This is a stylish grab bar for our safety, It doesn't look like a handicap bar.

These installed well into the studs and will become more critical as we get older. They look good even when not used regularly. Peace of mind for us and any guests who are older and may use that shower.

this is the alternative product with a better fixed flange with more holes providing more installation options for hard to locate studs behind a tile wall. Even tho this is a 1 1.4" bar it still looks very attractive and not institutional.

Not Shiny SS (it's dull)

I doubled and tripled checked to make sure that this was stainless steel. Wanted the shiny SS and no where did it specify that you could select 'chrome' which is shiny or 'brushed' which is dull. Was trying to match a a 24" grab bar installed by Bath Fitter last year and it didn't have manufacturer stamp on it. This one looked just like it but the finish isn't the same. Bath Fitter one is high shine chrome that matches the bath fittings. I had HD one installed because I'm having terrible sciatica issues and also had foot surgery and needed the bar to get in/out of tub as the other one I had to reach over and into tub. My OCD will kick in that they're not same finish, but my back pain takes precedent at the moment.

The safety bars are solid, easy to grab, and look nice. However, the enclosed screws for anchoring the bars in wood studs were poor quality. I purchased other screws and are pleased with the result.

Spiffy ADA railing

When I almost fell while getting out of the bathtub, I realized I needed to install some ADA support railings. I didn't want the traditional railings so I was very pleased to find this decorative choice. After I installed them, they look very nice and match the other chrome I already had in the bathroom. They look more like towel racks instead of ADA support railings. In addition to it's good looks, the railing is very sturdy and are just what I needed to prevent an accident while getting out of the bathtub.

Very nice grab bar. It is nicer looking than the ordinary bar, but just as effective. Not too expensive, either.
