Horrible Stove

This stove couldn't heat a 400 sq ft cabin. Bought this new, installed it and instantly regretted buying it. Took it out the next day and purchased a real wood stove. This stove doesn't have an adjustable air flow, smokes HORRIBLY from all the joints. This unit has a baffle that covers the flue. The company will just try and make it your fault by saying "is there an airflow problem in your flue/chimney?" If you have any doubts, just look on the wood stove groups on Facebook, everyone will tell you just how crappy these things are and to not buy it. I promise, this stove won't last a year.

Very happy

I bought this on sale to heat my 600 sq ft uninsulated workshop. Waning the stovepipe and other installation parts cost 3 times the price of the stove. The instructions are concise and easy to follow. Assembly took less than 30 min and requires 2 people to flip and place the stove in position. Total instal of piping took about 4 hours working by myself at a leisurely pace. I suggest pre burning it outside because the paint gives off a bad smell. This adds a day or two but in my case was well worth it. Fit and finish was good with no smoke leakage. It has a single burn rate so there is no temp control other than how much wood you load in. While we don’t get much below the low 30s here it keeps my shop toasty warm. Over all I’m very happy with the outcome.

Great Quality

I had a Vermont Casting stove for 20 years. I replaced it with this little guy. I'll use it to supplement my oil burner on cold days and not to heat the entire house like I used to. Tractor Supply in Claverton was awesome. The stove is perfect. Great value for the money for sure. The casting was 100% and went together flawlessly. I would recommend this stove to anyone who wants to enjoy wood heat at a very reasonable price. I'm very happy with my purchase. 5☆☆☆☆☆

Hot Little Thing.

This tiny, no-frills stove does a great job supplementing the heating system in our 3,000 sq ft. home. We needed this because our fireplace and chimney needed too much work to operate as it was intended to 50 years ago, so we gutted the chimney and installed this. It's perfect and works as it says it should when the directions are followed. Must be cold outside to operate or the flow is challenging to manage. Comes with a thermometer to gauge heat of metal.

If you love a smoky house to the point your eyes balls are on fire just from sitting then this product is for you!!!! Absolute garbage!!!!!. It’s not different than putting a small unvented camp fire in my living room. I’ve used this product at two locations now. I thought the 1st location was just a poor instal job because it would so incredibly smoky in the house. I used it once and then never used it again. But I moved so I So I installed it myself at a new location. The stack system is absolutely air tight. Yet it’s STILL incredible smoky!!!!! Two locations. Two different installs. Exact same results. Which are they don’t exist. This thing has zero air flow. Closing the door snuffs the flame out. Leaving it open, even a crack, causes extreme smokiness. And yes the damper is open and yes tons of smoke is also coming out of the vent. But about 25% is coming in the house and it’s incredibly smoky beciase of it. Should be illegal to sell such a junky product really. When did the world lose its quality control? And can sell anything for any amount whether works or not. Absolute trash product!!!!!!!! Pull it off the shelf Home Depot. You should be ashamed and embarrassed to even sell such junk. Makes your store look bad selling junk.

Came broken and waiting for replacement.

We're not happy how the original stove came front and back, unusable. Trying to get a replacement sent out was a hassle and we're still waiting for the replacement. I don't think think quality is as good as it should be. But waiting for it to come soon we can get it installed. Says it's shipped but still isn't out for delivery. Praying it comes soon and not damaged. As we need it right away.

If you purchase this, it will likely arrive with a broken top plate, as this fragile part is not packaged well. Its been somewhat of a nightmare trying to get it remedied. Wayfair ordered a replacement top, and then inexplicably canceled. The manufacturer ordered a new stove altogether, which is yet to arrive. If I hadnt had this experience Id say the stive is worth its cost.

[Rewarded Review] Best little Cast Iron Stove for your House!

I researched this little stove thoroughly before I bought it. It is well made and I have not had a chance to actually try it out as of yet; but am excited to do so! Tractor and Supply was the best price anywhere on these stoves. They helped me load it and the staff was, as usual, very friendly and helpful!

Fast shipping!

This is a purchase for a future set up in a yard barn. This was the best price I found for this model. I ordered it one day and it was delivered UPS the next day, that's fast. I haven't put it together yet, but appears packaged well. I plan to have it up by December so I can use my barn this winter. I like the idea of having a hobby space in cold weather and a warm place should power go out from storms and back up source to cook. I believe this will be a good product.

Pure crap. Dangerous.

Door latch does not engage and the door hangs partially open. The door handle itself is a short nub of steel that you cannot grasp. The baffle board at the top of the fire box is a plastic composite type of material that resembles Styrofoam. It gave off very noxious fumes and was turning brown and beginning to shrink. The front door has an air inlet that stays wide open all the time. I am going to contact some government agency to check this stove. Review limit of 500 characters way too short.

[Rewarded Review] Good Stove. Great firebox for my Smokehouse!

This was a damaged floor item on quick sale. It had a small piece of the decorative rim broken in the back, not noticeable at all. But I am using this as the firebox for my smokehouse. It works perfectly as it is installed externally and the short run of the smokestack cools the smoke. The interior of the smokehouse stays at 100-120* F which is perfect for cool smoking of meats and cheeses. As a stove, this item would be perfect for a small house or even a garage. It puts out a lot of heat and burns for hours on wood or pellets.

Great replacement for the cabin

Heavy cast stove that works. A simple design, hands off maintenance and heavy duty. Flew into the cabin and used for heating and cooking. No dampers to mess with. Great replacement stove for the cabin.

This is a great little stove. I installed this stove in my shop to replace the old barrel stove that I was previously using. This stove is light enough to install by yourself. This stove lights very easily. I installed the barometric automatic damper, which works great for my set up. With my old barrel stove I spent more time fiddling with the damper to keep the stove burning at the right temp then I did working on what I was supposed to be doing. This stove has a barrel system so you don't need to worry about the flames going directly up the chimney like on a barrel stove. I can light my fire, stoke the stove, and walk away. With my old barrel stove I would have to babysit it until the fire was small enough otherwise the chimney would get dangerously hot. I have not had to worry about too hot of a chimney with this stove. I give it 5 stars. Tractor supply had it on hand, and loaded it up for me. Tractor supply also had the best price on this stove, and they were the only place that had one on hand.

Worth the Money

#1 it is Made in China. I put too much weight on one leg when moving it. and it snapped ($25) But its a good little wood burner for the money. Quality of stove itself is good. I have a good draft in stove pipe and it gets hot pretty fast - fires are easy to start.

Lives up to its rating

This stove was purchased to provide heat to a 576 sq ft shed. It is rated up to 900 sq ft, and I am fully convinced that it will live up to its rating, because it can turn my shed into a sauna very quickly!

This stove is exactly as advertised. It is a small cast iron wood burner that may heat +/- 900 square feet. I read the reviews prior to my purchase and was a bit concerned about the start up procedure as described in the accompanying booklet. To date, following the start up procedure as written and required by the EPA has worked like a charm for me. The majority of us are probably very used to the bottom up procedure as opposed to the top down methodology recommended in the stove instructions. However, I have had continued success by following the top down stacking/starting procedure. I have been very pleased with this purchase so far and am looking forward to it's performance this winter heating season.

Bad execution

Ordered stove from local retailer, arrived fine. Assembly was straight forward, but several issues. Feet bolted to bottom of unit, but not very securely. Flue collar tabs were drilled out in such a poor manner that the holes did not align with the holes in the stove body, hence it would not securely seat in place. Finally, the door was misaligned to the point it had a 1/4 inch gap around part of the sealing area, so smoke could escape when in use. Called U.S. Stove about issues and they offered to replace it if I destroyed my unit. Asked if they could guarantee new unit would be any better than the one I had. Was told they would replace that one also if it was not good. Obviously a little quality control at the Chinese factory would resolve such issues, as other reviews had the same problems. Returned stove to retailer for refund. They immediately sent it to the metal recycle dumpster when they saw the problems. Agreed it was unsafe. Do not waste time or money.

Great bargain stove for shop or garage!

This is a fantastic buy. I've had mine for over 5 years and it is reliable, durable and efficient. The only thing you have to do is modify the EPA add ons required by California. Remove the wool blocking the smoke from getting to the flue and unlock the dampler by removing a couple of rivets and seal the holes left by them with liquid steel. You can't beat the price or the bargain. Who needs a fancy stove in a shop or garage. The modifications will not void the warrantee. I called the company to make sure. The modifications only take about 10 to 20 minutes to accomplish. If you want to pay a thousand or more for a stove that will not preform any better or as good, then that is your choice. Anyone who underrates this stove should be looking for a fancy and expensive alternative and has no business listing a review here on this stove!!! This is the best value for the buck if you are looking for an efficient, reliable and durable way to heat a garage or shop. There is also a bigger one if you need to heat more than 900 square feet. Even though this 900 sq ft stove is small you can place long and relatively large diameter pieces of wood in it. Saves you from cutting of splitting wood into smaller pieces.
