Multiple Failures in 4 years

I purchased this lock from Lowes for $200 in Dec 2020. I liked the feature set, and the lock was exactly what I was looking for in a smart lock.

Life changing

I was a bit reluctant about this device but instead I decided to try and it literally works fantastic and allows all my supplies to flow into my restaurant without having any issues.

It was the best lock I could find feature-wise. It ticked off all the boxes for me. The locks feel high quality to the touch and look great.

Great Purchase - Solid Investment - Worth the Money

The ULTRALOQ U-Bolt Pro Series came highly recommended by a friend of mine that I use as my handyman when I need assistance with putting something together at my new apartment. The U-Bolt Pro series set itself apart from the rest of the competition for several reasons. First, there are three ways to gain entry (fingerprint, numerical code, or physical key). So if for whatever reason, one way fails, there isn't any risk of potentially being locked out of my apartment. The friend who helped me install it came across a problem during setup and ULTRALOQ's Customer Support team was readily available to consult with in order to rectify the issue. Their assistance and guidance led to the successful installation of the Smart Lock and now, I am a very happy customer. I don't know if there will be anything else I need in the near future, but just in case, I will definitely use ULTRALOQ's products as my first choice.

Wasn’t worth the upgrade

The pro wasn’t worth the money to upgrade from the regular version. I wanted the fingerprint option for ease of use for my family, but you can only have 2 separate fingerprint users. And this new lock sticks and jams when actuating. Save your money

Works great

I replaced an existing deadlock and installation was easy. I am using fingerprint recognition and password and they work great. I would recommend this buy.

The product is well made and the electronics seem competent and durable, time will tell.

It was fine for a little then out of nowhere it starts beeping constantly like 30 beeps every 5 mins it’s annoying and the fingerprint scanner quit working this product is buns I wouldn’t recommend

One of the worst products I've ever purchased

As a software engineer, I enjoy high tech gadgets so when I purchased a new home, I figured I would try these smart locks. Right away, the installation was a massive pain because it requires extremely precise alignment to avoid getting jammed. Then, wifi refused to stay connected on my wireless mesh setup, so I set up a dedicated 2.4GHz wireless AP just for the locks but they still would randomly disconnect/disable wifi all the time. The door open sensor is so unreliable I stopped using them so now these are basically just really expensive coded locks. What a waste, would never recommend these to anyone at this point.

Great Customer Support

I’ve had three U-Bolt Pro’s in my house for a 3+ years. Unfortunately one failed. It was out of warranty but the support team worked with me to get me a discounted replacement in a short period of time. While I wasn’t thrilled about the lock failing the support in replacing it was great

Works Great!

Install took 5 min and it started working perfectly. One thing that wasn’t clear to me from the start was that you create codes in the app instead of on the keypad. That makes sense but in a lot of smart products you start on the device itself. I love starting and keeping the codes in the app, it just wasn’t clear to me that you start there for creating codes.

Good code lock otherwise useless!

From the beginning, I have had issues with the lock. When I purchased it, the app software had recently been updated; adding fingerprints was not a simple task in that update. There did not appear to be any way forward from the page showing where and how to press your finger for it to record. I tried contacting support to no avail, so I contacted Amazon; from this, I got a phone call from Ultraloq US support. They updated the software eventually allowing me to enter fingerprints. Sadly the fingerprints from various people entered okay and worked once and then no longer worked. I have tried this several times with the same result.

REMOTE SECURITY

I am so happy with the remote accessibility! We use this with our Airbnb and our commercial multi tenant building. I can make sure our properties are always secure!

5 units over 3 years

We have 5 of these locks throughout the house, purchased mid 2021. The two main locks are no longer responsive to the app or keypad inputs. Basically the electronic motor is out. U-tech does not offer a means to repair the lock, only a “sorry your product is no longer under warranty”. Ultimately this is just another consumable on its way to a landfill. We will not be buying another U-tech product.

A bit disappointing

I don’t typically like giving reviews, good or bad but I hate to say it but I’m in the same category as some customers. I’ve had a pro for about two years, finger print reader quit working, keypad is the only thing holding on. Can’t update the firmware, factory reset it so many times. Customer service helped me for about two days then went radio silent. I suppose it wouldn’t be so bad if they would at least not leave me hanging. Like everything nowadays you only get something to work for about two years. This has certainly been helping me work on my patience but I’m throwing in the towel and throwing this thing in the trash.

U-Bolt Pro

Fits our needs and works great. Pretty simple to install just be sure to follow programing instructions. We have the automatic lock setting programmed. The deadbolt will engage with the door open. We have whacked the trim a few time trying to close the door with the deadbolt engaged. We must unlock the unit after leaving the door open...it will lock properly once the door is shut.

Love this lock...but...

These locks are awesome as far as the interface and connectivity. This is my 5th ultraloq item to own, however, i only have 3 doors with these locks. I am on my 3rd lock for my front door, which is the most used, but these are quite expensive to have to replace every two years or less. The first one was "somewhat" replaced under warranty. They sent a new fingerprint reader portion of the lock which I had to switch out the mechanical lock from my old fingerprint reader, not a big deal, but not a true "replacement" of the defective lock. The replacement has since failed and I opted to purchase a new lock and start fresh. I do like these locks though, the ease of setting them up is superior to kwikset and schlage as well, which are more expensive than the ultraloq.

Eats Through Batrteries & Poor Finish

Second posting of this review. The lock and handle are handsome, but as soon as the lock set was installed - and nearly a year later it malfunctions. It burns through 4 "AA" batteries every 10-12 days! I follow the instructions and don’t use lithium or rechargeable batteries. There is no indication the battery level is low and a change is necessary before it fails to operate.

Garbage

Originally purchased my ULTRALOQ U-Bolt Pro Series - U-Bolt Pro Z-Wave direct from this website in October 2022. Fit and finish on the hardware are excellent and the installation instructions easy to follow. The initial setup was flawless and I had no issues for the first few weeks.... then it went downhill. I've now had Ultraloq (generously) replace my unit TWICE due to problems. Initially I had extremely fast battery drain; to the point that I was changing out batteries weekly. Then even with fresh batteries, the electronics wouldn't respond. I couldn't use my phone, fingerprint, or the keypad to make the lock function. I had to resort to carrying the key with me everywhere, which sort of defeats the purpose of this fancy lock. Then I had issues with my passcodes randomly resetting. There were multiple occasions where I would input my code and the lock wouldn't respond. Checking the app I could see that no valid codes were setup in my profile (even though I'd set them up and used them in the past). Next were issues with fingerprints. For some reason the app would retain my fingerprint calibration, but would not keep my wife's. Every few weeks we had to recalibrate her fingerprint. The final issue was a culmination of almost all of the above. I had setup a guest passcode and calibrated fingerprints for our pet sitter to check on our animals while we were out of the country. One day the lock worked fine, but the next day it didn't. She couldn't unlock using her passcode or fingerprint and I couldn't unlock it remotely. The unit had power, but would not respond. I had to call a friend who keeps a copy of the key to come over and let her in. After fighting with multiple replacement units over two years, I've finally thrown this away and replaced it with a competitor's product. Ultraloq promises a lot, but does not delivery. Don't waste your money.

Don’t work

Bought this lock because it looks good but it’s really a piece of junk, finger print works 1 out of 15 tries which I’m ok with that but what really ****** me off is that the Auto Unlock never works, it works once in awhile when ever it feels like it. I’ve reset the lock, reinstalled the app, very very unreliable!!
