Very well packaged (bit of a waste) but I guess this is what is needed to prevent them from breaking. We painted them for a monochromatic look (same color as wall) and it's pretty sleek. If you are looking for a super bright reading light, this is not it. But if you want to create soft ambiance that lights the room up enough, this is perfect.
