Good rug for its purpose

I bought a rug of this material for a vacation home that has had mildew problems in the past. I normally would only buy wool. I am impressed with the softness of the rug for the bedroom where I‘m using it. The design detail is very „distressed“ and i do like the sharper design details better in other rugs by this company I have also purchased.

I like this rug after having it for well over a month now, but it smelled horribly for weeks. It was also very lumpy after being rolled out, but laying heavy books on it helped speed up flattening. I was also very surprised that this is actually a Safavieh rug, not Union Rustic (or whatever Wayfair is calling it). The label on the rug was Safavieh and after I looked it up, I was able to find it other places for much less. Returning the rug to Wayfair was going to be a hassle so I kept it, but it doesnt feel like Wayfair was being transparent about the product. Overall, the rug has a great neutral pattern, but it is definitely not an expensive feeling rug, it does clean well and is cost effective for someone that has pets and kids and replaces rugs regularly.

Affordable & Stylish!

Ordered the ivory/grey in 9x12. Shipping took 3-4 weeks to arrive in Canada. Fully expected it to have a chemical smell upon opening, which it did. Let it air out in our basement for a few days, and now that I’ve had it a week there is still a slight smell, particularly if you’re sitting on it. Bought to put in our living room for a better play space for kids, and looks. More cushion than I expected, but wasn’t expecting any cushion! Great to vacuum, and after a week still has a few spots that aren’t completely flat, but nothing I don’t expect to eventually flatten out. Slightly plastic-y feel to it/not super soft, but this was also what I expected for the price. Grey is a true grey with lighter/faded areas being more of a cool silvery shade. Overall, happy with it! If you’re looking for a high quality, plush rug this is not for you. If you’re looking for an affordable and stylish option, go for it! Just expect that it’ll take a couple weeks before you can fully enjoy it due to smell and creases. (my reason for 4 stars)

Attractive but a little disappointing for Safavieh

I have bought many Safavieh area rugs over the years. I trust this brand and always get their rugs on Overstock. I really like this design, but this was not my best experience with a Safavieh rug for 3 reasons: 1) it has a very strong chemical smell that is lingering much longer than usual (several weeks); 2) when I unrolled it, it was much bumpier/lumpier than usual and is taking a lot longer than usual to settle down into a flat state (several weeks); and 3) it is not as soft and plush as the other Safavieh rug I purchased at the same time, also made of synthetic material (which was softer, not bumpy at all, and barely had any smell which disappeared after a few days).
