I purchased the VAVA Baby Monitor with Split Screen (VA-IH009) around May of 2023. We started using it when we transitioned our daughter to her own room at 6 months old. It's fantastic! It has a long lasting battery, clear picture and the sound quality is great. Loved everything about it. However, toward the end of September 2024, the handheld monitor started having issues with charging. I googled it and found tons of reviews from upset customers who indicated they experienced the same problem. Most of the reviews also stated that VAVA would not replace their system if the 12 month warranty period had past. Assuming it was a lost cause, I went ahead and messaged customer support anyway. After explaining to them that I was aware that my warranty period had passed but that the monitor began to malfunction through no fault of our own, VAVA happily replaced our entire system. We first had to send back our broken set (both cameras, handheld monitor and charging cords), but once that was received, they sent us a new set free of charge. Shipping was paid for both ways. Customer support responded quickly, was very nice and happily accommodated us. I was pleasantly surprised. I would gladly buy another product from VAVA and have shared my experience with others.

Malfunctions quickly & battery life is short

Wanted to love this… screen & sound quality is great. However, within a few months, the kickstand broke, the screen would turn blank when trying to view my baby and the monitor completely stopped charging.

Monitor and cameras are amazing but unfortunately, the monitor stopped charging after a year. No matter how many cords I tried or different outlets, it still didn’t charge. It looks like it’s the mechanism in the charge port that’s having problems connecting. Sad to read that this is a common issue. I wish I would’ve known before I bought it. Also VAVA can’t help you if you’ve bought it through Best Buy sadly and the company is US-based so it’s not worth it if you’re in Canada.

Love this monitor! Had another before and this one is great in comparison. Picture is very clear.

Awful Monitor

This is an awful product. It stopped charging after a year of use and began to die in the middle of the night, leaving us unable to see or hear our baby. Customer service is unwilling to help. Unfortunately if you look into it, this is a common problem for this product. It is expensive and left many customers disappointed. Definitely go with a better, more reputable brand!

Would not reccomend

My experience with the monitor was similar to many others: it stopped working, stopped charging, began making a humming or buzzing noise, and eventually died randomly in the middle of the night when it did hold a charge. Vava's customer service was terrible. Despite sending numerous emails and providing all the requested information, I received delayed responses and was repeatedly asked for the same details. I eventually requested a phone call because they do not provide a phone number, and the call was as unproductive as the emails. Needless to say, I did not repurchase and switched to a different monitor brand.

Good monitor

We’ve used this continually for 2 years and it works great. The battery lasts all night Not plugged in. I have seen other monitors that have crisper images at night, but this one is sufficient for us and we really like that it isn’t dependent on wifi.

Only worked for about a year

It stopped charging after about only a year. We bought a new charger and that did not solve the issue. Like other reviewers I too would not recommend this faulty product. It’s unfortunate because I thought Vava was a trustworthy company.

I had this monitor for 4 years and the only reason I need a new one is the monitor was thrown and hit a wall. It still works nut can't be shut off all the way so I would say it's great quality and would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a monitor.

[Rewarded Review] Horrible dont buy

Absolutely, horrible, do not buy horrible customer service. Got one of these items took it home.I found out we had a bad plug. Within twenty four hours contacted the manufacturer.Trying to get a replacement power cord sent to us.. After a week of jumping through a bunch of hoops and email they Would not be sending a free replacement.. Ended up returning that unit got a second one, and that one was busted as well.. The sound would not work on it.We didn't know when our baby was crying.. Ended up returning that one and going with a different brand all together.

VAVA monitor

We’ve had this camera with our first in 2022 and repurchased a second for our son. It works great (picture, sound, quality, range, etc.). If you’re looking for a split screen option, make sure it is the model that allows for a split screen. My camera/video monitor does a camera cycle where it cycles between the two cameras every 15 seconds. Not a bad option but I would’ve loved for the split screen.

Stopped working about 1 year after we got it. Just randomly one day cut off and wouldn’t come back on or charge . Up until that point I didn’t have any issues with it but now I’m seeing this is a common issue .

Picture so clear it helped me know my son was in trouble

We registered for this baby monitor and got it for our baby shower. We have had it a year and a half now and have had ZERO problems. We have taken it to parents houses, hotels, and friends houses and it’s a breeze to set it up since it does not have to connect to a home wifi. We have gone as far as one home over from ours to hang with friends and the picture stays clear and easy to see our son. Why I’m writing this review now is because the picture is so clear that I was able to see my son have a seizure (for the first time) during his nap time and I rushed to help him asap. If this baby monitor was not as good as it is I might not have been able to see that my son was in trouble and needed my help. I cannot stress enough how important it is to have a baby monitor with a CLEAR picture and GOOD sound. This has both. Thank you for making such a wonderful product that helped me keep my son safe!

Horrible camera

This camera is expensive and doesn't last. I've been using it for 8 months and already it gives me a power connection error on the monitor. I have to turn it on and off several times before it works for about 10 minutes. At night this is a big problem!!! It beeps when the error comes up but most importantly I then can't hear when my baby cries. The battery also dies so quickly and charges slowly. Definitely would not recommend. You could probably get a cheaper camera that works better. I'm about to call for a replacement under the warranty so we'll see how that goes.
