Outlet wasn't in its own packaging. Just loosely thrown in a bigger box with other items. By the time we received the outlet, it had scratches all over. I called home depot. They made trying to get a new one difficult because they couldn't guarantee it would be packed better. So I took the refunded and installed a scratched up outlet in a brand new kitchen.

Bought a ten pack of these I'm remodeling my mid 70s house and upgrading the look on the outlets they work ok but wrapping the old wire around the lug screw it is such a pain, a simple fix would be to just make the lug screw slightly longer so there's a bit more room to hook the wire on ! I can't imagine it would be difficult to fix that problem, and yes I'm sure every day electrician's don't have a problem wiring these outlets, but I'm sure Alot of dyi homeowners (and there are a lot) agree

Great protection for little kids

Amazing product ended up getting these during house remodel. Didn’t get the one click option. But this was slightly cheaper. The house was wired with peg style outlets already so why not. Love the tamper proof feature for having little kids running around. A++++

This product comes from a stalker store. Home Depot. All I did was buy this without providing any of my personal info. Yet, here in my email inbox is a request to review this product. How creepy is that! Maybe I’ll take my business to a store that track everything I buy. Or at leasts has me opt in.

Not true white

I don't know what the deal is whether I got a bad batch or what. But these receptacles are not white. They are off-white and did not match the wall plate. Unfortunately I did not realize it until it was too late, and I can't exchange the items because everything's going to cost more since I used a 15% off coupon. The local Home Depot was no help in trying to rectify the issue,second time this home depot screwed me over.

The outside of the box said 20 amps and showed a picture of an outlet with T shaped receptacles to accommodate 20 amps. The product inside the box was 20 amps with 15 amp receptacles without the T shaped blades. I was happy because this is actually what I wanted and I thought I was having to settle for having the T shaped blades when I really only wanted the 20 amp circuit for its pass through capability

If your looking for a clean looking Decora Outlet this is not it. It has on the front of the device in raised letters "Leviton" this is so unnecessary. Who is going around looking for a brand on the front of a outlet. The whole Idea of Decora was to have a streamline look. After some searching, I found Eaton makes a Decora Tamper Resistant outlet in 10 packs, for less money than this. Just is not carried at the Orange store.

We purchased a 2006 home to live in and flip and as we've done with all of our past properties, we make every attempt to bring things up to current code in the process, to alleviate home inspection anxiety on our future buyer. One of my biggest pet peeves is outlets, switches and covers that have been painted over or yellowed over time. It's one of the least expensive ways to quickly brighten up a home. The red and blue competitor to HD doesn't sell TR decora outlets in pro packs in store, and the ones they sell online are more expensive.

The tamper resitant feature is awesome if you have you toddlers/young children. Instructions are simple/straight forward & installation was easy. Great assistance provided by Home Depot electrical associates in purchasing the right products & quantity. Great customer support provided by Leviton when I called for clarification/assistance & troubleshooting with a minor issue. Strongly recommend Leviton products for your eletrical needs. I installed the Leviton Decora 15 amp outlet in a basement bathroom that was on a GFCI-protected cicuit. Installation was simple. There are two features that I particularly like. One is the TR feature, which keeps little fingers safe. The second is the snap-on cover plate. After installing the outlet, you screw on the base plate, and then the cover plate snaps over it, hiding any screws. It makes for a very clean look.

I received the Leviton Decora 15 Amp TR outlet and installed it in a basement bathroom. It is a nice looking outlet. I like the tamper resistant feature, which keeps little fingers from putting any objects in. It was a lot smoother to insert a plug than in TR outlets I have installed in my cottage addition., which I felt were more resistant than they needed to be. Another nice feature is the snap on wall plate, which covers the mounting screws. It's easy to snap on and off. This provides a very nice, clean look, as you can see in the photo.

Leviton Decora 15 Amp Tamper Resistant Duplex Outlet, Light Gray: I chose this product because I needed to change out an old electrical wall outlet. I was looking for something new that had more secure features. I came across this product, and liked what I saw. The Duplex Outlet came with a Light Gray Screwless Faceplate. As you will see in the photo I shared, there is no center screw showing, like the older Outlet and Faceplates have. The Screwless Faceplate, gives it a more Modern Design look, as well as a making this model Tamper Resistant.

2 of the outlets have a defective lower outlet. Defective in term of it is extremely hard to insert and 3-prong plug and remove them. Found that out after wiring, when I was doing a circuit check. It is not firm but you have to put your full weight to push it in and remove it. The 2 prong part is fine so it appears to be the ground socket. Contacted Leviton and they wanted me to send them the devices. I am sure after repeat use, it would be better but not worth. Just check the outlet first before installation.

This outlet is easy to install and I like the tamper resistant feature. The light gray color is in style and on trend right now. This outlet features both push-lock type terminals as well as screw-down clamp type terminals. Make sure that you use the right type trim plate with this outlet as it uses the large single cutout plate. I used a screwless version that looks great. This outlet is made in America as well. I will be purchasing more to replace the rest of the outlets in this bedroom.

The Leviton tamper-resistant outlet has some good and bad features. The tamper-resistant feature is nice and may be required for new installations. There was little resistance when inserting a plug in the receptacle. Both good and bad because something, like a paper clip, might still go in easily. Some receptacles have too much resistance making it hard to insert a plug but also safer with small objects. The receptacle is rated 15 amps and the back indicates that both 14-gage and 12-gage wire can be used. !4-gage wire can be inserted into the quick connect hole in the back, but 12-gage will not fit in the small hole. 12-gage wire must be installed under the screws only. The screw connection port has a notch on each side to hold the wire from turning while tightening the screw on the wire, a nice feature. The 14-gage wire inserted in the quick connect hole can be removed with a small screwdriver in the adjacent hole. I found it hard to release the wire without heavy pressure and this might be difficult to release in actual use. I prefer slip wire connection that clamp the wire instead of a wire wrap around the screw.

The 10-pack of the Leviton Decora 15 Amp TR outlets are by far some of the best outlets for the price. They are made from good materials and it seems that they will last a long time. Very easy to install and you can trust this brand name as they have been around for a long time. The TR (Tamper Resistant) outlets are a must if you are replacing any outlets as they are safer for children and they also keep out dust. Love these, I replaced my entire house with white versions as my older ones were original to the 1983 home I recently purchased. Buy these, you will not regret it!

Leviton decided to change these so there is a small "Leviton" logo on the bottom edge of the receptacle visible to the world when it is installed. The older versions did not have this. I am in the middle of a project converting my house over to all Decora switches and receptacles. I was about half way done when I bought a few more boxes of these and found this little surprise! Now, half of the new ones will say Leviton and the half I already swapped are blank. The product is pretty good for what it does and I like that the wire can be fastened under a plate that is trapped by the side screw, forming a better connection than a back-stab. I dinged it one star because of the new advertisement molded onto the face of the switch.

I don't like tamper resistant oulets

I have never liked so called tamper resistant outlets. It's hard to plug things in and they look funny if you have a dark colored outlet like the brown ones. These are no exception. Unfortunately I was 3 outlets short from my larger order of the regular kind and didn't want to wait another 6-8 weeks for them to come in since these are the only ones the local HD stocks in brown. The quick connect also does not accept #12 wire like the outlet I replaced. Unless you like having outlets that are hard to use and look like eye sockets with no eyeballs then I would advise you to use the regular kind.

I purchased this outlet to replace the white one on a charcoal grey feature wall in my home. The black disappears on the dark wall. I'm glad Lutron has these available in black. I've used Lutron products in my last five homes. There products really are superior to some of the other brands that have copied their design. In my last home I installed some outlets that looked the same and were less expensive. Using them was a mistake. After a couple years the "other" brand was yellowing, which was really obvious against the white Lutron wall plates. I learned that some manufacturers use a cheaper styrene based plastic that yellows after time. My recommendation is to stick with the best products like Lutron.
