fan replacement feature was difficult and required removal of items and then replacement. the grill cover was smaller than expected and required some drywall work which was not covered by the grill cover.

Item is great but I failed to measure my old van and it would not fit so I cannibalize the new kit and use the motor and the vent cover now mine is good as new

The 20 yer old fan was obnoxiously noisy, around 80 decibels. The replacement took it down to around 68, still loud but doesn't require ear protection! Very easy to install

Not for older style units!

Retro fit for newer models only! Our fan was manufacturered in 1979 and the plug for the fan is located on the side of the box. This itemhas the plug in the corner and does not fit the older style even though the model number is listed on the packaging as a direct fit. Check your plug location prior to purchase!!!

Not even close to being quieter

I was amazed and disappointed in the loudness of this unit. My original Broan was rated at 4.0 Sones. A home builder model. I figured I would install this 2.5 Sones unit to bring the sound down. NOPE! the original unit @ 4.0 Sones was recorded at 67dba and the new unit that was rated @ 2.5 Sones was 65dba. Come on! That is a silly reduction to say the least. Returned unit with a frown.

It is an exact replacement for the 15 year old Braun exhaust fan. The instructions say 10 minute install - It is a perfect fit and took maybe 5 minutes. It is a great option for a basement fan. It is more powerful and quieter than the old fan plus the fan cover is a more attrractive option. It is a little pricey but worth it.

Great option for no access fan replacement

We needed to replace our original, Contractor-grade fan, which has no access to the ductwork. After 23 years, I was worried that my plastic flexible duct might tear if I pulled on it to put a new one on it. All the replacement fans I found, even the "no access" options, required me to connect the duct to the new one. This fan simply replaced that noisy one and reuses the box. It isn't whisper quiet, as I was hoping for, but I knew what I was getting with the Sonne rating. And some people will appreciate the background noise while they are...working things out on the toilet.

Very skeptical that this would work, but it fit and works perfectly for a square sized, old school bath fan replacement. You don’t have to remove the fan box with vent attachment. Just remove the inside unit and the new one snaps right into place. Also works with your old cover if preferred
