Great oil lamp

This lamp is well made, attractive, easy to fill and light. The standard #2 burner makes replacement wicks easy to find. Packed very well so there was no chance for breakage in the order I placed for 5 lamps. Highly recommended.

Nice Glass, Terrible Burner

I ordered this #1154465 Ellipse Clear Oil Lamp and it arrived quickly. The glass font and chimney are very nice, but the burner is extremely poor quality. The base or lower part of the burner, which screws onto the font, was loosely attached to the upper part of the burner at only one point, allowing the upper part to flop over like it was hinged. The stem for wick adjustment would roll the wick up with some effort, but I had to use pliers on the handle to rotate the wick down. The burner assembly was very cheaply made overall, and considering the risk of the chimney simply toppling over, I would consider it a fire and safety risk. I have ordered a 10600 #2 replacement burner in hopes of rescuing this lamp, because the glass parts are good. When the new burner comes in, I will review it and report how it works with this lamp. If it works, I will recommend it as an accessory to this lamp. Meanwhile, Lehman's would be well advised to inspect these Ellipse lamps before shipping them. Just check to make sure the upper and lower parts of the burner are securely attached, and test the wick adjustment stem to ensure it rotates properly in both directions. Lamps that fail inspection should be returned to the manufacturer.

Very pleased with my purchase. This lamp was well wrapped and protected for transportation that when it got home to me in Canada, it was perfect. No damage. Very nice lamp and puts out a beautiful light.

Good overall but minor quality issues

The glass container is very nice and the lamp component works decently, giving off good light. My issue is that the metal collar that twists onto the glass section does not fit well because the threads are just a bit off. I can only semi-tighten the lamp section to the glass reservoir and the fit is poor. It doesn't seem like much to complain about, but when the metal lamp section cannot be tightly secured which means it could easily be knocked off the glass lamp. It works well enough to keep it, but I'm a little disappointed with that quality issue.
