Llove these cast iron Dutch ovens so much that thave 3 of them and I'm still looking to buy more. I can cook a complete meal from stir-frying and frying the meat all the way to completing dinner. I cook with less heat, which is great because standing on a hot stove in the summer is something I don't want at all. I love them because they are so easy to clean after cooking stews, spaghetti sauce and Coq de Vin, and I also use them to bake bread from time to time. It's a great pot for large meals. I recommend buying it, the quality of this product is excellent.

My Favorite Cookware

Soups and stews. I can brown ingredients on the stovetop and the let the oven finish the cooking. Great for chicken cacciatore. I really enjoy cooking in this Dutch oven.

To preface, I love Threshold products, this was given to me as a gift. As an avid home cook, I was excited and hesitant to try the Threshold Cast Iron Dutch Oven to my kitchen essentials because I haven’t owned any of their kitchen appliances and I’ve heard not so great things about their cookware. Unfortunately, this gift left much to be desired. While cast iron cookware is renowned for its even heat distribution and durability, this particular Dutch oven fell short in several key areas. First and foremost, the cooking performance was deeply disappointing. Despite following recipes and adjusting temperatures accordingly, food consistently burnt far more quickly than anticipated. This resulted in charred meals and a frustrating cooking experience. Whether I was simmering soups or braising meats, I found myself constantly battling with burnt bottoms and uneven cooking. Moreover, the cleaning process was far more laborious than with other cast iron cookware in my collection. Despite my best efforts, stubborn food residue seemed to cling to the surface, requiring excessive scrubbing and soaking to remove. This not only added extra time to my post-cooking routine but also led to concerns about damaging the seasoning of the Dutch oven over time. Overall, while the Threshold Cast Iron Dutch Oven 6qt may initially seem like a budget-friendly option, its subpar performance ultimately makes it a poor investment for serious home cooks. From inconsistent cooking results to difficult cleaning processes, this Dutch oven fails to live up to the standards expected of cast iron cookware. I would strongly advise looking elsewhere for a more reliable and user-friendly option. One last thing that I forgot to mention… The cast iron cracked after 4 uses while I was cooking!! I’ve never had an issue with any of my cast irons breaking so easily. I would never recommend their cooking appliances, however, everything else is amazing!l

Buy it

This is not too heavy. It’s the perfect shape when cooking a roast or chicken. A round Dutch oven doesn’t give the same amount of room for potatoes and vegetables as this oval one. Very easy to clean.

Buyer beware.

Beware! Not top quality. The Dutch oven I received had multiple chips in the enamel around the rim. Too much money for a defective product. You are directed to contact Le Creuset for warranty claim. Be prepared to spend more money if you get a defective product.

This is a Christmas gift for my daughter so I haven’t used it myself. I have however used Le Creuset for decades and they are an integral part of my cooking. Buying my daughters a Le Creuset is a pleasure because I know they will use them for many, many meals and years to come. Pics to follow!

Fantastic. My 3rd piece from consiglios. Packed safely with fully compostable packing peanuts. All 3 pieces are in perfect condition. Love the piece! Perfect for oblong bread, roasting meats, etc.

Le Creuset is just the

Le Creuset is just the best. Slow cooking your food in the cast iron cocotte is amazing ! Cleaning is super easy. Remains hot long after out of the oven ! Every kitchen needs a Le Creuset cocotte !

Big beautiful blue workhorse

Love this beautiful Dutch oven. I can?t believe it was on sale. The color is gorgeous. The white interior helps me to see items in the pot as they char and the loops on the handle makes it easy to move from the oven and stovetop. I use it for roasting and soups but mainly bought it to bake sourdough. It?s a little larger than I?d like for sourdough but it still does a beautiful job anyway.
