My ac units are in the attic, and the condensate drain goes to the sink before the p trap. The air pressure from the units were enough to keep the old traps dry, so air made its way to my sink and you could hear it from the overflow hole. This trap holds enough water to create a seal and prevent airflow from making that gurgling noise. It's easy to install, and works great. Very happy overall. Will definitely recommend this to others who have similar issues.

Awesome condensate p-trap

Very handy P-trap for your AC unit. As with any condensate trap you will need to brush or vacuum it out on occasion. The clear portion gives you a clear visual indicator as to its condition.

I bought two of these just for the clear PVC U-shaped pipe. Couldn't seem to find them anywhere else. I use them for aquarium overflows to replace my white PVC elbows. Now I can see if I have a proper syphon and the flow rate is amazing. I don't know what to do with these weird T's though..

I discovered that the installers on my ac systems did not set secondary drain up to drip into the drain pan. Primary condensation goes straight into a drain beneath sink. If it plugs, water cannot escape from bottom of ac plenum and a ceiling leak will happen eventually when water finds a pin hole. With addition of a threaded x FIP coupling and a bit of pipe, I installed this unit to enable secondary line to leak into pan but avoid having the cold air blowing since the clear section was left filled with water/bleach. Note that none of the connections are fixed so you can configure and glue as you wish.
