Horrible chemical smell - returned!

This rug pad has a very strong chemical smell along with a warning sticker about this banned chemical on the packaging. I returned these rug pads because I have dogs who walk on my rugs and do not want their paws to come into contact with this chemical.

Quality Miss!!!

My order was for a 2 x 14' size pad and when I went to set up my new rug today, the pad you sent was 2 x 6'. I had also ordered a 6' rug but did not need a pad for it. Someone was not paying attention when they read my order. Knowing I should have checked upon receipt, I will have to eat the cost. I ordered a replacement today for what should have been sent with this order.

Ultra white?

More like ultra yellow. And a dirty yellow at that. The cashier and I had a good chuckle over this as we both noticed the dirty looking colour. But overall the pad adds a cushy comfort to our carpet and was the perfect size.

Measurements are exact; not 100% effective.

I have two dogs that scoot my rugs around. This helps but doesn't make it entirely immobile. I got a 24" pad for a 24" rug and it peeks out if it slides a bit. You might consider downsizing instead of doing exact measurements. I'm going to put some rug tape between the pad and the rug to see if that helps with that.

Non-slip Surface Rug Pad

Substantially lighter in weight than the one I previously had. Appears to work as described. I've only laid it under my Persian runner about a week ago...so it is difficult to determine longevity hence only 4 stars. There was no significant odour as stated in other reviews.

Carpet rolled too tight

I love the quality of the carpet, except that after 2 months the ripples are still in the rug from being rolled so tight. I’ve tried steaming the rug which helped slightly. What else can I do to flatten it?

It's as advertised. I was expecting a thicker pad but it is what is advertised. Shame on me for not paying closer attention. The quality is very good. You won't be disappointed if it is the correct thickness for you. Good value.

Great purchase!

Great purchase and a great price! This is my second rug pad of this brand from Walmart and I am always happy with the purchase. Covered size it was supposed to and made rugs feel so plush.

Strong Toxic Chemical Exposure!

I unwrapped the package and felt faint from the incredibly strong toxic odor! Only after, did I notice it had a Prop Warning for a toxic chemical DEHP. After installing the pad and walking across it, I noticed my feet felt tingly and my head began to hurt. I had on socks and slippers! Then I put the rug on top and could still smell the chemical! Even touching the packaging that the pad was in, my feet and hands feel tingly. I'm not typically sensitive to chemicals but this one is overpowering even for me. It's absolutely not okay. They should've put the warning on information page before I bought and exposed myself to it!

Nice pad

We didn't want to add any thickness to an already thick area rug; we just needed something to prevent the rug from drifting on a hardwood floor. This is a pretty standard thin rug pad, but it does the job. I find the pricing on this web site to be competitive compared to other stores.

Arrived quickly, light weight, holds the rug in place without movement. Didn’t have the rubber chemical type scent like some others I’ve ordered. Will be purchasing more for other rugs in the house. I felt this pad was reasonably priced. What else can you say about a rug pad.

It's a good rug pad. It helps with slipping. I would recommend to still use rug tape to help hold the corners down of this and the rug. It is easy to cut to Size and does help with slipping.

Safavieh non slip rug pad disappointed

The pad does not stay in place . slips and moves even with a large heavy rug over it. I thought with this name the non slip pad would be a good one but just goes to show I should have gone with B H %26 G from Walmart. Lesson Learned. Rugs in this brand are a different story of course .

Great rug pad for the price

I shopped around because I hate paying a small fortune for something as unglamorous as a rug pad. This one does the job--keeps the rug in place while not harming the hardwood floor. Easy to trim to size. Plus, I didn't pay an arm and a leg.

Does the job for an acceptable price

I put this under a rug on wood-look ceramic tile in my family room. While not crazy about the initial strong smell which took a half day to go away, I have no complaints otherwise. It was easy to cut excess once rug was down and should be better for the tile than having the jute rug backing scrapping on the floor. Learned the hard way that even with heavy furniture on top of a jute-backed rug, there will be enough movement to wear away the finish on a floor. Tile might have been fine, but I am not taking any chances.

So far I cannot believe I had not ordered backing from the getgo! But then again, in my defense, I had no idea that living on the water with the winds so heavy Last Summer would actually lift that rug, Nevertheless, I have not removed bricks on each side yet, even though that rug hasn't moved an inch! It's my smartest purchase thus far and I have made many purchases from Overstock which are well made, durable and full of style! I absolutely recommend anyone living on the water with a rug on deck to purchase backing for it!!!

Beautiful BUT…

Beautiful pattern and colors…but it is kinda scratchy and the carpet fibers are loose and get everywhere. I cannot sit on my rug without having carpet fibers stuck all over my legs and pants. I’ve had the rug for several weeks and vacuumed it multiple times. I think this is pretty typical of a new rug this kind however I am worried because after spot cleaning a small area today the fibers look very worn and different than the fibers on the carpet that I did not spot clean.

When you first open the package it has a very strong chemical order. I set this outside for a couple hours before putting it the house. It was as advertised, and works as excepted. It isn't thick to give extra cushion but as it turns out that was a good thing as I have door that opens over this rug and it just barely glides open. Keeps the rug in place, so I'm happy.
