Would Not Recommend

The dining set was extremely complicated to put together. The table is not as sturdy as it should be and has a few chips in the edges since the wood is cheap. The chairs were so difficult to assemble and there was not enough glue to put them together. They also came with screws that were not cut properly and made the process that much harder. Plus the fact that other tools were needed but were not mentioned prior to the instructions. The assembly instructions say 1.5 hours. I just graduated with an art degree and it took 2 of us 4 hours to complete. It is definitely not a quick construction by any means. The only good thing is the chairs do seem strong, but I shouldn't have to order another table to be able to enjoy them.

Chairs Impossible to Assemble with Provided Tools

You're better off not purchasing this set and spending extra on something of better quality and less infuriating to assemble. If it wouldn't be so inconvenient, I'd box this up and return it in a heartbeat. But, if you're a masochist, you'll need more tools than provided. The included allen wrenches are a complete joke. Your fingers will thank you if you go out and buy one of those multi-tool screwdrivers with replaceable bits. You'll need a 5/32" hex bit, otherwise good luck getting the screws and bolts secure. Additionally, every single screw hole in the chairs isn't drilled wide enough, so screwing them together is an act in futility unless you have a drill (1/4" drill bit was perfect). Without these extra tools, it took me 2 hours to put together 1 (very wobbly) chair. After getting out the drill and hex driver, I was able to finish the other 3 in 45 minutes total. I still want to throw this entire thing out the window, and no telling how long these chairs will hold up, as they don't seem very sturdy. But, after hours of frustration, they're functional...

Metropolitan 5-Piece Dining Set

While this set is nice looking for the price, I would not recommend it for the following reasons. The chair assembly is difficult and especially in my case because of the poor manufacturing of the product. The drill holes were too small for the screw or not completely drilled at all. It also appeared that a correction was possibly made by the manufacturer and it was still wrong.

POOR ASSEMBLY DESIGN

The table and chair set looks exactly like the picture. The table is easy to assemble, just need to pop on the four legs. Looks ok and does the job. The chairs were very difficult to assemble. The nuts, bolts, screws and other hardware were all mixed up & not labelled, and the instructions were annoyingly time consuming to read and to decipher. Not practical at all. It was extremely frustrating assembling these 4 chairs, and for the effort,number of steps and parts required, they're not even that comfortable or attractive. The chair bottom has a light padding that does a decent job of providing cushioning support. The back is hard, stiff and uncomfortable to hold a proper posture for long.
