Do not buy

We were really excited for this sink to be a part of our kitchen renovation. We wanted to support American-made and were willing to spend the extra money for such. Really wish we hadn’t! The sink enamel cracked within a few days of being back in our house. Kohler would not stand behind the sink and blamed us for the crack. We did nothing wrong and the drain was installed correctly. Now we’re out $1200 and left with an eye-sore sink. Would not recommend Kohler products for any future builds or renovations.

Way better than in the photos!

Got the "sea salt" color. Even though the picture doesn't show it really clearly, I took a stab at it after reading reviews about the color online, and client wanted something different than plain white. Winner! This color, or more accurately, this finish is amazing. So much more depth than plain white. Still a nice bright white, but has a finish you can see into. Looks almost like ground salt densely packed with a clear. Absolutely worth the extra $$. Everyone who has seen it loves it. As for the color, it can go warm or cool, it reflects its surroundings somewhat. The photos online make it look somewhat bluish, but it's not.

Love it but

I love the sink. I saw a tip below in getting out scratch marks from metal. However, during the building process someone rinsed something in my sink that stained the shiny surface to dull. I don’t know what it was, but have tried everything possible to scrub out

Super high maintenance and low

I wanted to love this farmhouse sink, but it’s not what I expected. It’s a very expensive sink and thought that was it but it’s not. I bought the stainless steel racks accessories so pots don’t leave marks on it, but the sink is getting marks from those because they tend to move around- they’ve not fixed/steady. Anything touching the sink leaves a tiny scratch, as you wash dishes and specially coffee mugs/pitchers you’ll see the sink turning into a yellowish/brownish color, and looks horrible. The cast iron cleaner offered by Kohler is a very small bottle that I end up using every night as I have to remove all marks and yellow residue from the sink because I drink coffee everyday, I wash dishes everyday… so the cost of this sink turns out to be even more plus the time I don’t have that I need to dedicate every night in cleaning it up. I regret paying so much money for a skink like this.. the expense never ends and it’s time consuming. Also since its front sife is lower than a regular sink, water spills out; in my case the water coming down has accumulated over the bottom cabinet door and starter to damage the paint.

Beautiful but Fragile

We purchased this sink for our new construction home based on our vendor recommendation. On install the sink looks great and we love the size. Once the sink started getting used our opinion changed. The sink has now been scratched from washing pots and possibly dropping silverware into it. Kohler said they would replace the sink but it sits underneath the slab of our kitchen Island, this in not an option. We now have a basin screen sitting in the sink to avoid further damage. Regrets.

Not top quality

I’ve had this sink for a month. I’ve used it for 3 weeks. Tonight I was washing it with the dish sponge & a piece of the enamel came off! A good 2 inches off the right, top rim. I’m a stay at home parent. Before that, I was cooked professionally. I’ve had the same cookware for 20 years & they still look new. I know how to take care of my products. I contacted customer care. Apparently routine procedure is to send a replacement sink. They know very well this sink is installed with countertops over the top. They don’t reimburse the cost to replace their defective product. So I have to pay to have my brand new, granite countertops removed, hopefully not damage my brand new cabinets, pay someone to remove the damaged sink, it’ll need 2 people being the sink it 150 lbs. I’ll need to pay a plumber, again, to reinstall the plumbing as well. I can’t believe I spent $1200 on this sink & it hardly lasted a month. I should have stuck with a stainless steel sink like my old kitchen. I am so angry with this company. I will never, ever buy their products again. I will show & tell everyone I meet about this experience.

Scratches easily

I've had my 36" undermount Kohler White Haven sink for about 2 years. I have always had the protective Kohler sink grate in there as well. Of course your utensils fall through the grating. But unfortunately that has left many scratches in the enamel. Scratches that I can feel with my fingernail, so not just scuffing. I cannot get the scratches clean, even with the Kohler cleaner, as they are always discolored and too deep. I love the way the sink looks in my kitchen, but I don't find it to be durable. And since it is undermount, relaxing it with something else would mean getting my marble countertop up as well. I feel the coating must be defective, or these sinks just aren't meant for normal everyday use. How unfortunate for such a costly investment.

Accessories not so great!

I have this sink for one year. The style of sink is exactly what I was hoping for. I made sure to get Koehler sink grates right from the start to assure the sink would remain pristine. I have never used the sink without the grated and clean the sink & grates constantly. The grate feet have scratched the surface and left yellow stains. Not pleased at all!

Frustrated with this sink

I will start by saying that I have had a cast iron enameled sink before and have used this sink in a rental beach house recently. Compared to those sinks this one is getting pot marks extremely easily. The Koehler sink grate for this sink even marks it up just placing it in the sink. It has to be cleaned daily with the Koehler cleaner or it looks terrible. I was just in a beach house with the same Koehler sink and didn’t experience anything like what I see with this sink. And that one had the same sink grate! I suspect the finish on my sink is not comparable.

Our go-to porcelain farmhouse sink

I love using this sink for our clients. It allows flexibility in the front finishing by overlaying the front of the cabinet instead of having the cabinet face go around the sink. This is our go-to porcelain farmhouse sink. Installation height(it's relationship to the countertop) is a little misleading as the dimensions won't fully get you there but it does direct additional shimming as necessary. I consider this to be a 2 person job due to the need to place and remove until you get it right. It's quite heavy, which is great, but I'd recommend 2 people to protect from scraping the cabinet front.

I received my farmhouse sink and I am so in love! It’s gorgeous, very heavy, very large with plenty of room to wash large pots and pans. My cabinet maker also prefers this self trimming sink for a seamless install. I purchased this sink for our new home build and I couldn’t be more happier! I highly recommend. Wayfair has excellent customer service and are very easy to work with. Don’t hesitate. Buy the sink!

Great sink with a few things to be aware of

I love this sink more than I thought I would. The large size is extremely useful for washing big items. Another way this sink is very practical, that I didn't think about before purchasing, is the amount of messy tasks I can take care of in the sink instead of on the kitchen counter, so spills can simply be rinsed away (preparing pet food, transferring food between containers/pans, etc.). The unexpected downside is that the white surface gets marked up easily by metal objects and needs frequent cleaning to keep it looking nice. I highly recommend getting the stainless steel rack to help protect the bottom of the sink. I will say this sink is very inefficient in terms of water use if you like to fill the sink with deep water every time you wash up, so we try to avoid that (a smaller washing-up bowl to use inside the sink is useful). I like how the sink slopes toward the drain at one end for easy cleaning and this also provides a slight "deep end" for washing small items without using too much water. I prefer this to having the drain in the center. Finally, the self-trimming design is very clever and gives a great finish but I have two warnings related to this feature (not complaints but just things to be aware of). 1. The front of the sink sticks out noticeably from the finished front of the cabinet (~2.5 to 3 inches), so depending on your cabinet design the overhang can be quite pronounced. For instance, in our case, the doors are flush with the cabinet faces so the sink would stick out beyond the surrounding door and drawers, even past their handles. We ended up cutting the cabinet front and insetting the sink rather than using the full self-trimming depth. If we did not do that, it would stick out about 3/4 inch further than shown in the photos. 2. Make sure your cabinet and countertop installers coordinate and understand exactly where the installed sink will sit. Our countertop installer misunderstood where the cabinet face would finish and made the sink cutout slightly too deep. Luckily, the cabinet maker was able to cut the cabinet face and inset the sink during the final installation. They did a great job finishing the seam and it is practically invisible. We ended up being very happy with the result because it also avoided a large overhang at the front of the sink (as described above). However, if you are relying on the self-trimming feature, make sure everyone involved understands the exact dimensions properly. All in all, a great sink, and I would buy it again.

Best sink ever...

This is the second time I have purchased this sink for my house. I loved it so much in my old house, that when we moved and had to renovate, I got it again. Overstock had the best price, with cash back (Club O) and rakutan, the price was much lower than any other vender out there. In addition, the shipping was quick and the sink was in perfect condition. This sink is great in that the drain is in the back right corner, so you can actually use the two sides of the sink for different purposes at the same time. It cleans up beautifully, and I always get the grate to use when I have pots to clean (so I don't scratch the basin - just to be safe). Plus my contractor loves it, it's the farmhouse look without the hassle, and the fragility of fireclay.

Worst decision I ever made during my kitchen remodel

Installed this sink 3 years ago - twice. After the first one was in, my wife and I noticed hairline cracks in the finish and had to completely remove our brand new granite tops to take it out, and put in a 2nd one. The finish on this sink is supposed to be extremely durable. While we are very careful with what and how we place objects in the sink, it has developed gray/black scratches on many areas of the finish, the feet on the bottom grate that it came with have left yellow stains on the bottom that will not come out, and the enamel finish is wearing away in the center of the bowl (see pic.). We never use any abrasive cleaners on it, but in only 3 years the sink looks horrible and I want to just rip it out - again! Completely disgusted.

The best of my new kitchen

We basically designed and built the kitchen around this sink. We have an industrial/contemporary/eclectic design, and the sink works for it all. No defects as other reviewers have found. Our builder installed It perfectly. The only thing we did was push the box, not lift it, to a different spot beforehand, and yes, it’s really heavy. The sink is simply beautiful. It’s shiny and smooth with a flawless finish. The design is well engineered with the 2-degree slope to prevent pooling, and it also makes it easy to rinse food particles or suds away. We have a Kitchen Aid disposal, which was also easily installed (by our plumber) and works well with the sink. The depth of the sink is great—I can sit very large pots and pans, Dutch oven, etc., down on the sink rack to fill with water, hand wash, or just to let cool, with more than ample room left to do other sink tasks. I do recommend adding the Kohler sink racks. We also had them for several years in our other home with our Kohler stainless sink, so I could attest to them and wanted them again. They fit perfectly, look great, are easy to keep clean, and are a buffer for the bottom of the sink. We haven’t had a family meeting about sink care as another reviewer did, but I don’t think that’s a bad idea as most kids are only familiar with stainless. I can imagine the trend of apron sinks waning away sooner rather than later though, which was a major consideration before plopping down the $1000. However, regardless what happens design-wise, this beast will last.

Solid, cast iron sink. We now had this for over 3 years. We also purchased the matching sink racks. I'd say the racks are a must.

SAVE YOURSELF THE TROUBLE AND MONEY. I bought this for a full kitchen build just completed. So I haven't actually used it yet. Now that all the workers are gone and everything is finished I took some time to really take it all in. The crowning glory of my Farmhouse kitchen - A Kohler Apronfront sink! Then I REALLY looked at it. It came in with the Kohler name tag on the back sink wall crooked. That alone would drive me mad, but there are dimples and puckers and a crack in the front apron wall as well. The quartz counter tops are installed over it already! These things are so slight. If you don't have sharp eyesight, you may not see them like my contractor and Kohler didn't, but they are there. The crack in the front apron will catch your fingernail and is about 1 and 1/2 inches wide so you can feel it's broken there even if you are blind. The quality is pitiful. No quality control at all. How did this pass inspection? What happened here? My last house had a Kohler sink I wanted to take with me ---25 years old and looked brand new still. I loved that sink. So in the new kitchen of course I paid extra and went Kohler! Never been so disappointed in a company during the whole remodel with hundreds of new products installed as I am in Kohler. We even put all Kohler toilets and sinks and faucets in our bathrooms! Bad enough the white porcelain finish was messed up but a crack as well??? I will never again pay $1,000 for a sink. What was I thinking??? Buy a cheaper brand! Kohler is no longer the name I thought it was.

This sink was my second choice after the original sink I ordered was slightly too wide to fit my cabinet. I liked the design with a simple front and single basin, and it's also nice that it comes in many color choices. The template that comes with it to cut the front of your cabinet is nice. Instead of just a piece of paper that most companies use and are ofter hard to work with, it's a pre-cut piece of cardboard making it easy and sturdy to tape on, thus making a nice clean line easy to draw on. The sink is extremely heavy. Not only do I think it would be unsafe to try to mount alone, I think it would be impossible unless you're Andre the Giant. Now all of this is great, but I need to explain my 2 star ranking. First off, I don't like the Kohler badge inside the sink on the back wall. I understand they want to brand themselves, but with a design that's meant to be minimalistic, and with this being a "high-end" piece, I find that tacky. No other high end brand puts their name on a badge in the most noticeable place, and most don't have it anywhere noticeable at all. That's minus 1 star. Also, and I didn't notice this until I got it outside of the box and mounted it and the kitchen window shined through and light hit it - there are cracks all over inside one of the corners. On the photos you can see them, and also see that this was brand new placed (I didn't even have the protective film off yet, and you can see I don't even have counters yet). The cracks were originally very light, but I as I rubbed on them they got darker and more noticeable (probably dirt from my fingers getting into the cracks). Now, if I were to just have this sink for decoration, and never ever EVER use it, the cracks would probably remain somewhat small and hard to notice. However, I plan on actually using the sink, and know they're going to get worse and spread. Not what you would expect from a thousand dollar sink. Now you could say "well maybe he got a bad one." And yea, maybe, but is that a chance you want to take? Do you want to risk buying a "high-end" sink, waiting for it to be delivered, using the template and cutting the hole for the apron, mounting your cabinet, adding inside supports, lifting and placing the fixture, all to find out you have to take it out, return it, have the frustration and cost of shipping or cost of time and gas to go return it to Home Depot all to buy a replacement that may have the same issue? This took 2 weeks to get to me, so this'll be another 2 weeks I'll have to go without counters as I wait for the replacement. It's great Kohler stands by their product with a 1 year warranty, and I can get a replacement at no additional cost, but what I won't get back is my time and frustration. Minus 2 more stars, and I can't recommend this product because I wish I would have never purchased it to begin with.

The focal point of my kitchen

This sink is amazing. Very well made, VERY HEAVY, and will last a lifetime if not more. I read reviews of other farmhouse sinks that were made of a cheaper material, and some people said their sinks already had cracks in the bottom. I definitely did not want that issue, so we paid more for this sink than the cheaper versions, and I couldn't be happier. I am also glad I went with a one basin sink instead of two. With one basin I have more flexibility to rinse really large items, and it's so big I can wash my pets or toddler in it! I figure if I ever need "two basins", I can just buy one of those small dish tubs from the store, set it in the sink for washing, and still have room to rinse off dishes on the other side. So far it has not been an issue. I don't foresee any issues with staining due to the very nice enamel finish. The water also seems to drain great from all areas--no puddling so it must have a gentle slope to help divert water.
