Irony is not just a water filter

For years I had the inline style with the clips; discontinued due to leaks. I bought this unit to ease my mind. Curious, I have this unit in my RV for years with 1/4 pex, its a rolling earthquake and no problem. This install is with copper. Two months later its leaking. Leaking outlet side and the seal seamed to decay/transfer onto the pipe, hammer? Replaced the unit who knows, one more thing to worry about.

I received it without the plastic cover and had water in it. It probably was exchange by a dishonest customer that used it and got a new one.

So far it’s great. Installation was very easy; as simple as cutting the waterline and inserting both ends into the filter. I like that it came with the option to mount directly to the refrigerator. Hopefully no issues in the future.

Easy filter replacement and only needs to be changed every 6 months. I have it inline before my refrigerator and ice maker... works great

Easy to put in purchasing three at a time is my economical. This is my second time purchasing. I like when they send reminders and discount.

Leaks from top

The product seemed ok but I discovered a puddle of water and figured out that the top is not secured and allows water to leak. I need a new top please. As of yet I have not heard back from GE. The filter worked well until it didn’t.

Trying out for the first time since hearing about chemicals and medicine in water! Works great easy setup!

Just need the cartridge, had to buy the filter get that. Poor support

I gave it 2 stars because it is small and easy to mount. I bought 2 and the first one didn’t let water through and leaked from the intake. The 2nd one leaked water at the intake but let water through. I bought something else.

Could not get it to stop leaking around discharge side.

Filter was defective. Plumber installed it and water sprayed out of the intake side. Had to go buy another one while plumber waited. New one as well as old one we replaced were same GE model and work great.

The GE in-line water filtration system was easily installed by my handyman. There were no problems.

I have to return 2 times due to leaking issue. I will never buy this again. It was a waste of time

Doesn’t Filter Chlorine Taste

I purchased this water filter for our refrigerator. We were very disappointed. After we put the new one in and ran the water through it until you could then drink it it never really tasted right. And within about two weeks, we began to taste the chlorine pretty strongly. I replaced the cartridge, flushed it and again within a couple of weeks it was bad again. I would not recommend this filter.

Made filter placement easy, but filters are too expensive for only a 6-month lifespan.

Leaks

Defective fittings out of the box. Made about 6 push fittings and they were all fine except the connection on the outlet of the filter. Traded for a replacement at Home Depot. Exact same problem. Don’t waste your time.
