Length of screws are a problem

The handles are beautiful. The come with two lengths of screws, but to cut the longer screws for the accurate length is nearly impossible. I had to purchase other screws from a hardware store.

I was a little disappointed- the top of the handle was not as flat as I thought it would be and the finish is “brown” (not oil rubbed bronze).
