Good quality!

I purchased a similar item from an online retailer that was half the price and it was absolute junk! Decided to spend the extra money and well worth it! This is a very sturdy piece and I am very happy with it! My adult son put it together by himself and took him about 2 hours. Is does have a strong odor from the paint but It is dissipating slowly but surely!

I gave it 4 stars, but that’s probably generous. The overall quality of the materials is reflected in the product price. Would have preferred to have paid a bit more and had more solid wood and less particle board used throughout. The back panels of the island, for example, are thin and flimsy. No problems with the assembly. It looks nice now, but time will tell how the cherry finish holds up.

Great cart with best assembly instructions/parts labeling

I'm very happy with this cart (white with butcher block top), which I use as a coffee/tea station. It did take me about 2 hrs to assemble with help from one other person for the beginning steps, however the packaging, labeling and instructions were among the best I've seen with self-assembly furniture. There were some slight painting flaws in non-critical areas and it took several days to air out the fumes after assembly, but overall the cart has been a great addition to my kitchen.

Not thrilled with quality or instructions

Given the cost of this island, I'm not very happy with the quality. Several pieces arrived with damaged paint that were clearly manufacturing errors--chips, bubbles, cracks, etc. We ordered a replacement on one piece, but I decided I just didn't have the energy to deal with returning it once we'd already assembled it, which was a mess. We love modular furniture and have fun putting them together, but this one was awful. The instructions were bad and it goes together in a very strange way. Now that it's done, I'm sure it'll be fine for a few years, but this was not my dream island and if it lasts 5 years, I'll be happy.

Completely In LOVE!!

I got it in 2 different boxes and it was well packed and foam around the box to keep it safe. Instructions were easy to follow. It did take me a little over 3 hours but my 3 year insisted on helping so that slowed me down a bit. It could be build within 2 hours. The only issue that I had is that the left draw didn't fit right but I unscrewed the front side and re screwed it in on an angle to fit. The outside bar of the draw was a bit un leveled and that was pre-installed by the manufacturer. Other then that I love it and it looks amazing, especially for the price. I saw this item in a well known furniture store for almost $800. I'm sure it will come completely built with them but I rather save the $400 and build it myself. It wasn't difficult at all.

Very good buy for the price

The cart arrived in 2 shipments, both delivered in very good shape. The cart was easy to put together and the directions were easy to follow. Took me about 2 hours from laying out the pieces to conmpletion. Good quality, very sturdy, looks really nice. I don't need the spice rack or the paper towel bar so I left them off. If you will too you'll need a small wooden towel to plug the pre-drilled holes or use some spackle & paint. The overall width without the spice rack and paper towel bar is about 42 inches. (I couldn't find that info before I bought this so I took a chance that it would fit my space.) The cart is counter hieght which is just what I was looking for. I will buy from this company again and I will definitely use Hayneedle again.
