Assembly tips

Start assembly on its side (use pieces of foam from packaging to act as a spacer to accomodate the overhang of the top piece), then tip upside down to get the back panels & the back braces to more easily shift upwards. I also considered installing the back panels to show the laquered wood surface vs the white surface. It would have been cute but there were noticable splotches of white paint. None of the pieces are labeled but just pay attention to the pictures in the assembly diagram. Holes are also not predrilled for the back panel but the screws provided are self tapping. 1 pers assy/30 min.

We purchased two of these. A very strong, well-made and good-looking cabinet. Rather easy to assemble by one person. My only complaint is that the self-driving wood screws twice cracked the shelving. I recommend drilling a small hole before installing these screws.

Pure Scam. Too bad its sold by Target

I’ll tell you what I don’t like: to be lied to. Target should remove this product from its shelves, it brings no gain but bad reputation to my favorite store and the cost headache to return and restore it. THIS IS NOT WOOD, ITS MADE OF shredded wood

Overall, the bookcase is functional and looks good. However, assembling it was not without problems. There were a couple of places on the instructions that were mistakes. Also, the screws cracked the shelves. If I had seen unit in store would not have purchased it. With it filled with books, the flaws are hidden. Would have returned it but not physically possible for me. Would not recommend to others.

We have bought 10 of these beautiful bookcases over time and have been so pleased with the quality and look. It makes my room into a real library. Couldn’t be happier!

We purchased 2 of the bookshelves. 1 was perfect, the other had a crack through the face of one side and a dent//gouge in one of the permanent shelves. There was no damage to the packaging so this all occurred prior to shipment. That would have dropped it back to 4 stars, but the worse part is the stench coming off both of them. Whatever they used for paint off-gasses a nasty smell which would have been acceptable for a day or two, but it's been a month and it's still stinks in our home office which typically has a window open all day long.

Bookcase and entertainment center

I am very pleased with my purchase and it looks amazing in my home. I was looking for a full wall unit and ended up using 2 bookcases and entertainment center. The delivery and set up was great and the 2 gentleman were very professional. Hihly recommend.

Need drill and patience

None of the pieces are labeled which means trial and error to determine which is the top vs. bottom pieces. You need a drill and very small drill bit as some of the places where screws are needed lack any holes. The two single vertical pieces go on the back but there's no indication as to where they should go. Here's where you need the drill and small bit. Do the top one first but do not tighten too much. Then, line up the other holes, mark carefully and drill the holes in the back of the fixed shelves. There's no way to attach the hardware to the moveable shelves as indicated. If you try, you can't get the shelves in place. Overall, it looks nice once assembled.

Working out great! Strong and durable. Would recommend this product to anyone looking to store many books or items. We actually have these bookcases in our office.

Nice book case, but came with a few flaws that are readily apparent. Directions were awful and pieces were not labeled. Regardless, I was able to put it together and it looks good where we placed it.

poor quality

I ordered one of these a few years ago, and decided to get another one. However, I'm not happy with the quality of the finish - some areas with sparse paint, and there are dark spots on some of the shelves. It also has a strong chemical smell which I'm hoping will dissipate. To difficulty to re-pack and return so keeping it. Otherwise, the design and sturdiness are good.

I’m in my 70’s. I put this together alone. The difficult part was standing it up & moving it to the next room. Very solid & heavier than most bookcases. Some shelves are not adjustable which is the only negative I can give, but I can work around this. Happy with this purchase.
