A powerful little fan!

I am impressed with the different power settings. Check the dimensions because it’s smaller than I was expecting, which I ended up being happy with! It’s easy to move from room to room and is the perfect size for a bedroom or small living room.

I L O V E MY NEW VORNADO FAN!

I already have 5 of these wonderful fans and this is my 6th one and I would not trade them for even a higher price fan. They are made in Andover, Kansas and so nice we still have items made in America! This latest fan, which is so cute (smaller than 3 of my other fans), but still does a great job of cooling my family room. And since for the last 3.5 years our electric bills are SO much higher when using our air-conditioners, these fans really are life-savers. I highly recommend this and ALL Vornado fans; you won't be sorry!

Powerful

I recently purchased a second fan after owning the first for over a year. The 3 things I like most. It’s powerful and the speed is easily adjusted by the turn of the dial. It’s easy to clean with the removable shroud. Finally, the low amount of energy it uses. That was the main reason I initially bought it since I use a fan to sleep at night.

I bought this a month ago for our bedroom. It cools the room down much faster than our previous box fan, and the room feels cool in all areas. There are no longer hot spots that the fan couldn't cover. I like that with the dial you can really customize the speed of the fan. It has a nice fan noise for those who like/need a white noise when sleeping. Overall, I am very pleased with this fan.

They make very fine products. I bought the heater and it works pretty good in a controlled atmosphere such as the bathroom with the door shut kept it spot on. Even when you open the door and shut the door behind you, it kicked on for just a little bit with its smart feature. The fan is very good also. DC brushless, variable speed. Too easy to find the right comfort level and it will drop it 2° with the window open on a cold night and drop at 10 degrees!

Best Pedestal Fan I've Ever Owned!

I really can't sing the praises of this fan enough! I love sleeping with a fan going, and I've been searching for a few years now to replace the clunky, loud fan I previously owned. I've bought a few models from other manufacturers and returned them because they were equally clunky and loud. This fan, however, is amazing. It is so quiet that I can barely hear it, and so powerful that it keeps the air cool all night long. It's shorter than I realized, but soon proved that good things come in small packages. I will never go back to another fan. This is simply the best!

A compact fan that can really move a lot of air. If you want a discreet and modern looking fan, this is it. It suits our purpose but is costly for these features. Despite the hype around air flow and circulation, it’s still just a fan and at full speed, just as noisy. As others have remarked, it will be a pain to clean.

Air coolers ineffective? Aircon not allowed because youre renting? Then buy this!!!

The physics behind how this thing works is fascinating. It saved me during 41 degrees Celsius heat. No aircon, no air coolers. Just this Vornado fan.

Great Fan

We have gone through a number of fan's. Spent the $$$ and they just fail! Always the bearings, they just seize up and stop rotating. a fire hazard. We have a small Vornado fan on our sailboat that we have had for years. So we checked them out. Diceded to go with this model for the many feature's and efficeancy of it. It was well worth the extra dollars.

Poor Value

This is what I would consider a Dwarf Pedestal Fan. TBH Ive never seen anything like it. It looks odd being its a pedestal fan with such a small Diameter.

[Rewarded Review] Staying Super Cool -- With The Tornado 683DC!!!

A super cool way of keeping cool, while also saving energy. The unit is energy efficient model (designation DC at the end), and costs a little more -- pays off because it will save on energy bills. Nevertheless, the motor is designed to be more efficient, and does not generate heat like the non DC models-- so the fan also stays super cool!!!

I like the fact that it is compact (especially at the base). We have had other, larger fans that used up a lot of floor space.

Light, easy to move around.

Light, easy to move around. But It's not tornado-strong as the name suggests. I've had a 90w steel fan that this replaces. Footprint is the same but the fan diameter huge difference. Quite loud on max, but all right even at 3/4 up. I don't intend on being close to it on full power anyway. Pricey, and won't beat the generic pedestal fans on strength alone. But considering aesthetics, portability, safety (I have kids and I can't see where I can accidentally insert my finger), no regrets. Haven't tried cleaning it yet, and just don't forget it's a room air circulator and don't expect it to reach one end of the house to the other.

Vornados DO move more air than other fans. They are quiet. This one has a turnable dial not just a selector switch so I can dial the speed where I want. I love it. This is better designed than the similar model I bought over 10 years ago which is also still going strong. I like quiet and I like cool and with this I get both. Worth the investment. Not a gimmick. It is very well designed and ships well. Is easy to assemble. I have rambunctious pets and this has not been knocked over. My other one has been knocked over plenty of times, and it still functions like the day I bought it. Solid purchase.

I have been buying Vornado Fans, humidifiers and heaters for many, many years now. The last two purchases have me disappointed. It makes me wonder if someone bought them out.

It’s a powerful fan for its rather small size.

I purchase this for my mom because she mentioned about this summer’s hot weather. So I chose this air circulator because of its price and value. It spins at 1800 rpm which is very fast. My previous Vornado fan air circulator spun at 1500 rpm which is a high end model at the time. I bought that air circulator in the early 2000s but it can hardly spin now because i lubricated the fan. NEVER lubricate a Vornado air circulator even with a standard fan motor oil.

We moved from a house where all of the rooms had ceiling fans to a house where only the master and family rooms have them. My teenage son has been complaining since. He was used to sleeping with a fan on. He sleeps on a loft bed so finding a quick fix fan was a task. This pedestal air circulator has been amazing. No more complaints from my son. We moved the fan to the highest level and aimed it upwards, and it's been perfect at reaching him. This fan really moves air, too. It's quiet enough that it's not distracting, and it really helps him sleep better at night. Great quality. Great at it's job. It's been a success in every way.

[Rewarded Review] VERY quiet and easy to assemble

When I first opened the circulator box and saw all the separate pieces, I put off assembling it because it seemed like it was going to take a long time. When I finally decided to tackle it, it was very easy to assemble! The instructions were clear and it only took me about 10 minutes to assemble it once I read through the how-to details. I like that the circulator isn't large or bulky, which was surprising to me. It has a sleek and slender design which makes it look nice in the room and doesn't stand out like a bulky standard room fan. The best thing about this air circulator - it is SO QUIET! I can barely hear it when I have it on a moderate-low speed. Of course the sound is more audible if you turn it up to a higher speed, but on the lower end I kept forgetting it was even on because I couldn't hear it! To be honest, i haven't really noticed how it efficiently circulates the air temperature in the room. Since it's winter and cold outside, i have my heat running all day. I've not really noticed how the Vornado helps to circulate the heat. Maybe I need to use it and over a longer period of time and then turn it off and compare the feel of the room without it? Maybe if I keep it running at a higher speed? I'm definitely interested in continuing to use it to see if it really does help use energy more efficiently.

This is my first Vornado product even though I have heard so many great comments about these products over the last few years! This fan is relatively quiet in comparison to other fans. This one specifically is energy smart, which is awesome! The fan's speed is adjustable, it's lightweight and compact for such a powerful fan. I love that the dial allows you to change the speed gradually rather than having preset speeds. I have a smaller bedroom so I love that it doesn't take up a ton of room like my old tower fan that I got rid of after getting this one. The low setting is great and still moves the air nicely and the highest setting gives me the perfect white noise to help me fall asleep. Truly, the best fan I have ever used and I cannot recommend it enough.
