this worked fine. but sometimes this newer style of outlet is hard to plug devices in. Oh well I guess that's how they're supposed to work.

Loose plugs

I put a couple of thesr 20A tamper-resistant outlets in the garage and plugs are loose and get as though they'll fall out, including the surge protector into which the garage door opener is plugged. Extension cords hang out of the outlet under what little of their own weight goes to the floor. Doesn't even feel like plugs are in until the last little bit left, and feels loose even then.

Purchased this to replace a GFI outlet because the treadmill that I purchased said the motor would not operate properly using a GFI outlet. Installed the new outlet without any issues. Works fine with my new treadmill.

Continuing a project running off a 20 amp circuit breaker I needed an outlet for a portable A/C unit drawing more than 15 amps at times. After this installation the unit runs fine without tripping a breaker.

Very hard to insert plug.

Was looking for two black 20 amp outlets. The only thing available in black were these Decora Tamper resistant. I can understand the need for tamper resistance, but how safe are they going to be when you can't get the plug all the way in. An elderly person or someone with a compromised grip could never use these. I've never experienced an outlet this hard to use. I thought either the outlet or the plug would break or bend before it went in.

The TR outlets are a pain to plug into, and they need an extra push on the plug in order for the plug to remain in place. If TR is a new standard it needs vast functionality improvements.

NOT an electrician but it seems that the old fashioned dual face ones are easier to install than these....easier to hold while you're wiring them.. BUT these are better than the old ones because they are idiot (me) proof, having your hot and neutral marked on the back in case I forget..which is often. These were also a hair tougher to get aligned perfect in the box. overall a 4 out of 5.

There were extra parts thrown into the box and a knot in the draw string that took a long time to loosen. Poor quality control. The extra time required to untie the knot and then fix the brackets that were not holding on the valence made the job unpleasant. MAP

Had to Buy 2 to get a Good One

First of all, my local Canadian tire did not have ANY "regular" outlets at all so I had to get the square model. Installed it, tested it and all was good. Within 2 weeks it died, I even wrap electrical tape around the out let to prevent any possible shorting out, it just died. Had to go back to CTC and get another, only 2 left and reinstalled and so far it is working.

Tamper Proof Recepticals

I find it very difficult to plug anything into these outlets. I now am buying only the regular, not the tamper proof ones. I am sue they would be excellent for use in a child's room however.
