Poor packaging

The experience with this product has been disappointing. After three attempts to acquire the shower base, I’ve decided to give up on it. It seems that it was just not meant to be. The packaging appears to be the main issue; it felt too fragile. However, I want to acknowledge that The Home Depot made every effort to assist and accommodate. So be aware of the potential headaches of having to go through multiple deliveries to get an undamaged shower base.

The shower base was pretty easy to install it will be a nice item as the seat is built into it and stop any water leaks.

This was exactly what we needed for our new ensuite bath. The seat is perfect for shaving my legs. Delivery was easy and quick.

Unsafe

Although the seating area has a texture to it, it is slick as ice when wet and very unsafe to sit on.

The direction for installing this shower pan are so vague. The side of the shower pan that is not attached to the walls,(where you step in) is higher then the entire bottom of the base. More so towards the seat. The direction say, "Position 2” (51 mm) to 2-1/2” (64mm) mounds of floor-leveling compound at the base feet."

Arrived professionally packaged, but had small chip in bottom that was able to be hidden under floor tile. Notified Build.com who offered an cash incentive or a new base. Because I was able to hide crack I opted for the cash option. Unit is strong and heavy and will take two people to install. Make sure you utilize Structolite under the base to create a level surface. Homeowner was more than pleased with the look and feel of the pan. It offers a very modern look to a bathroom.
