quite inexpensive.
I used it to inflate my 4 tires to the recommended pressure. The cord is shorter than a cheaper air compressor I have. The compressor is not very loud (just enough) and it is pumping quite fast. I had to bring my tires to 42PSI. So, I set my pressure to 42.5PSI. It started fine and stopped at the set pressure. I then used the gauge I have to check and voila, measured 42PSI exactly. I've done all the 4 tires. When I finished, I noticed the connector in the cigarette lighter socket got a bit hot (not usual with my old compressor). My old compressor has a digital pressure monitoring system but it is never accurate. At all.
It works well to inflate car tires, and with the included adapter, to also inflate bicycle tires. The air pressure obtained by the pump agrees with the built-in TPM on my car. The only issue I have is the shape of this thing. It is flat like a box, and it does not feel right to lay it down on either side on the pavement to get starched. While it is not heavy, carrying it around is slightly awkward. Some other pumps has a handle and rubber feet that address this issue. Not a deal breaker, but you notice it while working around the car.
As I got it specifically for inflating our pool stuff, and it is SLOW in that regard. I wanted a small air compressor I could leave in my car and plug in to quickly inflate whatever I needed to versus lugging the larger and heavier air compressor from the shed.
Inflates quickly, is relatively quiet, power cord is long enough for small-mid-sized sedans....The air hose is far too short, though. If the valve stem is at 3, 9, or 12 o'clock, the inflator cannot be set down on the ground because the air hose is simply too short. It would need 4-6 inches to allow it to be set down. My vehicle has 18" rims and is a sedan. So if being able to set this down while inflating, you may be out of luck.... This would definitely be an issue if I had to use it for more than 5mins. --- if the tire were completely flat, for instance --- because the inflator does heat up significantly just adding 2-4 psi to ONE tire within the standard size range for a sedan. No way would this inflator be suitable for large tires nor for mini-van sized vehicles. The air hose wouldn't be long enough..... Probably not the power cord either.Because my vehicle was in the shop for body work, I didn't get a chance to test this inflator before the return window closed..... I'm stuck with it.... It works well enough, but definitely would've returned it due to the air hose length issue.
No more waiting in service lines or looking for $2 in quarters at the gas station. Mine just came today. It was quick and easy to use and from the comfort and safety of my own home. Three tires needed air and one was sufficient. I double checked, so I'm confident in the accuracy, although I didn't pull out my pressure gage to confirm (another convenience). It was a gloomy day. The lit screen made it easier to see the screen. + and -touch buttons make it easy to adjust to proper pressure, and M to change units. I don't know why I'm just now getting an air compressor. This is living!
Awesome tire filler. If I’m even slightly concerned the psi is low or uneven, it’s less than 30 seconds to check and fill.
