Poor Quality

I bought one of these years ago for my now passed on cat. I loved it so we just bought one for our new kitty. The quality has definitely gone down hill. The plastic is so cheap now and there's not vent cover anymore. My cat keeps knocking the filter into his litter box. Bring back the one from 10 years ago!

Great purchase

It's great to keep litter contained. The only issues I have are there are no latches to keep it secured together and the litter filter isn't secured either. I have four cats and a new kitten so we have an active home. My kitten Magic pulled the filter out repeatedly until I taped it in then he just shredded it after that. Now we are filterless. It does look good and comes in nice colors.

Regret

I thought this would be a great litter box...wrong. Try as I may, getting the liner to contain the urine failed. My cat must be pushing against the back of the container or something. I have to be very careful when I clean it because the liner around the edge has urine in it. I will clean and donate this litter box and go back to the regular size. Nice concept

Booda Dome Cleanstep litter box

Love this llitter box. Have used this kind for years and years. Love it that an overly zealous cat does'nt scratch the litter all outside of the box. I thought this was going to be more of a pearl color. It turned out to be more taupe. But it still is the greatest litter box I've had.

Bags don’t fit right

It looks cute, however, there’s no bags that can fit in perfectly. Bags are either too loose in there or too tight. The lid doesn’t lock on there. Every time I move the litter box, the whole thing comes apart. It’s just so annoying. My cats don’t like them at all and either do I.

Not Recommended At All

This litterbox certainly looks sleek but that's about where the positives stop. The actual litter pan dimensions are deceptively small because the ramp takes up a lot of the footprint of this litterbox. Since the usable space is small and the shape isn't ideal, it seems like my cats have difficulty maneuvering in the box. Since they have difficulty maneuvering, they don't really cover their business, which leads this litterbox to be much stinkier than the hooded triangular one I replaced. The top half just sort of sits on the lip of the bottom half and could have benefited from some kind of a latch to keep it on better.

Very disappointed in quality overall

Was so excited about this but it is poorly and cheaply designed you can tell immediately. The top half isn’t secured by anything really and my cat just brushed up against and it fell apart. Should be like $10 or they should quit cutting corner on products. Would not recommend. This was supposed to be a gift for a friend who I rehomed a stray kitten too very disappointed

Works well, poor quality

The interior curve and steps keep loose and tracked litter mostly in the box which is great. There’s not an odor issue either. So in that respect it’s great. Unfortunately, the plastic around the opening was sharp and we had to sand it down. The lid doesn’t fit well.

Good but a little short

I have a medium-sized cat (12lbs, is that medium?), but he's getting older and was starting to miss the litter box. So I bought this litter box to curtail that issue. I really liked the idea of the ramp for reducing litter tracking!

Poor quality, arrived dirty and warped

After using all kinds of litter boxes over the years, I purchase the Booda Dome for my elderly cat so she could enter and exit easily. I've had this style of litter box in the past and really liked the functionality and look. I am SO disappointed with this latest purchase! The plastic is thin and flimsy and the lid is so warped it doesn't fit properly on the base. The edges are rough and bits of plastic from the mold are still attached and falling off. This was obviously kicking around a dirty warehouse for a while in addition to being poorly manufactured.

this is an ok litter box, HOWEVER. it would be great if they added side clips to secure the lid in place. I got this so that my dog would stop eating the cat litter, but since this has no secure clips for the lid (like almost every other litter box on the market), the dog can just lift it up with his head and knock off the lid. i dont understand why they didnt add clips

Not the Solution I Hoped For

I needed a box my senior cat could easily get into and that was covered so my other cat, who pees horizontally, couldn’t spray outside the box.

This is large but thin and therefore flimsy.

Just okay

The liner provided in the package did not fit the litter pan, it was too small to fit around the crescent piece of the box. The top fits on fine and prevents my dog from sticking his head too far into the box. The steps help prevent litter from getting out of the box, in combination with a mat at the entry point. However, because i haven’t found a liner that will fit this odd shape, scooping out of this is extremely difficult. I bought two of these items and I would not recommend these for a multicat household that needs multiple litter boxes that get scooped daily. I’d really only recommend this product for a smaller single cat (under 12lbs) household. Not super suitable for two large cats - I will likely be replacing these litter boxes.

Good for ONLY cat(s) and not if you have dog(s)

I have 2 cats (both over 10 years) and a dog (under 2 years) and the dog is a "snickers" eater and will go after the lid of litter boxes to get after the "snickers" and I got this to replace a traditional covered litter boxes. It in no way has latches like the previous one was and there's no way to attach binder clips on the ends to keep it closed. I could use tape but that was only temporary because it wouldn't last long enough for doing the litter change. So I have to look into the hideaway litter box furniture. I had to do the same thing with the trash can because the dog kept getting into that. So if you have ONLY cats, then yes it's very worth it. If you have a convicted "snickers" eater, don't bother unless it's gonna be in a room where the dog can never get to.

buy this box only if you want you room to smell

This is a long term review. My cats have used this box for about 3 years. It was designed by a person that did not understand fluid dynamics. The way the lid mates to the base causes the urine that hits the seam to migrate all the way around the seem causing odor issues. In fact, I am dumping this litter box in the trash where it belongs. I have designed and built a box that corrects this issue. Save your money and buy a litter box some place else. No Petmate, I do not want your suggestions about any product. It is obvious you know little about feline care needs.

Good concept, poorly executed

This litter box is a good idea/concept but was put together very poorly. The section for the filter allows for the filter to fit perfectly in the slot but there are gaping holes on both sides of the handle that defeats the purpose of the filter. The plastic liner that comes with the litter box is not designed or shaped to fit the semi-circle basin (a rectangular bag). There is no mentioning of replacement filters or plastic liners. So if you purchase this litter box, be prepared to research for replacement filters and liners. This product appears to have been cheaply thrown together and will serve the basic functions that a regular hooded litter box does.

Best litter box ever!

This litter box is awesome! I love that it has the steps. Because of those, I’ve been able to use this litter box since my cat was a kitten! She was still easily able to get in and out at her tiny size. And the biggest plus, because of the shape, my dog is not able to access the litter. I recommend this thing to everyone!
