Exceeded My Expectations

I’ve owned several safes before, but this one is by far the best. It's spacious enough to store all my important items.

I’ve already wrote a review on the safe I bought , but they sent me another. The hollow HS-500D that I purchased has very loose door , a lot of play ( not gasketed ) and the tumbler is sticky when turning , and I’m questioning the 2 hour fire rating. Thanks

After months of research I chose the Hollon 500D. This a solid home safe. I like the workmanship and the easy access with the key alone. At 90 around pounds. It is heavy but still maneuverable by one person. Over the years I have had three burglaries and the total loss of my childhood home due to fire. My coin collections was hidden in the oven and clothes hamper but were still taken.

This safe met my needs and budget

The walls are lathe and plaster making it nearly impossible to ‘carve out’ a hiding place without damaging the wall. A wall safe would not have worked. I wanted easy access to the safe so hiding it in the attic or crawl space was not an option. The safe is in the basement inside a tall gym style locker with a 14” depth and 14” width. It is bolted to cinder blocks. It was a very close fit.

Fantastic

This is a great safe. Small, but you are able to pack a lot of stuff in it. Was able to fit one 50cal ammo can, and one 20cal ammo can inside and close the door no problem, and still have room left over. The quality of the safe is excellent too. The weight of the safe would pose a problem to any thief without proper gear to haul it out. I feel very good about this purchase.

Its Safe!

Very pleased with this safe. I like that it is a 2-hour fire rated safe. Just big enough but not too big to install by yourself to secure your important documents!

I like it

i'm not sure if it really is fire rated since i haven't put it to the test and hope not to ever have to either, but so far the safe has passed the test. It's a bit heavy but spacey and i think that's a good weight. The delivery was fast in my eyes and the customer service was excellent. Thanks Chris in tech support.

Hollon 500D fireproof safe

A well made safe. It arrived well packaged and was left outside my front door. The safe is quite heavy but no problem to move about with a handcart. My wife and I did have a problem opening it after trying numerous times, even after watch the tutorial online video. My 9 year old son gave it a go and after a couple of times got it to open ! Not sure what we were doing wrong but afterwards my wife and I now have no problem with getting it to open up. We are very happy with this purchase.

Great for Small Business

I purchased the Hollon HS-500D safe for my small business and it's been a great investment. It's the perfect size for storing important documents and cash, and the fireproof capabilities are an added bonus. The only downside is that it's quite heavy and difficult to move around.

I have looked far and wide and glad I waited to run into this Hollon HS-500. Such great build and no nonsense frills. Just one beafy dial safe that leaves me with a peace of mind that my files and monies are safe! Thanks Hollon for the hard work and craftsmanship. Very happy with purchase

I'm pleased with this safe. It would be difficult for anyone to move and can be bolted to floor. I'm also happy the price is decent for a 2 hr fireproof safe. You have to enter combo and turn key to open it which makes it more likely to lose one of the 2. I had locked my combination in the safe but was able to contact machinesharks and they quickly contacted hollon. Everything is settled now and i didn't have to call a locksmith. Be sure to keep receipt and serial # on safe incase something like this happens to you. 🤭

Good Value

Very study safe. Easy to operate. Got the dial combo not the electronic keypad. The electronics are too cute and NOT robust. Get a mechanical dial for all you safes!

Great safe

Very reassuring. It's a solid, forbidding but handsome unit that dials smoothly and opens obediently every time. We know we can get into it without battery failure or some electronic hiccup. Call me old school, but it's just what I was hoping for. My wife likes the white decor-friendly color, but underneath I know it means business. Thanks, and keep up the good work.

Good safe m not sure if hole in bottom of safe for mounting bolt will keep out the heat if the bolt is not secured to the ground I am not bolting the safe down so not sure if 2 hour fire safety will work would like some feed back on this

Excellent safe for valuables

I really like this safe. It's a good size for my needs and it has a removable tray should you need the extra space. Heavy, and appears to be well built. Electronic lock is easy to operate. Couldn't be happier.

Sturdy home safe

This safe arrived in excellent condition. It is steel with a metal combination, not plastic. It took me a couple of tries to open it because I wasn't focused and passed the numbers. After going the combination a couple of times, all went well. This safe requires a key and the combination to open. I love the double security. It is heavy enough to give a thief trouble maneuvering out the door. I am very pleased with this purchase.
