Keeps mattress sanitary and completely dust-free

Need two people to put on mattress cover, but love that is completely encloses the entire mattress, so it's completely dust free. Will get another one for my box spring.

I was needlessly worried. It’s perfect!!

What a great cover!! It took me a couple months to finally get the job done, but this is one really, really nice mattress cover. I was worried it wouldn’t zip, that my mattress would be too thick, but it was perfect. I would highly recommend this cover.

Did not like

Extremely difficult to put on, even with 2 people. Was ok once we got it on. I but 2, one for each queen bed, but I am returning one because of the difficulty. Would not recommend buying.

Won't buy another brand

This is the second set we’ve purchased. We use them at home (my kids have allergies) and also in our rentals and they’ve been great. They are waterproof and don’t make all of those terribly crinkly noises!

Directions are present for installation; and there is reference to.machine washable & dry. However, even with low heat,(my call; no directions for that) the sides melted at first wash.

Mine was NOT waterproof.

I am one who always tries to find the good in everything. This is a very well-made mattress cover/protector. It fit our new mattress very well and was pretty easy to put

Not for me at all!!

This cover is a true challenge to put onto the mattress and with a mattress topper it's even more difficult. The zipper is along the narrow end and you literally have to stand the mattress and topper on end to slide it into the protector. It should be more like a clamshell opening along 3 sides of the mattress. This takes no less than 2 to 3 patient people who communicate well with each other to install. There is not much wiggle room. Once the cover is on, it's time to zip it closed very cautiously. Once it's on and you lay the mattress flat, each time you get in & out of the bed you will hear loud crinkling as the side panel is a stiff, strange fabric the makes a lot of noise. If you have a mattress and/or topper with memory foam, you will be treated to a strange phenomenon we call "The Blob" as when you first sit down on the mattress, the air from your side of the mattress rushes to the other side of the mattress and inflates it forming a huge dome of air. So when another person sits on "The Blob" that air pillow returns to your side. So much for enjoying a mattress where I do not feel the movement of my bed partner.... I feel every time he gets up and down or flips over. For a light sleeper like myself, this has been an awful experience.

Just as described. Having dogs I want to protect my mattress. This does not make any crinkle noises like some and was easy to put on my mattress by myself. Very pleased with this purchase.

No more saggy mattress cover!

The best thing about this cover is that it grips the side of your mattress. My old one had huge gaps that you had to tuck underneath the mattress. It was difficult to contain the excess material in the mattress cover and sheets.

Very disappointing

Not as expected. It says cotton cover, but it's just a cotton top layer with plastic underneath. It makes crinkling plastic noise. It says machine wash and dry. I washed it before use and dried it on Low for Delicates, but parts of the plastic sides melted together anyway, leaving pulled gaps in the weave when separated, which defeats its purpose. I guess it shrunk too, because the package says it fits up to a 17 inch mattresses, and it barely fits a 12 inch mattress, I doubt you could get it on a bigger mattress without tearing gaps in the sides. Also, the metal clip holding the end of the zipper sides fell off before use. What a mess this thing is.

Good for mattress, bad to launder & sleep on

We have purchased other Allerease products in the past and were pleased with them so we bought this to encase and protect a new full size mattress. It does indeed do a great job in that respect. I expected it would be tricky getting it on the mattress and it was, but fit perfectly. The first big problem was trying to get it dry when we pre-laundered it before putting it on our mattress! I followed the directions & caution to be certain it was completely dry before putting it on the mattress to avoid trapping moisture in it and potentially causing mold. I thought we never would get it dry!! It could not go into a hot dryer and took hours in low heat! Had to ynzipper it and untangle it & keep flipping it inside-out and right-side out again over and over. After a couple HOURS we finally gave up on that and spread it over a couple chairs to dry overnight, turning it inside-out and right-side out again. The second problem & other issues we have with it are that it feels like plastic, is slippery, and is very hot to sleep on. We have premium quality white cotton wicking sheets - and the mattress protector does exactly what it is designed to do - it lets nothing wicked penetrate to the mattress, I will buy a regular mattress pad & maybe try it on top the protector if I decide I am up to laundering and trying to dry this protector again.

Great Product, Requires Patience to Install

This protector fit on our 17 inch mattress, but barely. The snugness of the protector on the mattress means there are no creases or bulges to make it uncomfortable. The fabric is tight to do its job of keeping the mattress dry and bug free. However, putting the protector on the mattress requires lots of open floor space, and moderately high ceiling, two-people, and patience.

Protective

Fabric feels soft and cloth-like. Good quality. Nice zipper. Like that it protects the mattress from dust, spills, etc. Easier to get on with two people. We put protectors on two twin beds, and they fit well, although one protector looked like there were small holes at the seam threads. We'll see how it holds up with someone lying on the mattress. We decided to return the protector we bought for our double bed because there is NO WAY we could imagine lifting the mattress and sliding the cover on. Our mattress is latex and too heavy and bendy. Will have to get a top-only cover for it. Satisfied with the purchase for our twin beds.

It’s made of plastic, not cotton

I bought this mattress protector because it was advertised as 100% cotton. I don’t need it to be waterproof, we don’t have bed wetters in our home and we keep temps cool at night. I’m trying my best to take care of my health and avoid unnecessary plastics where I can. Keeping a healthy, natural fiber barrier between my body and my very toxic mattress is important to me. This is the second mattress cover I’ve purchased that was advertised as 100% cotton on the packaging and in the description, only to read on the label after purchasing and opening, that the entire product is polyester and polyurethane with a sheer, poor quality cotton layer over the top of one of six sides. Polyester is not only one of the worst materials for your long-term health, it also makes you sweat and feel itchy. Yes it’s resistant and long lasting, but cotton, wool, bamboo and other natural fibers are better at controlling your temperature and resisting bacteria, fungus and mold. The 2 stars are because if you like polyester in your home then this cover is good, it fit the mattress well, with a little room to spare around our standard mattress, and it was easy to put on and zip up. It seems well constructed.

I've always used slip-cover style mattress protectors in the past so I was a little apprehensive about using a zippered version. However, even though I did have to put it all the way around the mattress, this was not as difficult as I thought it would be. I went on and came off easily! It doesn't have a chemically smell when laying on it nor was it super noisy when the kids laid on it. It also cleans super easy in the wash and protected the bed well when the youngest had a nighttime accident.

I am really happy I got this mattress protector. My cat recently had an accident on my bed, due to illness, and wound up soiling my bed linens. Nothing made it through to my mattress, thanks to this mattress protector.

I have always struggled with allergies but never thought to cover my mattress to keep from having an issue. This is easy to put on, with a little help. i love the extra added protection too with it being water proof. The cotton top is a great feature but I will say the rest is a tiny bit noisy. I haven’t had near as many issues since putting this on my mattress as usual. It also washed well following the care instructions.
