LIVING IN LINT FOR DAYS

The look and color of this collection is beautiful and I loved that it is 100% cotton. The bedspread felt cool during sleep. But, that is the only positive things I can say about this bedspread. Washed it before I put it on my bed. Straight out of the washer there were pieces of the material all over my washer, falling to the floor, on my self. Same thing happened when I put in my dryer. Once I placed it on my bed, I had lint all over my bed and house. I mean in the hallways, living room, bedrooms, etc. Tried it for a week and I was breathing in the loose particles to the point I would have to wake up at night and drink water due to the scratchy feeling in my throat. I could not place anything on my bed, especially clothes because it would get full of the lint/material. My washer and dryer broke down due to the amount of fabric the shams and bedspread shed. It turned out to be a costly nightmare. Not to mention the amount of time I spent cleaning the fabric and lint it would release. DEFINITELY WOULD NOT RECOMMEND.

Cozy, Beautiful, Linty!

The color, feel, and size of the quilt are fabulous and just the vibe I was looking for. However, I ignored other reviews about the amount of lint! I washed and dried the quilt twice and emptied the dryer vent six times while drying to get all the lint. I wish I had taken a picture. But, my cat seems to approve so 4 stars! I like it.

Love the oversizedness!!!! Fit perfect on my King bed with plenty of length hanging over!!! Color is gorgeous!!! Super soft too!!!

Not good

Not happy. This bedspread sheds like crazy. Little fuzz pieces are everywhere. They are on the sheets, the floor and me.

Purchase this bread spread It was a beautiful quality but it sheds like crazy. I've washed it three times and it continues to shed, it's on everything sheets, clothes, floor, in your hair everywhere. Do not buy!!!

Looked great in pics, but looks like a towel

I got this thinking it would look great - the pattern showing in the pics looked beautiful but in person it just looked like a worn out old towel. Not an attractive look for a bedspread.

Fuzz worse than ever

I washed this item so many times, probably five, I finally gave up... I dried it in the dryer and what a mistake, the fabric (fuzz actually) was every where. This caused so much mess it was horrible. Shook it out as best as I could and donated it.

The shedding is beyond acceptable, It sheds more than my dog. Fuzz is everywhere and may even cause problems clogging in the dryer vent.

This bedspread sheds too much. Im afraid to wash it. It might just fall apart.

Very disappointed in the amount of cotton that this quilt shed prior to use. It was laundered correctly, and the shed was dangerous. If I could send it back, I would. The pattern is exactly what was desired, a chenille spread should have great cotton yarn, but buyer beware.

Poor quality, lint trap, thankfully my husband knew how to clean Washer and Dryer, fire hazard with all the lint. There is no backing, you can pull the design threads out by hand. Sorry I made this purchase.

Terrible quality

Just recieved this Rio Bedspread 2 days ago and I am disappointed in the quality, I can't even describe how terrible it is, even on sale it is a rip off. Nothing like the picture. Penneys quality has gone down hill, it has been my favorite store to shop at but I am tired or sending ack items

Sheds Horrible!

i bought this bedspread about two weeks ago. It's not as thick as I thought it was gonna be it is a pretty color but it sheds horribly. I washed it hung it on the line running in and put it in the dryer and the dryer filter was full. Every time you make the bed fuzz balls fly everywhere. If you lay any clothes on your bed before you put them away they're all full of fuzzball's. If you look at it fuzzball's everywhere. Definitely would not buy again.

I wanted a big light weight spread for my king sized bed because I tend to get hot at night. This spread is way lighter than I expected and is basically just cotton in between the tufted parts. A little too light weight but oh well.

Beautiful, but Buyer Beware! This is a beautiful bedspread. The pattern is stunning, and after washing the cotton is super soft. However, the shedding is outrageous! I wish I had taken pictures. The first wash went like this: I had a wastebasket FULL of shedded raw cotton stuck to the sides of my washer. The cotton was falling off in my hands when I took the bedspread out of the machine. Once I placed it in the dryer, I had to babysit the process for more than 4 hours. Here's why. I had more than 2 wastebaskets FULL of cotton shedding. The lint trap was full every 5 minutes of tumbling. Now the bedspread was actually dry within an hour. Expected outcome. But the cotton shedding was not even close to done. I had to tumble this on air fluff (no heat) for another 3 hours just to get it manageable. And that meant checking the lint trap every 5 to 10 minutes. Because, yes, -- it was FULL of COTTON. I bought this for a guest room. After carefully inspecting this item following the washing and drying, the stitching and weave which creates the tufted pattern was not staying intact. It was very vulnerable. This bedspread requires a backing and is in NO WAY REVERSIBLE! I plan to keep it because I can work with it. I plan to add a backing and tack it in carefully for a finished product. This will not get heavy use in my home and I'm anticipating this will last and serve it's purpose for my guests. Its dimensions do not drape as in the picture. I ordered a Queen and it comes perfectly to the floor with a standard 8 inch mattress which is 12 inches from the ground. I hope this information is helpful. By the way, the amount of lint and cotton shedded into my washer and dryer has required servicing or it could prove to be a fire hazard. So please consider if this is worth your time and energy before you invest in this item. I would anticipate you could encounter the same issues I have. To add: I bought the Euro and pillow shams in red and blue to complete my bedroom set. They did the same thing as the bedspread. So this was not an isolated incident for me. It was consistent with all 3 products in different colors, cuts, and sizes. Having been made in India (which I very much appreciate, by the way) the manufacturer did not prep the product for the consumer. That burden was obviously left to the end user/buyer. Last words: Beautiful but BUYER BEWARE!

The color is beautiful and fits well on my bed. Though I know chenille has lint, I was surprised about the amount of lint that came out when I washed it. The lint trap in my dryer filled to the max TWICE before it dried. I now have to get the exhaust hose cleaned because the dryer's air flow is not good. Hopefully, the next time I wash it I won't have that problem. Other than that, I like the bedspread.

Bedspread and pillow shams

The color and size was what I was looking for but I didn't care for the texture of the fabric. The feel had rather a sticky feel. Maybe it will soften after laundering.

Sheds endlessly

It’s on my bed and looks good, but before putting it on, I washed it and the lint was endless. I kept running it in the dryer and the filter would fill up very full every time. Ran it 6 times and still. Lint all over the furniture and in the air as I put it on the bed. I don’t think it will ever stop shedding. Penny’s needs to get better quality. Stop selling this one.

Do not buy

I brought 2 of these, washed the blue and lint balls everywhere I my washer. Put in dryer didn't dry first. Had to dry about three times. Lint balls everywhere. In dryer. Sheds very bad. I have washed other king size in my washer and dryer before. Will be returning the grey ASAP. Probably can't return the washed on. Very disappointed.

My favorite cover but it sheds!

I love the color and the pattern but it sheds badly, even after several washings. I normally buy chenille from this company, but I am not really happy with this one.
