Lamp dimmer

It is a great dimmer. Is nice to have on your nightstand. Works well with new lightbulbs.

As advertised

Dimmer works as advertised using dimmable LED light bulbs. No flicker or drop out.

Overheating/melting risk

While it technically dims the LED lamp I used it with, the function itself is unpredictable and janky and something about the way it functions makes whatever you plug into it heat up to a dangerous level and it melted the plastic of something else on my desk. It is a safety hazard and I would not recommend it.

Used this to cool down a too-hot Crock-Pot

I bought this to use as a device to throttle down the heat on one of m Crock-Pots that runs too hot and boils and scorches foods even on Low. And it does work well for that. I checked the wattage of the Crock-Pot and the maximum wattage for this device, and it's well below the maximum for the CP. With a little trial and error, I was able to find the level that will hold that CP down to a simmer. But then I bought an Instant Pot "Superior Cooker" slow cooker, which I like even better, so this may be used as a lamp dimmer instead.

Have bought these before from this buyer and they are good quality and works well. Pretty much all my table lamps have them as I prefer to be able to dim lights down.

A problem with dimming non-dimmable LEDs is not enough load on the circuit. They are TOO efficient. Adding even a 15 or 25 incandescent bulb can solve many flicker problems. The new filament LEDs that look like a thick thread filament inside don't flicker for me with any old dimmer. In a big lamp I put a Y-socket adapter on top a dimmer. A mix of old LED and I can helps often, but not all LEDs are equal. Using an older dimmer you have to play around and get lucky. The flicker is because the dimmer expects more load, and the math doesn't work with many old LED alone. Good luck.

Wonderful little device. With my arthritis it’s hard to reach up to they often on chain to the lamp and this really helps. I especially like that it dims. I have one in my living room, and also in my bedroom by my bed. Very helpful.

Soft light glow %26 easy off %26 on

Love the ease of adjusting light %26 silent ability to turn off %26 on light. Love being able to give room soft glow.

Perfectly accessible switch/controller

This is the perfect dimmer! The best feature is the cord which allows one to place the switch at a convenient location. My granddaughter's have a bunk bed and we plugged in the device and connected it to a string of blue lights. They can place the remote on either bunk to operate the lights! They love the dimmer function as they can make them as bright or as dim as they want!

Doesn't work. It only flickers! Therefore it is useless.

Good product

This works for me because the cord is a little more relaxed than most so it lays down better and I can go really low on my lighting. I liked it enough to buy it again.

Would have preferred more variations of light

Bought to dim an led Christmas tree (small). All it did was flicker them or turn it all the way off. Did work decently on a regular lamp but there seems to be only 2-3 shade changes with that one. The fact it didn’t work well for its intended purpose is y it got 3 stars.
