[Rewarded Review] Great fan, great design!
Great bathroom exhaust fan. It is very quiet, and sleek looking. I really liked that the portion that would typically be a grill with a little light in it, is completely different from most. This fan’s grill face is all the light fixture, with a great feature that is a night light in the center. That being said, you could have up to 3 different switches for control of this fan (1 switch for the fan, 1 for the main light, and 1 for the night light). All of the wires are very clearly labeled on the fan making it very simple to wire in. The fan pulls in air from a small opening between the grill face and the ceiling. It was a very typical installation, and came with the hardware needed to install it.
[Rewarded Review] Best for New Construction
I selected the Alison Bathroom Ventilation Fan with LED light to replace an existing fan with an incandescent lamp in my downstairs powder room, but was unable to do so because installation requires an accessible attic or crawl space which I did not have in a downstairs bath. So, I decided to use it in my upstairs bathroom where I did have access to the attic. Unfortunately, the opening for the existing light was too large (9x9"); whereas, only 7 1/2 x 7 3/4") was required for this model and now there's a gap between the opening and the fixture. The opening also needs to be adjacent to a ceiling joist or wall stud to connect the fan housing, and I had to mount another board to the joist for the fan housing to be centered over the opening for the light fixture. Connecting the electrical was also a challenge. One of the features of this fixture is a "night light" that requires an additional wall switch, but that would be an add-on to my existing set of wall switches in the bathroom. So, I connected the LED night light to the regular overhead light which caused a strange look when the light was turned on, but I decided not to rewire it to avoid the night light. The night light could be a really great feature for new construction when electrical is planned and added. The instructions also specify using quick connectors with certain specifications, but the kit doesn't contain connectors and they must be purchased separately. Overall, the final product is attractive and operates satisfactorily and I would have given it a 5 star review for new construction.
[Rewarded Review] Stylish fan
Got this exhaust for the mother in law suite in my home. I’ve got to get my electrician to install it for me after the holidays. Some projects I don’t do anymore if they require getting in a ladder. This fan light combo is very stylish and will look much better than the old one currently in that bathroom. The trim on the light is very attractive and the exhaust motor is more powerful than the existing one.
[Rewarded Review] Best Fan Features I have ever had
I got this fan with a light, but I didn’t have great expectations because I have seen other fan lights and they don’t pt out a lot of light. I used this as the main light for a small bathroom and it works well.
[Rewarded Review] Get the AKICON switch AK-SW-FLHT
This exhaust fan has three different lighting settings and seems very well built and has good quality electrical connectors to connect the exhaust fan to the light unit which also connects by using metal hangers that hold it in place. Per the instructions you should also get the three rocker switch made by the same company. The fan comes with the vent valve which is plastic and needs to be installed to the box and connected to the outside air vent hose.
[Rewarded Review] Works great!
This AKICON exhaust fan replaced a 20-year-old fan that we have in our laundry room. The old one was noisy (if when clean), and really did not do very well to ventilate the room - Which is 9' x11'. This new fan is SUPER quiet and seems to be very efficient at moving the air. I usually flip the fan on when laundry is being done just to ventilate the space. When this fan is on, you can barely hear the fan spinning. Installation is fairly easy if you're familiar with standard home wiring. This one took only about 15 mins since the existing fan was already in place and the opening in the ceiling was the same size as the new housing - (Great!). I simply removed the old fan housing, connected the wiring, and installed the new housing in place. Six sheet metal screws are included, which is convenient. There are wiring options to connect and control an LED night light and main light which are located in the main cover, however I didn't have an extra switch or electrical run yet for the night light option, so I left it disconnected for now. Once installed, the fan in general looks great and modern. (See photo). Really happy with this AKICON fan so far!
[Rewarded Review] Lots of Features Bath Fan
This bath fan by Akicon is an excellent product with a lot nice features. This fan is a very quiet (1.5 scones) with great air movement (90 cfm). This an Energy Star rated product with an integrated LED light...which can be set at one of 3 different levels. A really nice feature is the night light. This fan can be used for new construction or for replacement (check the sizing). A compatible switch is available (sold separately) that can set the light options, humidity sensor, and night light which enhances this products function. It also has very modern look to enhance any bath refresh project.
[Rewarded Review] Very nice Bath Fan with multiple features!
I ordered the Akicon Decorative Silver Fan Speed 90 CFM Ceiling Bathroom Exhaust Fan. The silver trim looks good on this fan. This fan has options such as changing the main light from Warm White to Natual White or Daylight. It also has a night light.
[Rewarded Review] I recommend it
I have been a full service builder and remodeler for 54 years, and as such I’ve built and remodeled a lot of bathrooms. One thing I’ve found is that bathroom ventilation is critical. Two things are important in this regard, 1. Adequate ventilation, and 2. A quiet bath fan. This Akicon Decorative Silver Fan Speed 90 CFM Ceiling Bathroom Exhaust Fan with 18-Watt Dimmable 3CCT LED Light meets those requirements. As such I recommend it.
[Rewarded Review] Attractive light and fan
This Fan light combo with a nightlight is a nice addition to our bathroom remodel. This one is unique as it includes a separate wire for the night light. Which will likely require another wire! Install was simple. I couldn’t figure out how to change the color temperature, at least it want obvious. Only other issue I had was getting all the wiring back in, with the extra night light and each function having a separate neutral, this made a very tight fit.
[Rewarded Review] Nice and quiet.
This is a quiet fan. The trim works well in my bathroom. It gives off plenty of light. If anything, the night light may be too bright. It does a nice job of removing smells and moisture from my bathroom. If anything, it is a bit oversized for the small bathroom.
[Rewarded Review] Akicon Decorative Silver Fan Speed 90 CFM Ceiling Bathroom Exhaust Fan with 18-Watt Dimmable 3CCT LED Light
The Akicon Decorative Silver Fan Speed 90 CFM Ceiling Bathroom Exhaust Fan with 18-Watt Dimmable 3CCT LED Light was a great replacement for my current bathroom fan. My installer / electrician installed this with no issues. It’s clean looking and very quiet. Looks great in my bathroom. My installer said it was so easy he will be purchasing this brand in the future
[Rewarded Review] Decent fan
I picked this fan up for a kids bathroom at one of my properties. My main desire was to have one that pulled enough CFM out of the bathroom to quickly get out steam and smell. But I like about the newer generation of fans that you can change the color of the LED lights, and some also have built-in speakers for entertainment, although this one does not. This fan just like others is pretty straightforward installation. It’s important that events directly outside either through your roof or the side side of your house.
[Rewarded Review] Quite, lots of features
This fan/light/night light is the perfect bathroom addition.
[Rewarded Review] Nice Fan With Many Options
I got this exhaust fan to replace the old builder-grade fan that lasted for over 30 years in our master bath! Note that for existing construction, you will probably need attic access to mount the fan to a joist and to connect your wires and exhaust duct. The unit is designed with a fan, light and night light. You would need three switches to take advantage of all three, so check your wiring. The manufacturer does offer a triple-switch to accommodate all three, but you will need separate wiring for all three options to be available. My old unit was just a fan with no light ...haven't decided how I'll wire it yet, though. If you're uncertain, please consult an electrician. If you do the work yourself, turn the breaker off! Nice fan with a lot of different options!
[Rewarded Review] Feature rich product that can be used in a variety of rooms.
There are many attributes we liked about this fan, and before we mention them, I would like to emphasize two features. It's just not for the bathroom and it doesn’t look like a conventional exhaust fan, which makes it a suitable fan to be used in a variety of rooms to exhaust or circulate humid air. Yes, it’s hard to notice the slot between the light cover and the fan body because its only 3/8 of an inch in width, but that might be an issue if you’re trying to move a lot of air. In our case, where we chose to install it, the room was much smaller than your typical bathroom (smaller than suggested85 square ft room), so it was perfect. One thing you should note about this fan (as we realized), the installation requires an opening to accommodate housing dimension of 7-1/2 in. x 7-1/4 in. x 5-3/4 in. – again in our case, we installed it in a room with drop-ceiling, so not an issue. If you’re into numbers, we did sense the fan unit was quiet and operates at 90 CFM at 1.5 sones. I liked the variety in color temperatures 3 options (2700K, 4000K, 5500K) and night light option. If you have not installed exhaust fans before, consider assigning this to a professional, otherwise this is a good purchase.
[Rewarded Review] Good fan, but not a simple replacement
This is a good exhaust fan. I got it to replace a builder installed fan that is 8+ years old. This one is much quieter, while still clearing steam as well as the original fan. That surprised me because the vent is only a 3/8” slot between the light/cover and the base of the fan enclosure.
[Rewarded Review] Works wonderfully
The unit has three separate wires for the fan, the main light, and the night light. Therefore, to fully utilize its functions, three separate switches are needed. The fan is pretty quiet when turned on. It takes the air from the edge of the light (also acting as the cover). I like the design of the unit. It makes the installation very easy. You still need to get to the attic to finish the installation. The motor runs smoothly and efficiently. The night light is very easy on the eyes. I can leave it on at night with no problem. Overall, the quality is pretty good.
[Rewarded Review] Well made and substantial
The Akicon ceiling fan/light combo is a nicely made unit. The fit and finish of the mechanical section is very well done. No cheap metal or rough edges showing. the wiring is nicely labeled so it is an easy install. The second part with the light is a nice quality white plastic. It sits off the metal mechanical unit to create the space for the air to flow. All connections are plugs so very easy to connect. (Electrical lines are wire nut type to the house wiring.). The unit is not yet installed so i cannot speak to the LED light but it seems to be very well made like the rest of the unit.
