Installed my an electrician in basement renovation. Ran an electric fireplace on the circuit and one of the receptacles would melted within 5 mins. We changed out the failed outlet and tried again. Same thing but on a different outlet that shared the same circuit. Same thing happend 7 times one after the other. Measured the fireplace and always pulled under 12 amps. Ended up replacing them all with the standard leviton 15 amp outlet and no more melting outlets.

These outlets are a fairly new design and are pretty cool. They are much safer because there is no metal exposed on the side to short out against a metal box. The clamps accept #14 and #12 wire so if you have the new #10 copper clad aluminum this product will not work for you. I like how even the ground has a clamp. My only complaints are that if using regular sized wall plates you must break off two plastic tabs on every outlet you install and that these will not accept three or even four wires to one side so you are forced to pigtail if there are more than two wires.

This is my second batch of 10s. These are easy and similar to wagos. Strip, stab, close and you're done! Great price on these as well!

Looks like the item is photoshopped to remove made in china, and the quality shows. Screws are way too soft, wish i could use 10 gauge wire and the tamper feels like I am gonna break the device. Every time I have to jam my outlet into my wall hoping it doesn't break. Why don't they have a non tamper resistance version as the tamper is straight garbage. Not fond of it being so thick and when I twist the wires the wire comes straight out. That seems like a lawsuit waiting to happen. Sure it fast to install but go with the screw design to give you peace of mind especially when it comes to electrical safety

Very quick, very secure installation

The Leviton Edge outlet is the easiest outlet installation I’ve ever experienced. The lever tabs securely grab your hot, neutral, and ground wires. I was unable to pull them out by hand once the levers were closed. The built-in stripping gauge helps determine the correct insulation strip to insure the proper amount of bare wire is exposed — enough for the levers to grab hold of, but not so much to leave bare wire outside the outlet. Really well done, Leviton!

Makes work faster, easier and safer. They also make changes, or swapping pieces or, finding a better way to make an on the spot change easier. Also they are great for temporary lay outs, so someone can still keep areas working, while decisions are made or changed. And they are great to work as a 'temporary junction box' that keeps the wires safe, while holes are drilled, lines are run and people can keep on working and going about their 'home / work' life while other work is being done.

I haven't used it yet. JK-the release levers are great. Although recommended you cut the power off before working on it, I say venture and see if you can do it without that. I little shock is not going to kill you. Just remember the black wire is hot. You can reverse those (black and white), too, if you want to prank a friend.

Very easy to install

The tamper proof blade hole blocking is garbage. VERY difficult to insert plug.

The new snap/lever design is really nice. So easy to install. Feels really solid. Hope they come out with different design options and a 20amp version. But very nice design.

I like the product because it is looks great with any decoration, especially in these modern times.

Easy to use. Open tabs, Cut wire's strip wire's to proper length, color coded & insert wire's. Close tabs and check tightness, then install. Best outlet on the market. No complications.
