Adventure Time! C'mon And Bring Your Grill!

I own two of these. Got this little guy on sale. Have used it a couple of times, there's a whole world of grilling out there. Take this grill with you and explore!

Second Smoky Joe Purchase in 52 Years!

I have had a Smoky Joe since 1972 and use it for camping with tents and then camping travel trailers all that time. It’s still in fine shape in my storage compartment in my Travel Trailer! So I decided to by another for use when I travel without the trailer. The premium model has that locking cover which is great for lack of mess creations. I did buy a grate that has hinged entrances on each side to add charcoal during extended indirect cooking such as Turkey for instance. It was from a third party. Wonder why Webber doesn’t include that with it Premium Model? Added cost to Weber I guess!

Weber Smokey Joe.. never disappoints

This was a replacement to our old Smokey Joe that we’ve had for 20+ years. Grew up with Weber grills. Perfect size for the two of us and also when we grill for the family! At home or on our camping trips. We have a Weber gas grill at home but there are times I want to charcoal grill. Camping it’s a must have. Definitely recommend this Smokey Joe for its ease of use and quality construction. I’ve found that Webers Rapidfire Chimney Charcoal Starter to be easier way to light the charcoal and have even burn!

Dirty grates inside box that had been opened.

This is a Weber Smokey Joe Grill and someone had opened the box and took the grates out and put used dirty ones in. I had already put it all together before seeing this. The rest of it was clean. I called Weber and they will send new grates. I don't know who did it, but it is disgusting.

Still the best design

It is as good as the first Weber Charcoal 21" we bought in 1978! This a powerful little grill just right for camping. We switched to a Weber Genisis and had that for 30 years. Now have brand name smoker grill. After getting this small grill for camping, I'm using it more and more at home! The best for brats!

Good value grill

It is a nice grill for one or two people. It is a good idea to use a chimney with it as well. I like to split it in half with direct and indirect heating but it is a bit small half for putting in my 16 ounce ribeyes. It does fit the smaller NY strip steaks. I also put in two burgers at a time (half for direct and other for indirect heating). I think I would get a bigger grill so I can put more bigger pieces of meat. Maybe itf it was 18" it would be perfect. However, for the price, this grill is great. I got it at Walmart.

Easy & Functional

I recently picked up a small charcoal grill, and I couldn’t be happier! It’s the perfect size for my family and super easy to transport. The setup was straightforward, and once I got the charcoal going, the flavor of the grilled food was incredible—juicy steaks and perfectly charred veggies! Cleanup is a breeze, and it adds such a cozy vibe to my gatherings. Highly recommend it for anyone looking to elevate their grilling game!

Great Little Smokey

Very nice little grill for 2 people. Lights up quick with a chimney and hardwood charcoal. When done close all the air holes and almost all the remaining charcoal is saved for the next time. A nice switch from gas. I light the chimney on the gas side burner. Ready to cook in 3 minutes!

Great little grill

I just recently bought this little Smokey Joe, and it is perfect for my wife and I. We're empty nesters now and don't always have the need to cook large amounts of food. I still have and use my 22" often, and always will, but for the times I only want to cook a couple nice steaks, chops, chicken breasts, or even some burgers and dogs, this fits the bill perfectly. I was impressed with how little fuel it uses. Depending on brand and size, 10 to 15 briquettes is all that is needed. I would definitely recommend this. Same great quality and craftsmanship as all of the other Weber products I've owned for the last 50 years.

# 4

I LOVE MY SMOKEY JOE GRILL! This is my 4th one. Had one for the ski condo, another for the beach and vacation destinations, and my 2nd one for home (after 11 years, it was time to get another. Not because there was something wrong with it, but my wife told me to buy a new one). I've been a loyal Weber customer for well over 30 years and I know quality when I see it. All my Weber grills have lasted for many, many years including the ones I bought for my kids over a decade or more ago. And, just like the Smokey Joe, those gas grills are indestructible. But, as for my "baby Weber", you just can't beat it, and very portable. I would recommend the Smokey Joe BBQ to anyone who enjoys charcoal barbequing and all the other reasons I previously mentioned. Keep up the good work Weber! 👍

Storage and maintenance winner

it's just easier to use and keep clean. Had the big kettle for as far back as I can remember, my first one was back in the eighties, early eighties. When we moved three years ago I gave up charcoal and tried a gas grill. Didn't like it, Decided to go back to charcoal, because we are retired low maintenance is first requirement. Smokey Joe is perfect thank you.

Perfect size for general use

Purchased new in 2017. We use it 3x more than our 22", especially for simple things like steaks and burgers. Doesn't do as well for oil marinades or fatty meats due to proximity of grate to coals, you get a fireballbpretty quickly.

Super convenient effective grill

Great little grill. I also have 2 pellet grills. One is a big 1000sq. In grill the other is a small tabletop. Those are difficult to get a nice char on burgers and such. This little smoky Joe is the ticket for just my wife and I. If something happens to the big pellet grill I will be getting a nice Weber to replace it. Love this little grill.

Used my Smokey Joe at what I thought was a family bar-b-que, but it was the only grill there. I used it for cooking all the meat brought. Of course everyone tried to knock it down because of its size, It completed the task easily and everyone thanked me for cooking. Smokey Joe did all the hard work. I have no regrets on purchasing it. Looking forward to using it wherever I decide to grill again and again.???.

Great grill

This is great grill for one or two people. I bought it for when I grill for myself. I bought the first one in about 1985 and several since then. I have always been happy with Weber and own two larger grills, one gas, one charcoal. I do like my steaks and hamburgers cooked on charcoal when I have the time. It takes longer for charcoal but the flavor is worth it. I would highly recommend this grill for small personal meals.

If You own one before you know what goes first.

Solid well made for the most part. Owning one before made me aware of what to do to this one. The vents gut stuck, the grill shreds itself with rust, the 3 screw holding the legs will rot in a few years. So either replace with SS ones or wrap foil on it to make it last longer.

Smokey Joe Bowl/Bottom Vent Worthless

I’ve had 4 Weber Smokey Joe’s over the last 24 years. The first lasted at least approximately 15 years (until given away). The 2nd lasted about 6 years (threw out because bottom vent no longer moved). 3rd last 1 year (threw out 2 days ago because the bottom vent became inoperable). Unboxing the 4th right now - and I know this will be my very last Smokey Joe because right out of the box (even prior to assembling), the bottom vent takes effort to open & close (I have to hold the bowl to rotate the vent - how in the world does Weber expect the bottom vent to EASILY open & close when the grill is: 1. Assembled; 2. Right side up; 3. Scorching HOT??? TOTAL SAEFTY ISSUE!!

The little grill with the big flavor!

I've really been getting alot of use out of my new Weber grill. I enjoy the smokey taste of salmon on the grill, but normally only barbecued a few times a year.. until now. With this conveniently smaller grill, I've been grilling our salmon at least once a week & it is sooooo gooood. It takes like restaurant restaurant quality every time.

Good Quality, Will Last for Many Years

Don't just think of this as a "portable" barbeque. It is an ideal size if you're usually cooking at home for two people and could be used for four fairly large steaks. The smaller size means it's easier to clean and potentially uses less charcoal. This was a replacement for one we'd had for many years and I'm sure this will outlast it.

Fails to cook

Have instant light charcoal that would not light. Finally gathered some sticks and build fire under charcoal. Got it to light, but it went out fairly soon. I believe it is poor venting and air flow. Side vents don't seem to allow coals to burn. Thinking of drilling holes in bottom for better airflow, but could not use on table top then.
