Must have additional shelf

This is a must have and worth every penny. I was always looking for a place to put something done. This is a large surface and very sturdy. The shelf easy collapses down for storage and the grill cover still fits

Just love the Shelf!

I love my shelf. It was easy to install on my Pro34 grill. It is big and roomy, and easy to raise and lower. It makes it easy to transfer all my meat and veggies to the grill. I am so glad I got the shelf!

This was at first, just an option, but once I bought it, it turned into a MUST have! This is the perfect addition you don’t know you need!

Very useful. Easily folds out of the way and is sturdy when in its extended position. Definitely would purchase again. I did have to put a couple of “bumpers” on the legs where the shelf touches the legs when folded down in order to prevent chipping of the paint.

Folding shelf: Pro 34

The front shelf is so helpful.I used to have to set items on the pellet hopper, open yhe smoker, grab items and place them on the smoker allowing a lot of heat to escspe. Now. I just place them on shelf, open and place inside. HUGE time saver!

If your Folding Shelf has worn out it's time.

I kept telling myself to get a New Shelf and I finally did it. The shelf came in and the Installation was very Quick and Easy. The reason it was easy was Treager had the base nuts attached to the body of the grill. All you had to do was remove the screws and put them the new brackets back in place and attach the tray. Not having to fight to get the bolts loose was the trick to making this so Easy.

I will be returning this item for a refund. Best Buy took my money. Did not ship my item until I called and asked where the tracking was on my item. When I received my item, it was ripped and taped together and then ripped again. I can’t tell if all of the parts are there and Beat Biy makes you wait 30 before giving you back your money. I do not recommend buying anything at this scam of a store.

Fits my Costco traeger!

The review about buying a Costco Traeger and then buying this Folding front shelf is correct. It fits my Costco Traeger perfectly. It was very easy to assemble. I did not have to drill any holes. I just took out the two holes on the side that was already there and used it to install the front folding shelf. Measure your Traeger make sure it’s 36 inches from side to side.

Front Shelf 34-Series worked on Costco Century 885

The Traeger order desk said they did not have a shelf for my Century 885 D2 unit that I purchased at Costco. I figured it was because they thought it did not have the threaded holes already installed. I decided to purchase the shelf anyway and drill the holes myself and use some other bolts and nuts to attach it. But, when I checked my unit, it already had the threaded holes in place. I installed it in about 10 minutes. Works great. Check your Century 885 D2 for the threaded holes. You may already have them on your unit and the Front Shelf 34-Series will work for you too. The 4 stars is because it is painted and not stainless steel.

Should be included

They're a little vague on what all models fit which grills, so I just measured and ordered off dimensions. I really feel that these should be included for the price of the grills. It's almost an absolute necessity if you don't have a table near by. Super simple to install...all you need is a #2 phillips screwdriver.

Can't Live Without It!

This was one of the first accessories I purchased for my old 34". Really, can't imagine being without it. Makes the management of food in and out of the grill, so much easier. So the ol' 34" has recently been retired and replaced with an Ironwood 885. Literally did not leave the store, without picking up the accompanying shelf to go with it. Simply that ESSENTIAL!

Bought my 34 at the beginning of the year. Love the smoker, especially since it extends my smoking season in the great white north of MN. Scheel’s was great but Traeger, selling a premium smoker without a shelf is like selling a Cadillac with only three tires. I’ll buy one, but this should be standard. Shame on me for not seeing this first. Come on Traeger, give a guy a shelf.

This is probably the most useful thing you could buy for your Traeger!! I didn't have a shelf on my old traeger. I was always trying to hold things in one hand and put things on the smoker with my other hand, because I didn't have anywhere close by to set anything on. Now with the folding shelf, I have a place to set trays right in front of the grill and my problems are solved.

Frustrating at Times

I bought this unit and had great success. However, pellets get stuck in the auger and thus then over flows and then one big combustion and fire everywhere! When it works it is the best thing ever, but last couple times I can't get the pellets to flow smoothly into the chamber to keep constant heat. I at the point of going to another brand since I can't get this one to work correctly. I have to watch it all the time to make sure it has not combusted on me and fire everywhere.

I wish I would have bought this shelf sooner!

This shelf is fantastic. I only wish I would have bought it sooner. This is much easier than using a side table or the lid to the pellet reserviour as a shelf. Having a folding shelf right in front of the grill makes it much easier to handle large pieces of meat while taking it on or off the Traeger. It was very easy to install and the the shelf was well packaged, preventing any damage in shipping. The Traeger grill cover fits nicely over the shelf after installation.

Great addition to my COSTCO Traeger

So I wanted a shelf for the Traeger Smoker I bought at COSTCO only to be told the shelves don't fit the grills marked BBQ which COSTCO Smokers are. I took measurements of the 34 series and compared them to my grill and they are the same. The reason it is listed as not fitting is because the COSTCO Smokers were not pre-drilled and the 4 bracket screws were not installed as are the 34 Series grills. If you are any kind of handyman who can use a tape measurer, a drill, and a level, you can install this on your COSTCO Traeger grill in about 30 minutes. You have to drill 4 holes for the brackets to attach to the grill body, supply 4 nuts and bolts and washers, install the brackets and add the shelf. Very easy. You need a drill, 4 nuts, bolts, washers (or you can use round head machine screws for a neater appearance) and then attach the brackets and then the shelf. I really recommend this (Traeger does not) if you take your time and do it right and if you are good at doing simple after market add-ons.

Get one

This is a great addition and am surprised it's not standard equipment. If you need some shelf space to tend your Traeger then it's a must have item. I found it to be wel constructed sturdy and installed in minutes. My only complaint is that there are no bumpers of any kind when the shelf is folded to prevent it from banging against the legs. After a few uses I noted that the finish was starting to wear and ended up putting some thick vinyl tape on the leg to act as a bumper. Traeger stuff is usually well designed so I'm surprised they don't include a bumper to protect the legs and shelf from rusting. Therefore - 4 stars!

Great Traeger upgrade option

Probably the best accessory you can purchase for your 34" Treager. It's nice to have a place to set pans, dishes and utensils down to keep your hands free. This folding shelf kit is super easy to install with just a Phillips Screwdriver and took only a few minutes to attach. It folds up easily, locks in place and is easily folded away when finished for storage. The Traeger fitted cover still drops right into place with plenty of room to accommodate the add on. It appears to be of good quality and should withstand the rigors of frequent use. I'm very happy with this shelving kit, although a $900 smoker/grill should have come standard with this from the factory in my opinion.
