"Can" lights are gone. Along with that, so are the massively hot bulbs, changing bulbs at all, for that matter and heavy power usage to light our houses. This is the new ceiling light system and it is unbelievably great. Everything about these lights is great ... including ease of installation, ease of use, flexibility of use and maybe above all, cost. All we can say is, "give this a try" and you, too will see that the future of lighting is now.

I like the flat surface mount and the extra two trim rings ( color ). Halo has great quality and this has a limited 5 year warranty. This is a selectable color temperature from 2700 to 5000 K, you need to set this before you install in the ceiling. You can not install in a housing, this is for new, remodel, retrofit, the j-box will not fit in the housing. All parts, instructions, extra trim rings and the templates for 3, 4, 6 inch holes are in the instructions. This is easy to install and the Led is dimmable. I chose this to check out the new hinge type installation of the Led and the connectors for the power are in the j-box with a strain relief. All quality with years of service.

I chose these lights to put recessed lights in my kitchen and living room. They are impressive in many ways. The actual light panel is very thin. It mounts easily in a round hole with spring clips. My ceiling is about 7/8 inches thick, but the clips work fine for this thick ceiling. They are also surprisingly bright for such a small panel. I have them mounted about 3 feet apart in the ceiling, and they provide a lot of light in the room. Further, the color temperature of the led panel can be adjusted from 2700 K to 5000 K in about 5 steps.

Easy replacement for those ugly ceiling lights. I replaced all my old ceiling fixtures in the house. Super easy connectors in the back, just plug the wire in, no more wire nuts. They have springs on the sides with allow it to sit flush with the ceiling. Take out the old metal boxes, you may need to make the hole a little wider, template is provided in the box, but this is easy with a dry wall saw. Pull the wires down, connect and push back in the springs hold the fixture in place. Also very easy to take out, just pull down, watch you fingers though, the springs are like rat traps and will give you a little snap on the fingers! I also like how they come with three different settings for light, there's a small switch on the cable that lets you adjust the light to three different brightness.

The hardest part is figuring out where to install and how to space the lights evenly. Do yourself a favor and get a hole saw for your drill. I used a 4 1/8 in. hole saw and the fit was perfect on the first try. I could see if you used a traditional drywall saw and you don't have a lot of experience, it might be somewhat difficult to obtain a clean and consistent cut. The color options are a nice feature if you have existing lights and want to keep all bulbs equal. Dimming is smooth, consistent, and fairly dim on the lowest setting but not as low as you would get with traditional incandescent lights. Very happy with the look and ease of installation.

The Eaton Halo Ultra Thin 4” LED Downlight is described as great for new construction or remodel applications, wet location rated, dimmable, 723 lumens using 12 watts @ 2700K – 3000K – 3500K – 4000K - 5000K selectable settings, 110 degree very wide beam angle, and a lifetime of 50,000 hours based on 6 hours/day usage. The estimated yearly energy cost at 3 hours/day at 10 cents/kWh is $1.31. The 3” diameter lens is textured providing even light distribution. Metal trim with a foam seal – trim width is 4.73” diameter and fixture depth is 1.25” or less, depending on substrate thickness (for the typical ceiling installation the depth is listed as 1/2” based on drywall thickness). It is firmly mounted/secured with two spring clips. The light can have direct contact with insulation. The separate LED driver box can be positioned away from the light.

So Easy! Good sized and strong clips work with holes through multiple layers of ceiling material (ie plaster plus sheetrock). Love that it requires no can. Just set the color temperature you prefer and shove the included junction box through the hole before you clip the light on. If you want to change the color temp just pull down on the trim pull light without fear, the unit is sturdy. Not an oversized bezel so an exact size hole or undersized hole saw cut is best. I used a 4-1/4" and it was nearly too large, 4" would have been better. My lights are in 9' kitchen ceiling and defuse well at that height. The LED's are quite bright so a dimmer is a good idea for most installs. Used a Lutron dimmer and the lights dimmed down to about 10% with no flicker at all. Best I have seen with LED. Love these lights, will use again for sure.

The installation of this light fixture was very easy. Unfortunately, the light started to blink after two hours of operation. I was unable to control it remotely because it had lost all communications ability. I removed it and took it back to HD the next day. I purchased a Philips LED light and dimmer switch, and installed them. The quality of light produced by the Philips light is far superior to the Halo unit and it dims better, too. It was also $15, $12 less than the Halo.

We have a 65 plus year old home with 1950s light fixtures. We are gradually replacing those old fixtures with new LED fixtures. We expect longer service and cheaper electric bills by swapping these fixtures/lights.

We wanted to try these in the laundry room as the lighting there was not adequate. These lights were extremely easy to install. We just removed old light fixture and attached cable to existing box. Then we cut two holes in the ceiling, wired to quick connects in the supplied boxes, and clipped flush mount light in the ceiling. We then covered the old light fixture box, now it is just a junction box. The hardest part was covering the old hole to match the ceiling (but that wasn't really that hard either). I liked the feature to change the light colors, also. The only thing I think I could say against the light is that after the light is turned off, you hear a few clicking sounds. It may just be the cooling effect. The lights are not hot, but they do get warm. I hope they last 22 years like the box says, because you must replace the fixture and not just a bulb. We liked them so much that we put 4 more in the kitchen.

This is the perfect solution for my utility closet. I converted it to a pantry but it was dark inside. This light is easy to install and fits into a small space without any installation problems. I added a pressure switch to the door jam so that the light automatically comes when you open the door to the closet/pantry. One of the great features is the ability to pre-select the color temperature of the light between 2700K and 5000K. I prefer the daylight 500k in most applications as it brightens up the area and gives more light. The direct mount is easy to do and saves a lot of time. I highly recommend this fixture for applications like dark closets, hallways and entry lights.

These lights are easy to install and the selectable light color was a great feature. I don't like the bright blue light that some led lights have and these didn't give off the stark light I don't care for. The light was still not quite as "soft" as a soft white incandescent bulb but not bad. The fact that they are very thin allows for placement in situations where standard recessed light cans won't fit. They simply snap into the ceiling with the spring loaded wings on the sides. The wiring is done inside the lighting unit that comes with the light. Then you simply plug in the light into the lighting unit. Be careful to line up the arrows on the that wiring. The arrows are very small and difficult to see. I think they will only plug in one way but the arrows help to locate the correct orientation. The light seems to be as bright as a 60 watt flood bulb. Hooked them up to some GE wifi dimmers for led lights and they worked fine. Can control the lights with my phone if I want to now. The only improvement I would like to see is enlarging the recess for the wiring connection. It is small and I don't think you could get more than two 14 gauge Romex wires inside.

These LED recessed lights are the most amazing lighting products available for ease of installation and effective lighting. They snap right in place and they come equipped with wire connectors allowing you to string them together with a simple push connector provided on each fixture. No cans to deal with, just cut a round hole using the provided template and the spring clips hold the fixture firmly in place. You can put these lights all over the house for general lighting or for accent lighting as desired. They are well made and the finish quality is excellent. They will look good anywhere you put them. And the come in 4" diameter and 6" diameter. Light level is adjustable with the switch provided on the electrical box.
