This shower base sucks

I installed this base on a job and used 120lbs of mortar under the base. It was great until they started using it and then the base bubbled in the middle, separating from the mortar. I would never recommend this base.

It has potential as the design seems ok but you have to reinforce under ti make placement easier.

Hard to figure set it, too difficult to find the right level. Need to do what you do on square model 38x38 better build and easier to set with the reinforces underneath.

Flimsy and Cheap

For the price especially, this base is incredibly flimsy, has no supporting chairs or cups and has to be bedded perfectly otherwise it will have bounce in it and uneven spots. Do not recommend buying this product at all.

[Rewarded Review] Lost pan

Quality was fine but the shipping company lost it and it took an extra 3 weeks to arrive to me. I had to schedule a pick up basically so they could drop it off at a business.

Dissappointing Quality and Difficult Install

I wish I had ordered the Townsend model I used last time, which has been fantastic, but the lead time was way too long. This one arrived completely trashed due to inadequate packaging and luckily the replacement arrived undamaged. It's flimsy construction with a brittle acrylic finish and no support grid of any kind, which ended up taking two full sacks of mortar to support properly. At a price point only $100 less than the Townsend, it's extremely overpriced and a terrible value

Installation is terrible

The surface of this product are incredibly flexible making installation and specifically installing the mortar beyond difficult. Don't recommend this at all

[Rewarded Review] Shower Pan

Although the quality was fine, we noticed that the surface was smoother than we wanted for a shower pan. We returned it and bought a larger size Kohler product. It’s surface was textured and the color matched our sinks. We also went with the center drain option.

great shower base

No issues. Very solid product. Design nice, and it has a low step in height. Looks modern!

Our Plan B turned out to be pretty decent

I had a different American Standard shower base arranged for our remodel and then the delivery timing wasn't going to work out with the start of the project so this base was Plan B. It was in stock at build.com and a good deal so this became the base that worked out. The contractor had no problem installing it and it feels nice and solid now that it's in. It has a smooth surface without being overly slippery, which is nice, and preferred over a textured surface. I ended up getting an American Standard toilet so the two whites match well. The only issue I've had so far is how the edge—or lack of any lip—interacts with our frameless shower doors and allows for quite a splash out onto the floor, but I can't really fault the AS base alone. And I'm going to guess that AS probably expects most people will be installing framed doors. All in all, it's a nice base, a great low-profile and the drain cover is much nicer than your standard circular grill cover.
