Can't go wrong
LOVE this. Was shopping around for a skillet and after doing quite a bit of research I decided to go with this brand and style after reading several consumer reviews. It was on "sale" for $275 which is a formidable amount of money. I've been using it several times a week to sauté my vegetables and I absolutely love it. It's heavy. It cleans VERY easily. And hopefully it is as non-toxic as they claim it to be. I like the fact that it's made in France. I highly recommend this product. I am very happy and satisfied with how this product performs thus far. It's been almost one month since I've been using it. It better outlive me!
Absolutely Stunning!
I ordered the Grenadine color because it has the 3 layers of enamel and such an incredible finish. I liked the domed Glass lid, and I ordered a Staub Lobster knob for it. I love it. It is larger than I expected, but the pan is really a great everyday pan. The limited time offer was too good to pass up. It is my first Staub piece. I have Le Creuset, Lodge, and others, and this is "supreme". It is a treat for me. I am so pleased to have it.
You will love this pan!
We love this pan. It is visually beautiful, of course! It performs marvelously
Love this braiser sauce pan
I love how it gives even cooking. It retains heat long enough its amazing. I am surprised how the glass lid is so light yet durable. The only disappointment I have is why a white substance after washing is visible. I wonder if it will go away or is there a diff way to wash it because I followed exactly the instructions on how to wash it at Zwilling website. other than that, I am very happy with this product!
Versatile workhorse in my kitchen
I honestly cook with this thing more than any other pan. It's basically an enameled cast iron but it's got three things going for it that cast iron does not: a coating that doesn't have to be seasoned, two handles instead of one small handle, and a lid. Perfect for braising, especially (I purchased this when it was called a "braiser"). It handles anything a skillet would. It is moderately nonstick, so you can easily do fried eggs in here with enough fat, but I haven't had nearly as much luck with scrambled. Even works for rice or pasta dishes where you would pull the Dutch oven or a deeper pot out. I just adore it.
My first Staub
This is a beautiful piece of cookware. Very well made. Great choice of colors. Wonderful size. Was lucky to have it on sale plus rewards points, great price.😀 Cooks evenly. Made spaghetti and meatballs first thing! Superb! Perfect size, will enjoy for years and hope it gets passed on to the next generation 😀!
Beautiful and versatile pan!
I wanted a braising pan like this for so long but I just couldn’t justify the price. When this one went on sale at Williams Sonoma, I jumped on the offer and I’m so glad I did!
ITEM COLOR COMBINATION IS NOT SOLD AS ADVERTISED!
Super excited as I finally got to buy this braiser. I had being eyeing it for a while and made up my mind when I saw the beautiful eucalyptus mint and brass color way. It looked beautiful esthetically online and I couldn't wait to start my collection one by one. Unfortunately when I arrived home and opened it, the glass lid came with a silver lid not the gold. I thought maybe it was an error in packaging so called the store to see if it could be exchanged for the right one.
Great Pan for Cooking, Hard to Keep New Looking
I've used this pan several times since its purchase and I love cooking in it. The depth is nice for doing double batches and the clear lid is also a nice cooking feature. I deducted one star because while it's dishwasher safe, the brown staining on the bottom of the pot from cooking on an electric stove doesn't come off and makes this light green pan look old/well used pretty quick. Not the biggest deal in the world, otherwise a great pan.
Not impressed. Stainless steel knob & sticks
I’m watching YouTube videos to find out why my Staub cast iron keeps sticking no matter what I do. Ugh! I also just noticed underneath the glass lid
This One is a Keeper
This is ombré colored. Which REALLY disappointed me. Thought about returning it but didn't. So glad I didn't. It's a wonderful pan. Somehow airtight even though cover fits loosely over the pan. Didn't need to add more liquid to the meat I simmered. And all I did was jostle the pan and the condensation would run back into the pan and allow me to look at my roast. And wow, what a roast. Get this pan!
Great purchase, except for one flaw
I just received this product a few days ago, and its functionality is great! I absolutely love the glass lid – it is so much easier to see what I am cooking with this feature. One disappointment for me is that the product photo featured a gold knob on top, which would look absolutely beautiful in my kitchen. I was very disappointed to discover that the knob is silver, so I feel a bit duped. I recommend that Crate&Barrel updates their product photo to truly show what the eucalyptus color/knob combination looks like so people know what to expect when they order.
Almost a year later and still LOVE it!
I purchased this pan almost a year ago and I'm thrilled to say it was money very well spent. I use this almost daily, in the oven and on stove top, and I've not had any issues whatsoever with the finish or inside coating. It's as new looking today as it was the day I unboxed it. I primarily wash it by hand but occasionally I do put it in the dishwasher. It's so versatile it's the one pan I reach for constantly for everything from searing meat to baking a casserole. The absolute only negative thing I can say is it's a little heavy but if you're looking for lightweight cast iron is not an option. Personally I deal with the weight issue because I love the way it cooks. I've become very spoiled by all my Staub cast iron and I just cannot get the same perfect results from any other brand. Thank you Staub for making excellent cookware!
Everyday pan
Our old nonstick pans were starting to show their age and I wanted to look for an alternative that didn't have as many chemicals and was easier to clean than a cast iron. Enter - Staub. I also have one of their cocotte's that I use for everything from pasta to pot roast. This braiser is no exception! You can do eggs, stir fries, really anything that you'd normally saute or cook in a pan. I think some people might be turned off by the lack of long handle, but you really don't need it as much as you think. Just make sure you grab a towel or potholder if you need to grab the handles - we are all very used to grabbing whatever pans are on our stove tops but this gets hot! We use it pretty much everyday, love the Staub line.
Quality control needed
I've purchased this item twice in the sage color. Shipping was very fast. The reason I had to purchase it twice was because both the original and the replacement did not have the glass lid included in the box. The pan itself is beautiful, heavy, and exactly the right size for our family. WS customer service has been easy to deal with and very effective. I assume this is a quality control issue with Staub and am extremely disappointed. I cannot wait to use the pan but I really bought it for the lid. Please, Staub, do better packaging.
Best pan/pot for everything!
I love, love, love this pan! Have it in the sapphire color, very good quality product. Great for searing and frying, one pot meals and soups. Makes a beautiful presentation from oven/stove top to table with the domed glass lid. Cleans up very easily. Would definitely recommend to everyone. Would make a great gift! Looking forward to buying more matching pieces that I could use.
Disappointed with quality
I’ve always read how fabulous Staub’s quality is and I’ve always wanted to try an enameled cast iron pan so I was so excited to get this on sale. The first pan came with the enamel chipped on the handle, exposing the cast iron below, so I returned it. The return process was quick and easy. I got the second pan immediately, used it once. I just noticed that the glass lid has a giant chunk take out of it. I’m not rough on my pans, it wasn’t dropped, and even if it was, I’d expect it to be able to take a little wear and tear. I threw out the packaging bc it was perfect when I got it so it can’t be returned again, and now I’m stuck with a brand new broken pan. Definitely disappointed in Staub’s durability. Guess I’m sticking with Lodge cast iron. The pan gets 2 stars instead of 1 bc it’s Staub’s issue, not William Sonoma’s. WS’s return process was super smooth and efficient nd I’m very happy with them.
Stains in the pan do not come off.
I made pan roasted Brussels sprouts with three tablespoons of olive oil on medium heat. The sprouts were very good, Unfortunately the pan is badly stained. I let the pan cool and then washed it in warm water with Dawn detergent. Stains did not come off. I wiped it down with mineral oil and the stains remain. I've been cooking fifty plus years with cast iron skillets and have never run into issues like this.
Don't know what your missing until you try this Braiser!!
Love, love love my 3.5 qt Braiser. As someone who refuses to spend money on anything, I splurged on this item. So far, since receiving it, I have never put it away!! I use it everyday to cook on. Cleans easily, retains heat perfectly, and YES, my food comes out tasting better because of it. I have since purchased a few more items from Staub and threw out my old pots and pans. Only took my 50 some odd years to buy myself this pan, What a surprise!! They do make a difference. If you are on the fence line, don't wait. I promise you will not regret this purchase. Beautiful to look at too! Learning to cook, and enjoying cooking all over again!!
Loved it so much, bought a 2nd as a gift
I've been using min in the La Mer color for over 2 years now. I love it so much I purchased this one in cranberry red for my om as a Christmas gift. It matches her Staub Dutch oven (her favorite) so I know she'll enjoy this one, too. The glass lid is wonderful. I love making bone-in chicken thighs on the stove top. In under 30 minutes, the meat is fall off the bones tender, has a nice sear, and I add the veggies directly to the same pot. An all in one savory meal complete with a bit of drippings gravy.
