Decent Chopper Gor Home Baker
Nice little chopper; it would be ideal for a baker (small batches). Works great on softer nuts like walnuts, pecans and cashews, but almonds were really challenging and I was afraid they’d break it. It chops pretty fine, in fact it produces a lot of very fine nut powder along with some bigger chunks. I wanted to use this to make trail mix, but it’s not working out because of all the fine powder.
Very simple and useful.
Works well. Best suited for walnuts and other nuts with 'edges.' Peanuts not so much.
I had one that I dropped and broke. The only difference is that the glass container on my original one had measuring markings.
Cheaply made. Wore out quickly.
Did not last. One of the prongs was already bent when I got it new. The others bent from chopping almonds within a few months. This was because the metal used for the prongs that push the nuts into the chopping blades bent easily. After most of the prongs were bent, the chopper didn’t work anymore.
Norpro nut chopper
I’ve used this chopper all my life cause I had my mothers and it always worked wonderfully then mine broke and I though I would never find one cause I didn’t think they made them anymore but then through Walmart I found one exactly like the one I had of my mothers and was excited and bought two just in case! They work great!
Is great!
Loved it! I had one before, but it didn't survive the move. It is the best for small batches of things or for personal daily use!
Grinder Happy
I've never been happier with an easy to use item. it grinds nuts for salads where folks can easily eat them. Also, I have used to grind whole cloves for a recipe.
Best Back to Basics tool for chopping pecans!!
I love this product. Had one when I was a little girl but broke the glass container . Never able to find another one until now! Chops pecans to perfection. No big mess to use it. Back to basics is the way to go for this tool! Thank you, WM. For sticking my favorite childhood item!!❤️
Highly recommend.
Love this chopper. Have been looking for this item for a long time. I had one that was plastic with a rubber seal. It was difficult to clean and the plastic discolored when I sanitized it. The glass jar is much easier to clean. Highly recommend this item.
Nice for the price
Like the glass bottom/reservoir. Plastic top and metal blades a bit on the cheaply-made side, but as expected for the price. Grandkids like turning the crank to chop the nuts.
Kitchen Item Necessity.
A nut chopper is not used often, yet when a recipe calls for finely chopped nuts, this inexpensive kitchen item is a true necessity. After using one for 40 plus years, it was time to replace with a new one.
Chops once-through
This chops peanuts, pecans and walnuts in a way that provides a more even chop than most choppers. It's more like a once-through grinder. It can struggle with dry, hard almonds. (Don't recommend that.)
[Rewarded Review] Just like the one my Mom had! Perfect
With all the gadgets we have - food processors, blenders etc - there is sometimes NOTHING as good as a simple tool that is easy, quick, and a no-brainer clean up. I just had my holiday cookie baking festival and just LOVED the ease of this product. When I finally come down from my cookie coma - will use this to chop some nuts for an ice-cream sundae!
This nut chopper is exactly what I wanted!
For years I had a nut chopper just like this one. Unfortunately it was a casualty of a fire. I've been searching for one like it for months. This one fills my requirements perfectly. It performs just like I want and I am so pleased with it. And just in time for my Christmas baking.
The good and the annoying
Pros: The stainless steel chopping teeth are well made and it appears they will hold up well over time. Also like the ample-sized reservoir for holding the chopped nuts. Cons: The grinder handle leaves a lot to be desired. It has a loose, white plastic "sleeve" on it that should have been fixed in place. Instead it slips sideways, back and forth, when you turn the handle so you have to keep re-positioning your hand as you crank the handle. I'd still recommend this nut chopper, but with reservations.
Very good product
I enjoy using pecans in my baking , wit sweet potatoes and salads, the Norpro 11/4 cup is the right size for me. the blades are sharp and easier than using a knife on a cutting board to cut the pecans or walnuts for cookies. Easy to store, received promptly to my frontdoor and price was very good, I highly recommend
Horrible Product - Don't Buy!!!!
This is a very poorly made product. It cannot sustain the slightest grinding of any nuts without the cheap, soft metal blades bending into untenable and dangerous positions. Unbelievably, this is the second time I bought this product (you'd think I would have learned the first time - what's wrong with me?). I will not be fooled a third time! Whatever you do, do NOT buy this product. Any nut grinder would be better than this.
[Rewarded Review] Not what I expected!
As you can see, this picture does not represent what you will receive. As you can see this nut chopper has measurements on it. Which is why I bought it. Imagine my surprise whenever it arrives and it’s exactly like the one I already have!! Ugh! So be warned, DO NOT buy if you want one with the measurements printed on the side.
[Rewarded Review] Disappointing chopper
I wanted a small nut chopper for quick cooking peanuts as a topping on my Thai meals and desserts. The holes are too big, and most of my nuts fall right through, unchopped. The gadget is very difficult to clean as well. The blades aren't removable, so you have to crank it while cleaning it to try to get everything with a small bottle brush.
No good for whole almonds!!
This nut chopper will not work for whole almonds! They are too hard and thick. Extremely difficult to turn crank with almonds I did try and bent the rotating arms inside. Use it for sliced almonds and it will be ok as well as for the softer walnuts, cashews. and others. Will look for a chopper which can handle whole almonds, chopping them with a knife blade end is just too time consuming. Live and learn.
