Not melting so far

My old outlet was 15AMP and melted when my 10,000 BTU air con was plugged into it. I wanted a higher AMP outlet but this 20 AMP seems to be the limit. It only has air conditioner plugged into it and so far it's holding up.

[Rewarded Review] Great High Quality 20 Amp Outlet

Had a toaster oven on an 15amp outlet that also had a 15amp switch. It did have 12AWG wire but the switch and outlet wasn't rated for 20 amp so the outlet got hot. Bought both 20amp switch and outlet and replace it and tho it does get a little warm, it doesn't get hot at the plug. Both GE brand outlet and Switch seem to be great quality and heavy duty with a reasonable price. Will buy again.

We got this GE Designer Receptacle in white for an outlet that needed to be replaced. It was easy to install after turning off breaker to that room. It has made the wall look so much better. Very happy with product

The GE Designer Recept is great for modern houses and helps with the design I’m going for I’ve done a few things here and there with electrical work so I highly recommend just being safe installing it but it’s made a nice visual improvement to my house.
