I'm a huge fan of Philips Warm Glow and the fact that they get warmer as they dim. During some renovations I didn't want to retain, or install new, light cans but couldn't find anything other than the Warm Glow bulbs. These Duo brights fit the bill almost perfectly. In some ways they're better because they are cooler than Warm glows at 100% which is a nice additional function.

Very very easy to install. Love the color ranges. I used the Lutron CTCL-153PDH dimmer with this and was very happy. You can have daybright if you are working on something or dim all the way down and use as night lights. My husband was also very happy with them.

I installed the Globe Electric, 4 inch, tunable LED recessed light with Duo Bright technology to continue to improve energy use and quality of light bringing my home lighting into the 21st Century. My home is 100% LED, but some older LED light fixtures can use up to 30 watts while newer ones not only last longer (50,000 hours) but only use 6 to 9 watts of power. Every month my energy use sets new record lows over previous years. I also live in hurricane prone Florida where every summer there is the possibility of having to rely for extended periods on my in home natural gas generator. Lowering my required energy use makes my family home more resilient during those periods. Duo Bright is a new technology that allows you to change color range as you use your dimmer. Other technologies have a selector switch which gives the option to choose a particular color or has a preset color that can’t be changed. Your dimmer with the old technology only reduces lumens but doesn’t change color. Duo Bright changes color as you dim so you can have a truer bright sunny day look or a superior sunset glow. Light color is important as it affects your natural body rhythms. This fixture is super easy to install. Simply cut the proper size hole and snap it in place. In addition, it incorporates a wonderful technology and is a good buy so I highly recommend it.

The Globe Electric 4 in. LED light which is also dimmable and color changeable (with the use of a dimmer switch) is made for recessed lighting applications. Because of the wiring in my old recessed light I had to call an electrician to do a little re-wiring in order to hook this light up. I plan on replacing my old recessed bug light over my fireplace with this light and the dimmable and color feature will truly accent the fireplace. The junction box which is also attached to the fixture. It comes with quick connection plugs which will make for quick connection once I get the new wiring. I can't wait to get this installed and enjoy it. I have seen them powered up and they are really great looking.

The light is 4" inside diameter.The original configuration looks like a board up to 7/8" thick would work fine. The cutout is 4.25 " in diameter. I marked the board and then cut is with a scroll saw. It seems like as close to 4" in diameter the better. If you do not want to cut a 4 inch hole in the cabinet, you could mount it upside down by screw to the spring clips onto the surface; and it would hang down about 1 1/4 inches away from the surface. The clips allow the light to pull out to remove the light. The light is intensely bright white full on with a dimmer but drops off rapidly to a nearly orange glow but never goes to zero with my test dimmer. The knock-outs are for the basic 1/2 inch wire connectors. The switch has an on/off switch. The wire connector clips are for 3 wires for each clip. You push a wire into one of the holes until you see the wire through the clear plastic. Light works without ground but your dimmer may need ground. Thus you could daisy chain multiple lights. You can get an inserted light out again by pulling gently on the wire while rotating the clip back and forth. I prefer the snap clips of this type connector as there is more surface area touching the wire. Nice looking... Has a white flexible, flat ring to dress the light in The surface.

This is a LED light that is dimmable and color changeable (with the dimmer switch) made for recessed lighting applications. The 5000-kelvin range is a very bright, crisp white, while the 3000-kelvin light range is similar to regular, incandescent color range. This produces 540 lumens, which is nice and bright, but only uses 9 watts of power. These are EPA Energy Star certified. Installation is a breeze with the spring loaded mounting system, just open the springs, and hold open as you insert the LED in the opening, then the spring with hold the light in place. A hole size template is included, which requires a 4.25" hole, the overall diameter of the light is 5", which is confusing, as the light is labeled as a 4" light. The junction box comes with quick connections, which I did not use, instead I cut and striped the wire and used regular electrical twist on electrical nuts.
