Perfect room addition

I am going for a mire minimal, streamlined look in my home. I am also trying to use vertical space more effe. This ladder/ display shelf fills both objectives.

Nice looking shelf. Easy to put together. Shelves have lots of space to set items on. The teal is what I purchased for spare bedroom used for office. I like multi colors for a boho hippie look

Cute but flimsy bookshelf

DO NOT BUY THIS BOOKSHELF, it collapsed and split in half after less than four months, with a normal amount of books on it. The tiny wooden dowels that hold it together disintegrated and the bookshelf collapsed when i was vacuuming. I tried to use wood glue to fix it but it was unsalvageable. It looks cute and is easy to set up, but the white paint scratches very easily and it apparently is very flimsy and can't hold much weight for very long.

Quality accent piece for living quarters

Perfect accent piece for living room or small space. Important to know, it needs to balance on a wall like a ladder, and doesn't stand on it's on like a shelf. So calling it a bookshelf could be a little misleading. Love the teal color!

Sturdy, good looking, and solid wood

SO nice to find a solid wood ladder shelf! Perfect for displaying books and knickknacks. The black and wood tone combination matches an industrial style room well, while offering some variety from the usual black metal frame look. I do wish the shelf had two narrow pieces of wood going down the back, only because you can't put it in front of a light switch easily. I might add my own at some point.

Perfect size for kitchen to hold baskets of fruit and veggies from the garden, cookbooks, knickknacks, plants. Easy for one person to put together. I bought white and the finish is nice and will be easy to clean with damp cloth. Wished the sides were one solid piece (thus the minus one star). Overall, a great functional piece.

I love this bookshelf ladder. I got it in white, it's easy to put together and though I did not secure it to the wall, it's sturdy and fills the space nicely. I really like the graduated shelves and fits everything from my DVR books pictures and plants. I recommend it. Great purchase. Have gotten complements from everyone who's seen it.

This is absolutely the most beautiful dining shelf in blue and actually matches the dining set I ordered with it! It is the exact color and size the website shows. I am extremely happy with it. It comes with screws to mount to wall at the top so it will never move. Very unique! And while you're looking at blue furniture, there is a very nice hall table that goes perfect. I definitely would recommend everything and have friends that ordered in a other colors as well. Very easy to put together...even for a 65 year old woman!

Oops, I did it again!

After my last catastrophe with furniture from China (I mean Overstock), I am actually 10 minutes into the assembly and remember why I wrote the last 1star review. First assembly is the SUPPORTING pieces that again I mention support the whole shelf. The dowels are so cheap and the pieces would not go together smoothly even after I secured with the provided screw. I knew this project was doomed when I saw how flimsy the supports would be. While trying to install the first shelf to the supports, the dowels snapped in two (screw held tight-good job) and support is now two pieces with nothing to fix it with. Again, my husband could fix this. But when he sees how cheap this piece of junk is, he is not going to allow it to be put in my grandson's room for fear of an accident. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice shame on me! Shame on me if I order from Overstock again. Hauling to the dumpster tomorrow.

Great color, perfect size, easy to put together.

I was having a difficult time deciding on a ladder shelf and late one night I found this shelf on Overstock. It said it was blue but it looked more turquoise in color which is what I wanted. After reading reviews, I decided it had to be the color I was looking for. It came in and was perfect. Living in a tiny house, the size works beautifully and I didn't even have to attach it to the wall. I had to contact the company who makes it and they were very accommodating. The shelf was very simple to put together. Nice and sturdy

The color of the shelf is vibrant & true to the description. Mine arrived with several noticeable chips in the front edges of the shelves even though it was packaged nicely. Overstock was quick to respond, and the top shelf replacements are en route. It should make a nice display shelf but I'm not sure whether the finish/color on the wood could stand up to daily use with books or files being pulled on/off. Definitely a good choice for a pop of color or for display.

Vibrant color, sturdy, exactly what we expected. Perfect color and match that we wanted to go with the rest of our stuff. Great addition to our decor, easy to assemble. Everything we read from online details is what we received. Customer service on point for all concerns for product. Would definitely recommend this to a friend or anyone else. Great product. Happy with our purchase, will definitely buy from here again.

Not worth the money or effort

I was willing to let the scratched up shelf slide, since the marred area would facing the wall, but that was just the start. Dowel pins to connect the rails were snapped on one side. The glue for the dowels arrived dried up. When I tried to drill a pilot hole to shore up the broken dowels with another screw, the fake wood splintered. Chalk it up to I should have read the reviews. Product is cheap, flimsy and not worth half the price. What a waste of my time.

These all-wood ladder bookcases are exactly as described/pictured. Very easy to assemble and packaged nicely. I purchased them to use in place of bulky nightstands with little surface area. I have a king upholstered bed (also from overstock) in a small 12 x 12 master. Space is very limited. These bookcases look amazing next to the large bed and are extremely functional. I have my clock radio/cd player, an uplight, laptop, kleenex box, 3 tv/dvd remotes, all of my prescriptions (top shelf, away from kids), phone charger and plenty of space left over for water bottle and reading materials. This is all on one of the 2 shelves. My boyfriend's side is very underused and i am thinking of taking up some of his space. Lol. Of note: my king size bed has 4 very large storage drawers underneath and the ladder shelves are well out of the way. The height is also a nice feature as I have a 60" window above/behind the upholtered headboard and the shelves nearly reach the top for a very balanced look and feel to my tiny room.

We ordered the Dark Walnut/Black ladder. The finish on the shelves is very nice, definitely looks like a wood shelf with natural- looking grain. There were "chips" on a few areas of some of the shelves, and the crayons they sent were the wrong color, broke immediately and were of poor quality. Fortunately, I had a furniture crayon in a closer shade which was of better quality and was able to touch up the spots. The only other negative was the extra 3rd leg for support, which is great, but it wasn't stained properly - looked like a slapdash job and much lighter and streaky than the color of the shelves. That said, my husband put the ladder up without too much difficulty, and it looks great. It seems to fit securely against the wall without using the wall brackets, and the subtle two-toned effect of the black and dark walnut brings it up a notch from just having one finish/color. So far, we are very pleased with it.

I bought two of these. The first one went together well and I decided to buy a second one. The second one was where I had problems. I found out the joint between the upright pieces is VERY fragile. I snapped both wooden pins with very little pressure. Rather than request new pieces I drilled out the pins and replaced them with 3/8ths dowel rod and some glue. Not difficult but annoying. They include a tube of glue with each bookshelf so this must be a really common problem.

Do not buy this shelf. It stinks... literally smells like chemicals. Hopefully I can air outside for a few days and it will go away but very unhappy and should of returned. I put it together and realized the shelves are particle board. So added some extra screws to make more sturdy and installed in house... them my entire living room stunk! Left the windows open all day and still smells. So now it's in the shed... and might end up in a landfill if it continues to stink. I read up and it's called "off-gassing" basically smell can last days or years. Take my advice and buy something that's 'Made in America' of solid wood... good luck!

EXTREMELY disappointed. I searched high and low for an affordable bookcase ladder that did not look cheap and finally decided on getting this one. Aside from the fact that as soon as I opened the package and started taking out the pieces, I could start to smell some foul odor, but it broke on the very first part of the install! The already installed wooden plugs were not fitting into the prefabricated holes. Almost as soon as I was pushing to try to squeeze the plugs in the hole, I heard them snap. I'm 115 pounds and don't routinely work out so it's not like I could have broken it through my massive power. I was expecting the installation to take awhile and have complicated instructions. I was not planning on having the pieces not fit together and break almost immediately. I was willing to overlook the dings on the paint, but once it broke I had to begin the return process. If you order it, I hope your pieces actually fit together, because mine didn't.

This ladder was easy to put together and looks great on my wall. It PERFECTLY fits our vinyl records in addition to DVDs and other media. Other than a few scuffs around the corners (most of which ended up facing the wall anyway), this product was in excellent condition when it came out of the box. The instructions were clear and the unit it feels solid against the wall. We chose not to secure it to the wall with screws because it has a third stabilizing foot in the back. This shelf looks so good and we love it so much that we're considering buying a second one to go on the opposite side of the room. Would highly recommend to anyone.
