Very sturdy for a good price

The desk while it is not solid wood is very sturdy and the laminate does not look like a cheap desk. Tons of room and no flexing even with lots of gear on it. Staples delivery was on point and very friendly. I was shocked their freight driver brought it right to the door!

Newegg doesn't let you edit reviews, so - just making a new one. I have no owned this desk for more than two years. I have moved twice in those two years, so I have assembled this thing three times and disassembled it twice. It shows no signs of wear - aside for a few superficial scratches on the veneer from laziness while moving it between apartments. I am so used to the huge space I get to use every day that I forget what normal desks are like - and I kind of take it for granted. I have gone from a 27" 1440p monitor when I originally bought this to now using a 40" 4k smart tv as primary display, and thats something I wouldn't have been able to do without this much space. Room for multiple monitors, and bookshelf speaker stands to boot. When I started looking for desks prior to buying this, I settled on an Ikea Jerker because the idea of customizations that could be swapped out appealed to me. It was discontinued, so I ended up buying this. Years later, I am so glad that was the case. This product from Alera is in the Valencia series of furniture -- its office furniture, meant for corporate use. Its all meant to be interchanged to meet a large coporation's office needs and to stand up to rigorous use. It has excellent build quality, and it has modules that can be bought separately and attached with perfect matches. Newegg may not carry them - but the "A" dot com retailer that shall not be named and is starting drone deliveries (Newegg won't let you use this A word in your reviews) and Staples do. Want a keyboard tray? They have one - and not a cheap-o tiny one, but the same material as this desk and its 28" long by 12" deep - I've always hated keyboard trays, but this series of furniture has one that is actually large enough to make use of -- and this desk is tall enough that even with an under-hanging tray it won't hit my knees (I'm 6'2" and have this problem with many desks). There are also under-mounting OR free standing lockable file cabinets and book / storage shelves that can be added to take up side room if thats your thing, storage hutch additions that can be mounted on the back of the desk, and desk extensions to turn this specific shell desk into an L shaped shell desk. I personally use the keyboard tray, one filing cabinet, and two stand-a-lone book cases that match this desk's height exactly (I have these set on the wall to the right of my desk, making it sort of an L-desk but the side part is much narrower -- the bookshelves are 12" deep rather than the desk extension's 28" deep -- I use these side shelves as audio towers and for storage). To summarize - this is very high quality, it lasts a long time, and it is very customizable to your changing needs / wants down the road -- it has a whole series of matching office furniture that either interact with or compliment this desk. If you have room for a desk that is 71" wide by 35" deep, I heartily recommend this - I would 100% buy again.
