I love this lock. I like that I can use a key if I want to, or use a code if I don't. I like it so much that I bought one for my other homes as well. The first one I had trouble setting up the wifi, and the technical support on the phone walked me through it. Easy peasy.
[Rewarded Review] Best smart lock I’ve purchased
Easy to set up, very versatile in how you can lock and unlock and it’s packed full of features and notifications for safety
Eats batteries, not fully WPA2 compliant
Put this on a door that's hardly ever used, meaning less than 10 times a year. Stayed locked, was lined up with strike plate, Wi-Fi signal is good, no lock interaction. Had to change batteries every 2-3 weeks. No notification from the app, only an LED on the lock that I never see.
Awesome Lock
This is a great lock. I have several of them and absolutely love the functionality of it. It is a quality product and built to last. Highly recommend this to anyone looking for a smart lock.

Great lock and features
The lock works with WiFi, Alexa, and Google to provide service without having additional hardware to communicate when we’re away from home.
Excellent Product
Home Depot customer service was excellent as usual. Lock is very easy to install, directions are clear and well written. Each step of the instructions corresponds to a separately packed set of hardware. Lock programming and rekeying to a current key are both super simple. Overall a quality product at a reasonable price point.
lock last about a yr
we have had this lock for about 4yrs and have replaced it 3 times (luckily thru warranty) the first time we changed internet providers and it wont delete the old wifi settings and locked up, the other 3 times the touch screen stopped working. but the last time which was a few months ago just happened to stop working a month after the warranty expired and the response you get from kwikset is you must buy a new lock. wouldn't buy another kwikset if i absolutely had to.
Easy install
Took my time using phone/app instructions then installation booklet to complete when I couldn’t find link to referenced video. Booklet was easier than app instructions. Adding codes and people was easy as well as date parameters.
Good value for the price
I haven't had any issues with it as of yet. 4 stars because it is kind of loud and takes longer than my impatient self would like, to unlock haha
[Rewarded Review] Kwickset
It works. Could use some features. But does the job.
I installed the Kwikset Halo Touchscreen Wi-Fi Enabled Smart Lock - An Excellent and Convenient Remote WiFi Access System
I installed a Kwikset Halo Touchscreen Wi-Fi Smart lock and matching matt black door handle on my new cabin door. The smart lock installed very easily. And the WiFi technology is amazing. I can be anywhere in the world and check to see if the door is secure. Or send a code to a friend to get in. The only issue I had with the install, make sure to ream out the latch bolt hole into the jam deep enough to secure the bolt latch. If it's not at least an inch deep, you will get a "Jammed" Message in the app. Not to worry. When it jammed, in my case it stayed locked, but I couldn't unlock it remotely. I simply looked through the bolt hole strike plate and realized I didn't punch the bolt hole deep enough. Once I did that, the WiFi and hardware system work great. I also installed the same lock in my Southern Oregon home. I can monitor and control both locks via WiFi. During programming the lock, just follow the online instructions. Be patient and it all comes together nicely. The hardware and appearance is really top of the line. I highly recommend it if looking to purchace a quality locking system to secure and also to control access into your home remotely.
Great lock for easy entrance into home. If you forget to lock it, no worries will lock itself in 30 seconds.
We had a Kwikset smart lock on the door previously so installation was easy. So far the lock works great and the app is easy to navigate. Very happy with the purchase.
Lock works exactly as it should. The instructions are very easy to follow so installation went well. The app is easy to use and setting new codes is simple.
Easy install
It was a quick and easy install. The fact that I can lock and unlock the front door when I'm away from home is a great feature.
Great lock until it is not
For the first 2 years my halo lock worked very well and had no issues. Now, when power goes out or even flickers I get no connection. Their technician says I have to pull battery out to reset. Never had to do this before. How can I take battery out when I live 1500 miles from my vacation home. Technician was no help when I said the first few years it always reset itself. That tells me lock went faulty right after warranty and they offer me nothing to replace the lock. Needless to say it is going in the garbage
Worked great
Changed out an old electronic lock with this one for the WiFi. Works great.
DO NOT BUY! Worst product ever made!
I’ve had this lock about 18 months and I would not even consider another Kwikset product because this thing is so bad. Batteries last a month, if I’m lucky. Then it completely seems to forget that it had WiFi and Bluetooth connections when the batteries get replaced. Reconnecting that stuff is a total nightmare. I usually just give up. What’s the point of having a smart lock if those features are not even being used because the experience is so bad?
Easy Setup
Found the Halo Touchscreen on sale at HD. From start to finish, it maybe took me an hour. That included painting the door. The best feature is the kwikset smartlock which allowed me to key it to my original key. We have those throughout the house. The wifi setup was a breeze. The only hiccup was I was pushing the wrong button to put the lock in pairing mode. Besides that, it was a breeze. It looks really nice and matches the existing hardware well. Paired with Alexa in a snap and worked great!
