Measurements are wrong

We measured out sleeper sofa, and read measurements on item. The sleeper sofa mattress was almost 2" narrower than the ad said. We had to return. We used the old saying of, "measure twice, cut once", and the mattress was still too narrow.

Comfortable mattress replacement for sofa bed

Big improvement using this on an older sofa bed. I use the original mattress that came with couch under this one and it's much more comfortable now. This one folds up and stores in the couch as well, which is a big plus! Still sags in the middle slightly but not the fault of the mattress. Using at summer cottage for occasional guests.

The TRUTH about this mattress

This mattress is specifically made as a sofa bed pull out replacement mattress. It must be 4.5 inches thick in order to be folded back into the sofa itself. Measure your old sofa mattress first, to see what size you need. My old mattress was a full size, and also was only 4 inches thick. So I ordered the full size replacement. Upon opening the new mattress, it is compressed flat and rolled up for shipping. Once it's completely unwrapped it will plump up to its exact size within 24 hours. The is absolutley NO SMELL, other than the slight scent of the new foam. The instructions say to let the mattress fluff up and air out for a day or so, before using it. This is common sense. The foam is of a high quality, but of course it's support is just as much as you would expect to get from a 4.5 inch thick mattress on a sleeper sofa frame. The mattress has a cloth zip off cover that can be washed. But its best to protect the mattress with an additional mattress cover, in case of spills, etc. If you are a heavy or bigger person, you obviously need a thicker foam/coil spring mattress to support your needs, as well as an actual bed with a box spring or platform. Logic being that a 4.5 inch foam mattress is not supportive for a heavier person. I bought this mattress to replace an old mattress in an old sleeper sofa. The mattress is firm enough, dense enough, and serves the purpose for what it was intended to be used for. The mattress arrived in a box, in clean and sanitary packaging. For the cost of this mattress the quality is well worth it. If you expected more, then you have to buy for a more expensive mattress to suit your physical needs. I am very happy with my purchase. I do recomend this item to others.

Everything I thought it would be and more

I purchased this for a new sleeper sofa I purchased separately. It fit perfect. There were no strange odors. It was amazing how small it was when opened and it plumped up just like it said it would. I found the best price for identical mattresses on Walmart and have not been disappointed. I am considering purchasing it again for another bed in our houseboat.

It Grows Like A Magic Mushroom!

This is s comfortable memory foam mattress. It came in a narrow, long box. When I took it out, it was about 3/4's inch thick! It rapidly grew to 4-inches thick...not the 4.5-inches as advertized...although I don't think the extra half-inch makes a difference to its comfort. It's also an inch wider - 54"- than advertized which is 53-inches. It's length was as advertized. Very nice and comfy. I do recommend this mattress.

Fall asleep in 10 min

Very very comfortable and material is extremely vented . The box it comes in fits in the back seat of a any car. Once you take it out of it’s vacuumed air sealed bag it slowly comes to life and makes the perfect replacement for a standerd spring mattress which usually come in a sofa bad. You can even throw it on top for even more cushion comfort.

Not my cup of tea

This mattress is not 4.5 inches. I really needed a firmer mattress. This is my first time buying one and should have spent alittle more. Hope this helps someone. Mattress pad is pretty and nice. Other then that quality of foam is nice.

Good comfort in a sofa mattress.

I've only had the mattress for a couple weeks; guests have slept on it only a few times. However, their comments have indicated it's a good mattress. We had an inflatable mattress on the sofa bed before we bought this one; our guests say this one is more comfortable.

I would not buy this product from JET.

The mattress never reached anything like the promised 4.5", even after four days. It was under 3" at the top and bottom, and the sides were a hair over 2 1/2". I contacted the manufacturer who sent me a replacement that started expanding the minute I took it out of the plastic wrapper. If you buy this mattress, don't buy it from Jet. They must have old or defective stock. Customer service did volunteer to replace it, but the process was a little complicated, involving the carrier coming to box it up. The manufacturer simply sent me a new one and suggested I donate the old one to a shelter or something, which is complicated in NYC, but I will try.

Expanded to 3" thick instead of 4.5"

In our case, the mattress expanded back to 3 inches and doesn't look like the one in the picture, but because we're keeping the original mattress on the pull out couch, it will be ok. If the new mattress was any thinner, we'd probably be able to fold it up into the couch with the current mattress, but we have to remove it and store it elsewhere before folding up the couch. The shape of the new mattress is more like a mattress topper than a mattress.

Not just for guests!

Bought this mattress to replace the awful original coil mattress that came with the beautiful leather sofa bed I had just purchased at a consignment store. My sister just came for a visit, slept on the sofa bed, and said the mattress was sooooo good. So, when I got home from dropping her off at the airport yesterday for her early morning flight, I went back to sleep, but decided to try out the sofa bed mattress before I folded it up. I'm a really bad sleeper, so when I say this was the best 4 hours of sleep I've had in a very, very long time, it says a lot. This mattress was so comfortable. I didn't toss or turn once. Didn't feel the bar of the frame at all. I completely recommend this mattress to anyone using it for guests or even for themselves in a small apartment. Worth every penny.
