Just got this. I like the look, HOWEVER, all the brass on the trunk was covered in black that came off both in the box, on my hands, & on my carpet. I spent am hour cleaning all the metal with WD-40 to remove the mess. Unsure if it was grease or paint sprayed on the entire trunk before delivery. A total MESS! For $500!

Pack it Better
Arrived in what I consider very poor condition. The trim on the top inside the chest was popping out, pushing the staples and I had to hammer them back in. The center latch was broken and laying in the box. One of the lock latches was bent badly and had to be straightened with pliers. So I'm not thrilled, but in fairness, it was all shipping damage. The chest is nice and exactly as described.
Nice just what I needed for my son’s toy chest!

DO NOT BUY! Item is very cheap and cut my hands when opening the lid. The latches were broken in 4 areas, very cheaply made and put together with staples! The stain immediately rubs off on your hands. I am returning, but will be out $40 in shipping costs :(
